Hotel Casino Plaza is located in a working neighborhood of Guadalajara. The historic center is an easy 10 minute walk. The facilities are excellent - very clean rooms - restaurant on site - friendly staff - excellent value. Our five night stay in October 2023 was $250 total with breakfast included. There are many luxery hotels in Guadalajara with upscale restaurants and lux shipping districts far removed from the central historical district. This is not one of those. If you want to experience the real daily life of a Tapatio, I highly recommend this fine hotel. I would certainly stay there, again.

There isn't much variety in the "included breakfast". I was hoping for a buffet style but at the time of our visit, that offering was only available on weekends.

The location was phenomenal. We wanted to stay close the the heart of the city to allow us the opportunity to explore. Even though we were very close to everything, it was not too noisy. The rooms were roomy with lots of counter space and even a small table to eat any food we brought up. There were a few walkable options for food and convenience stores. Like any big city, there can be homelessness, but we didn't see much during our stay. The front doors are always staffed and the doorman is very nice. The entire staff was very attentive. Though their staff changed out fairly frequently, we didn't really encounter anyone unpleasant. The staff also made sure we knew about their tours and transportation services. The airport transportation was easy to schedule (very early flight) with reasonable rates. Our maid, Sonia, was very kind and ensured our room was up to our standards. She checked in with us daily (ran into her in the hall) to bring fresh towels and confirm if we needed any sort of cleaning. Overall, the hotel is a great find! The room rate made me a little nervous (low rate in the city) but we were all pleasantly surprised.

The beds were full not queen. The listing for the hotel was confusing. I will chalk that up to human error, next time will be confirming. But, overall beds were just fine for the few days we stayed. The bathroom water did have a bit of a strong odor, not fowl but noticeable. Though, that may is likely the city drainage. There was no fridge. Not a dealbreaker but good to know in case you need to keep anything cold.

Excellent rooms, clean, good decor, amenities, and parking. The hotel has a reading room where you can also work with their excellent wifi speed… the restaurant is open from 7 AM to 10 PM with a good menu and quality. The staff is courteous, friendly and helpful. Location is very centric, at the corner you can rent a bike from the city, there is a metro station as well, banks, convenient stores and restaurants.

The facilities were good, in great location for a fair price. The bellhop/door guys and maintenance ladies were awesome.

There are no coffee pots in the rooms, you have to request for it. Staff at the front desk weren't the most helpful, both receptionist I interacted with regarding the coffee pot and access to a printer, lack of customer service and communication skills. Short answers, would not look you at the face as if they were too busy and you were on their way. Note, after asking a different receptionist on a different day, I was giving access to a printer on the VIP business office.

Location It's old building but clean room. Lots of wall plugs which is very rare as a old building. Double pane windows blocked outside noises. Blackout curtains are also very nice. Beds were firm which we like but some people may not like them.

Drainer in the sink was not good. No fridge in the room. No ice machine so we needed ask front desk or take a bucket to the restaurant.

The hotel is old, but very well maintained. It's super clean and comfortable. The bedroom is huge and the beds and pillows are excellent. My room was very quiet and the air conditioning was ok. But the best of all is the location: in the heart of the historical district, walking distante from most important churches and attractions. Lots of cafés and restaurants, as well as many Oxxos (local 24hour service supermarkets. It was a great choice. I strongly recommend the hotel breakfast (the option "norteño" ... a real local, tasty and healthy breakfast for around US$10 !).

The staff is very friendly, but it would be nice if they were a little bit more proactively in telling guests about the super good touristic attractions nearby. Another minor problem: they don't offer plug adaptors. I had to go out to buy one

The room was clean, modern, and had its own air conditioner which you could control. The area surrounding the hotel is a working neighborhood, which means it is not posh but close to all the historical centro sites. The hotel restaurant has a very nice menu and the staff is lovely. We arrived quite early and they put our luggage in a locked room so we could immediately go out and begin exploring. The hotel has its own parking garage for those driving. We walked or used Uber for our trip and it was all easy.

Close to metro system, very near to the plazas where all the people gather in the evenings & close to all the historical places to visit in el centro.

The scary street people, we were followed by one but we turned the tables & followed him, he left us alone. The pillows were very uncomfortable, lumpy & hard.

Huge room, very nice and helpful staff. The breakfast (included) was amazing!!! And they have menu as well. Nice terrace to eat and a bar.

No view from the room, if you open the curtains other rooms, hallway, so no privacy. The location wasn't great for solo travelers. Near historical center, walking distance, but not a very nice neighborhood (not awful either) just not as expected...

This was our second stay at this hotel. From the moment we arrived we were happy with the hotel. The front desk clerk was able to communicate in English and was very helpful with directions to the central area of town. The rooms are clean, large and well laid out. the bathroom is large with wonderful showers and the complementary breakfast is amazing. It is an easy walk into the downtown area and we felt we had excellent value for our money.
