Great location in the historic area of Georgetown. Our family room was very spacious with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a separate living room, more like a small apartment. All furnished with Chinese antiques. Very atmospheric.

The Mews cafe was disappointing - our food was very average and over priced with indifferent service. Water pressure in shower very weak but understandable given the age of the property.

The location was great—close to the action but removed from the noise and within walking distance to other parts of George Town. The property itself is set off the street in an alley and our room, which was on the ground floor, didn't look out to much—just a storeroom and the staircase; the alley is nicely lined with plants but there isn't really a courtyard. (There are bigger rooms upstairs though, and I understand there are more rooms in the beautifully restored heritage building opposite, which also has a lightwell and a common area where all guests can sit in and relax for a while.) The room itself was simply but comprehensively furnished and had everything we needed—including a desk, a coffee table and sofa, and a dining table—though warmer lighting would have added more to the ambience. Most importantly, it was clean! And the staff were friendly and helpful.

The shower's water pressure and temperature was erratic and had to be constantly adjusted, but it worked.

The size of the room can only be described as huge. I'm not sure of the exact size but it would be in the vicinity of 90 m2. The airconditioning worked very well, the beds were comfortable, the shower and toilet was good as well. We did enjoy a couple of breakfasts where we checked in across the road and there was an abundance of restaurants all within walking distance.

I personally found that there was too much light in the room during the evening which made sleep a little difficult for me. The room above us has wooden floors and the children made plenty of noise running back and forth playing during the early evening.

One of the best Georgetown Heritage & Hotel at Penang. So I berkesempatan stay beberapa hari di Muntri Mews yg berkonsepkan Peranakan + Heritage. Banyak sejarah ttg banggunan yang diorang convert to hotel & suite ni. I really impress with the architecture, interior dan exterior setiap sudut dan ruang suite, the way they preserved and maintain tempat ni mmg harus diberi pujian. The room was spacious. If you guys plan to travel to Penang, this is the best choice.

1) The price a lil bit pricey, maybe the standard room is not more than RM200. 2) Sound proof - you still can hear the footsteps from upstairs.

I looooved Muntri Mews! The staff was so accommodating and friendly— especially Raj (i think that was his name…). They were very helpful and super sweet! Me and my family of 8 all stayed at the hotel in four different rooms. The rooms were beautiful and I loved the huge beds placed next to one another. It could definitely fit four people comfortably but it was just me and my partner in the room, so we essentially got a bed to ourselves ehile sleeping right next to each other! The terrace was beautiful and a great place to eat lunch/breakfast or enjoy a coffee! The room itself was super clean and a great shower. I highly recommend staying here! Would 100% stay again.

I wish that the blankets were a bit heavier and more fluffy! Breakfast was not included in our rate which was a bummer, but the cafe looked cute and busy! If we had more time definitely would have tried it. We opted to eat in Penang though! Also no pool.

Good value for money, large rooms, very clean. Quaint, peranakan style decorations was a nice touch to bring the history alive. Quiet neighbourhood with a 24 hour minimart within few mins walking. Room 9 has two bedrooms, each with its own ensuite bathroom, which is great value.

There was some dinner event during my stay. I was staying at room 9 (above the event) and I could hear the guests chatting till late (11 pm). Shower hose was leaking quite badly in one of the rooms and came off during showering once. Managed to put it back but could not stop the leak. Not a big issue though. Saw a spider in one of the bathrooms. The high ceiling means its not much of an issue as its far away, but it also means you cannot swat it. Quiet neighbourhood with some food options but not a whole lot.

Muntri Mews rustic and bohemian charm is a magnet puller. I have an old soul and an avid antique collector myself so the entire decor and interior is very appealing. My kids love staying here too. This is our second time and it never disappoints. Location is centrally located and walking distance to Armenian Street if you like the casual stroll into town. Plenty of charming boutiques nearby too i.e. Lee Ye Yuan Hotel (reception area doubles as a shop), 5.4 North, etc

THE DESIGN AND DECOR OF THE HOTEL IS LIKE A HOME. IT'S SMALL AND COSY. WE STAYED AT THE TERRACE SUITE ROOM NO. 4. IT HAD 2 LARGE DOUBLE BEDS AND 1 SINGLE BED. WE STAYED FOR 5 NIGHTS. ROOM 4 WAS SPACIOUS AND VERY COMFORTABLE FOR THE 4 OF US ESPECIALLY AFTER A HOT DAY OF WALKING AROUND THE HERITAGE SITE.

This was a quaint, well decorated boutique hotel in Georgetown. My husband and I absolutely loved our stay there. The room and property were gorgeous and in a great location. It is close to shops, restauraunts, and within walking distance to main attractions. The price is very reasonable compared to other heritage hotels in the area.

There are no large complaints. Sometimes there was a strong sewage smell in the main courtyard, but it was not there all day. It would have been nice to have breakfast included in the price.

Location is good. Actually every year since year 2017, I stayed in the sister property Muntri Grove. Unfortunately I don’t managed to get a reservation this year. Love the location.

The room door had a latch on the outside of the door. Not sure what is the intent but I do worried if I get locked in and there is emergency or fire or anything and someone latched the door, I will be trapped.
