This is exactly what you would expect from a hotel of this type. Clean and tidy with an eat all you want self service buffet style breakfast which if taken as brunch immediately makes the room rate reasonable value. The free parking is helpful and the staff are willing to please and as the room was ready they permitted early occupancy at no extra cost which was very reasonable.

The water temperature in the shower never got very hot but not cold so a minor issue in the grand scheme of things. The rooms are a touch on the small side for a couple especially if you had significant baggage but more than adequate for a night or two.

Room was excellent very tidy, liked that shampoo, hand wash and body wash was supplied. Staff were very approachable and friendly. Beds were comfy. Breakfast and meals was excellent. Bar drinks lots of choice. Close drive to the Warner Brothers Studio Tour 13 mins away.

The air con couldn’t blow out cold air, ans it was too warm inside the room, and there was no information on how to work it. Only scrambled eggs for option with breakfast, would like to have had a fried eggs option too. Could have other bathroom items supplied like toothpaste and toothbrush instead of the option to call reception to bring it up to your room (didn’t happen to us but I noticed the information in our room).

The accessible room (330) has very limited space around the bed We had to change the location of the bed (rotated by 90degrees in the room to allow for access to the left side of the bed (when lying) for my husband to be able to transfer in/out of bed The mattress was really uncomfortable Needing a keycard for toilet meant unable to use on arrival or after check out which wasn’t ideal when travelling a long way

The location is set by the marina. It is really beautiful. There are a number of restaurants and cafes scattered around the marina as well as a small shop selling groceries. The parking is plentiful and was free. Having read previous reviews with regards to breakfast being busy, we ate our breakfast earlier and had no issues whatsoever. There was plenty choice of both hot and cold food all of which was buffet style. The selection of hot drinks was excellent. I would say that if you are a coffee lover or connoisseur then the coffee may not be to your taste. However, if you are really craving a barista style coffee then head over the bridge to one of the cafes. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. It has USB charging points and the WiFi is free. We live and therefore travelled from Manchester. We found the hotel to be great value and would definitely return.

The staff were incredibly sweet we met Debbie (I think, I wish I’d have taken a picture of the keycard to save her name! She finished at 11pm the day of our stay though I remember that!) and another lovely lady who’s name we didn’t catch at the reception when we came to check in. We’d been on the road most of the day travelling from West Yorkshire to Harry Potter Studios and back up to the hotel before our trip to London the day after. They took into consideration our party and the size of the room and ensured we were comfortable as we have a 6ft6 teenage boy to try fit in the beds plus two adults. They offered extra linens and towels and other amenities and ensured we were comfortable , happy & enjoyed our stay.

Wasn’t a fan of the breakfast personally , lots of choice but the scrambled eggs were watery and the sausages were spicy which we found really odd (not herby, spicy and I love spicy food but not my sausages). Other than that the pastries, cereals, bacon & drinks etc looked fab / were fab so we can’t really complain too much. The hotel itself is fab. It’s only a small issue that we noticed lots of people had left their sausages and eggs on their plate when leaving.

The beds were comfortable and the bathroom clean. The air conditioning worked well. The television was good and the layout of the room spacious. The shower was good. Towels were soft. The hairdryer was appreciated. It was conveniently placed. Having parking was a big bonus. Staff were very nice.

The bedhead had an unnecessary light unit running along it that meant we couldn't lean back when in bed, and we both bumped our heads on it. We would have liked more storage and some suitcase racks. There was only one chair. The duvets were rather thick for July. Only one USB charging point actually worked. The breakfast was mediocre. It was edible but limited.

The location is stunning - crossing the cool bridge to the other side of the canal, exploring what was there, listening to the music & atmosphere. Staff all really lovely, top end of helpful & friendly. Breakfast was amazing - everything you could possibly want. I asked if they had jam or choc spread, as I couldn't see the big dispenser things, and was politely shown where & how.

Only thing I noticed is that the bathroom could do with a refresh, shower was fab but just lots of the edges where a repair has been done, with sealant for example, were VERY roughly finished. The tiled floor grouting in the main walking zone could do with bleaching to bring back to white. I do this with my own bathroom floor tiles every so often, I appreciate this is not as simple in a hotel with hundreds of bathrooms. But still. Oh and the bed is too firm for my liking! But we're all different.

This was my second visit and I stated earlier that I would review after this latest stay. The hotel is in a lovely situation near a river and you can enjoy a walk in the evening sun along it. The staff are lovely, friendly and helpful. The room was clean and well maintained during my visit. The breakfast has a good choice of food to cover every taste. Two exciting happening's during the visits, no eggs for two days breakfasts and a fire false alarm which had us all out of our beds in the early hours for a while.. It is my last visit to England but I would happily return to the hotel again.

I know England is an expensive place, cup of coffee 4 pounds, Kleenex tissues 3 pounds but a Shandy drink at the hotel was 6 pounds 20 and I think this was a bit OTT. I think they could still make a profit on the liquid served if it was half the price. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Be aware information The Pub opposite the hotel is very expensive, fish and chips 18 pounds 50, jump in the car and go into town, the same meal was 7 pounds 50

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Holiday Inn Express for a brief one-night visit, and I must say, the experience exceeded my expectations. Despite my late arrival at 11:20 PM, the staff was incredibly welcoming and accommodating. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, which was much appreciated after a long day of travel. The room was immaculate, comfortable, and well-appointed with all the amenities one could need for a restful night. The bed was particularly comfortable, ensuring I had a great night's sleep. Additionally, the hotel's quiet atmosphere contributed to a peaceful stay. The next morning, I enjoyed a delicious and varied breakfast, which provided a perfect start to my day. The overall cleanliness of the hotel, combined with the friendly and professional staff, made this stay truly enjoyable. I highly recommend the Holiday Inn Express for anyone needing a reliable and comfortable place to stay, even if arriving late at night. Their commitment to excellent service is evident, and I look forward to returning in the future.

The location was amazing as we had harry potter tour booked, gf selection was good for breakfast, rooms clean and hotel was clean. Sylvia was lovely and could not do enough to help us in the mornings. If you asked for extra towels or anything the staff would bring them. Very welcoming staff. Large carpark and very local to a small retail park( including sainsburys and just a 10 min walk away from local mcdonalds and Subway). Would definitely stay again.

There was 1 man on reception who was rude when I asked about if the hot chocolate is gluten free due to my son having coeliac disease. The man was very rude.
