Sauna, steam room.& pool nice and clean..

Food in the brasserie could be a little more high quality or rosette. Blackberries with the duck very gritty seedy try passing it through a sieve. The club at cotten Mill doesn't warrant an upgrade of £120 per person. Breakfast could offer more variety such as crushed avocado & poached egg, pancakes

Room was very nice, and the food in the restaurant was great!

Spa available to us was very underwhelming - expecting lots based on the pictures and the social media presence. We also had a faulty light in our room. We’re spoken too in a very patronising way by staff, when questioning around the spa. Voiced these with an email to the hotel and have no response which is disappointing.

Stayed there for 2 nights at a deluxe room. Overall excellent. The hotel has recently been refurbished to a high standard with some nice modern artwork on the walls. The bedroom was spacious and nicely decorated. Good breakfast. Excellent leisure / spa centre with a good-sized swimming pool that you can do lengths in. Courteous and efficient staff. St Albans only a short drive away.

The main restaurant is not open on Monday & Tuesday and dinner is served at the Brasserie, which is also where breakfast is served. As a venue, the Brasserie is fine for breakfast but maybe not for a formal dinner occasion. Fortunately, St Albans has good choice of restaurants

The room was very comfortable and a good size which surpassed expectations, it was well equipped with full tea and coffee making facilities, a nice bathroom and a very comfy king sized bed. The spa pool was nice and clean, and the gym is well equipped with a full modern technogym setup. The bar was also very nice and had a comfy look and feel to it. They served nice drinks and the staff were friendly and very accommodating. Breakfast was also good quality.

We felt slightly conned by the spa, whilst the pool is well kept and maintained we were not informed that we would not have full access to the spa pools and were disappointed when we were not let through to the outside pools as this was a major reason as to why we booked to stay here.

Breakfast was fine . It would be nice if you could order personally a fresh cooked breakfast eg egg/ veggie breakfast rather than one sat on the buffet touched by many . This especas my wife is having chemotherapy.

The room didn't have a coffee making facility or kettle. We looked everywhere and didn't find one in room 222 The staff had been so.kind to give as a vold storage for our room to store my wife's medication we didn't want to make a fuss We would like to have been give clear guidance how we could use the electric chargers . The Porters were very nice but didn't seem to.know and pointed out where they were and"follow instructions " but apart from a qr code no other instructions were visible

we picked great weather and loved the place itself, breakfast was lovely! room was lovely and we did have an issue with our tv but the staff did help us by letting us use another room. to use outdoor spa for £120pp as extra was a little steep but we used indoor pools and sauna/jacuzzi which was lovely.

only negative was the attitude of the man who checked me in just pure rudeness and ruined my first opinion w walking in the place. everyone else was lovely and couldn’t of helped more.

Great grounds- So very pretty. Lobby and restaurants well decorated and kept. Rooms have been updated since my last stay and the ones overlooking the grounds are lovely. Breakfast was ok nothing exceptional. staff are really nice but unorganised and everything takes ages.

Lovely staff but very slow and unorganised. Visited a lot of departments and found all to be very slow and unorganised. Forgetting drink orders, reception staff took ages and didn’t know how to use computer systems properly and not clearing plates Way when asked from breakfast. plus restaurant staff not really knowing who was having what when ordered. Not what you would expect.

Some staff members were outstanding, like the young lady that serve us at the bar, and the gentleman that brought our room service in the evening. We had breakfast in your restaurant and your waiting staff are outstanding overall, very professional, polite, and efficient, a credit to your organisation. The reception team not as much, which is a shame as they are the first team to greet clients.

The rooms need a renovation, the carpets, the hall

Beautiful hotel and spa full of character. The grounds were smaller than expected took roughly 10 minutes to walk around. The spa was lovely. Clean changing areas and poolside. Our double room was a good size bigger than expected and the bed was huge. Breakfast was great with a good mix and great vegetarian options. All the staff we encountered were polite and friendly. Rooms were well equipped with Elemis toiletries. Close to centre of St Albans.

Minor niggle was when we used the shower the shower screen wasn't flush to the tub and so the water leaked onto the floor. One other thing was because breakfast time was busy I think there was a rush for the chefs to get breakfast out. I went back for another fried egg and it was still slimy on top which was off putting.

The staff were without a doubt the most attentive I have ever experienced. Nothing was too much trouble they were so kind and helpful in every aspect: restaurant, bar, spa etc. The facilities were clean and well kept, everything was carefully monitored by cleaners & security etc.

The room was fairly basic for the money and the shower dripped all night long which was a little frustrating. Everything was on the upper end of its price range £140 for 60 minute massage, £20 for 2 drinks at the bar ..... Everything had service charge added onto it... Although I didn't mind as the staff were fantastic so I hope that money goes to them directly. Just frustrating when you go to the bar and order a drink, carry it back to your table but you pay a service charge for no service?
