The big entrance of the hotel with the beautiful ceiling, elevators and inside balconies makes it one of the most stylish hotels I’ve ever slept. Staff is very kind and the room is big and comfortable with a nice welcoming surprise in the room.

Breakfast is luxurious with a beautiful terrace view on the zocalo but still a bit overpriced when it’s not included in the reservation. It’ll cost 30 euro’s per person. The bed is (too) short for tall people.

Beautiful hotel right in the heart of Mexico City. Perfect location for travellers to base and explore this vibrant, crazy, lovely city. Arriving at the hotel the staff were just great, carrying bags, helping with recommendations, booking taxis etc. our room was massive, no real view but two huge comfy double beds for our family of four. Coffee machine in the room and water bottles available to grab on each floor throughout the day, as well as apples. The reception area is the star of the show here, and the ride in the old lift that starred in the opening scenes of Spectre with Daniel Craig. A must see for the lift and the roof, even if you don’t stay there. But I would wholeheartedly recommend this place. We stayed there for 3 nights when we arrived in CDMX and it’s a safe area, great for food and shopping.

No real lounge or place to chill apart from your room. We didn’t use the bar or have breakfast there so can’t comment on those

We stated at the Gran Hotel Cuidad for 4 nights. It was a great experience. The hotel is beautiful, and the location cannot be beat – right on Zocalo square. The outdoor covered terrace on the rooftop overlooked Zocalo and was a wonderful location for breakfast and late-night drinks. The staff was gracious, especially one of the door stewards Victor. They helped us line up things to do and made good suggestions for restaurants and shopping. And, of course, we also spent time trying to see where parts of the James Bond film were shot! We will stay there again the next time we are in Mexico City.

Stayed in a junior suite. We didn't dislike anything! For the price, though, we would have expected more than one capsule of caffeinated coffee in the room. (We were able to get more at the front desk). Evening turndown service would also have been nice. Other than that, a great stay.

Beautiful Hotel, spacious, very helpful staff. Shout out to the staff at the registration Cynthia and Rosa, very informative and helpful. We arrived early and our rooms were not ready, they help us with our luggage and we were given the choice to go to their restaurant Terazza, with a view of the Zocalo. We were able to relax while we savour Mexican breakfast cuisine. Our room was a junior suite, corner room . It was more space than expected, with view of the Zocalo, doors open to the outside , which gives us a breath of fresh air day or night, whenever I want. Room it self is beautiful and very efficient, from sheer curtains to block shades for privacy, the bathroom was very spacious, no complaints there….mini refrigerator and big closet, ironing board, my comfort was beyond expectation.

None.

We were located on the 3rd floor in room #306 a very large and grand room facing the Zocolo. Our view was spectacular and could open the tall doors facing the Zocolo and step out onto a small veranda in order to listen to music in the evenings or parades or whatever was happening in the very busy Zocolo. Once the doors were closed and the shades lowered we were never bothered by outside noise or lights. We ate several dinners at the roof top restaurant and each were delicious, the view maybe the best in Mexico City was worth the cost of the meal alone. The staff could not be more helpful and courteous. The doormen advised us on everything we wanted to know about neighborhoods, restaurants, shopping, how to say various words in espanol you name it they all spoke english and eager to be helpful. If we ever return to CDMX we will not hesitate to stay here again.

Everything was excellent

the hotel is beautiful and everyone is so friendly and attentive. they offered to ride with the old elevators that you know from the Spectre movie which was fun. we got a free upgrade to a Master Suite and really enjoyed the spacious room, all the amenities and the view at the Zócalo. the bed is comfortable and the room offers everything you need. the breakfast buffet is huge and offers a grade variety of options.

It’s not quiet if you book a room with view at the Zocalo. we still slept well, but if you need quietness this is not for you 😅 we found the pricing pretty expensive for Mexico, $385 off season for a Wed & Thur even though we understand that this is a unique and exclusive hotel that you won’t find anywhere else.

The staff were sincerely kind - they were helpful and took time to answer all my questions without me feeling rushed. It was real luxury and they made me feel like a valued guest. The breakfast buffet was OUT OF THIS WORLD. It was SO good and the selection was incredible. The view from my room couldn't be beat - I was able to watch the concerts in the Zocalo right from my balcony. Room service was excellent and fast. The bed was comfortable and the shower had AMAZING HOT water pressure. I would stay here again in a heartbeat, and in fact, I look forward to staying here again. This was one of my favorite places I've ever stayed, and I travel often. This hotel goes above and beyond to make you feel special and valued.

Everything was fantastic! The wifi was a bit slow in my room, but there was a massive festival going on outside, so maybe others were using the wifi and that made it slow.

Amazing historical building. A treat to actually stay here. The staff are amazing in their drive to serve and make sure everything is perfect.

Be prepared for Street noise until quite late every night as it is on the pedestrian mall frequented by Buskers/street performers. The old windows don’t keep the noise out. The whole place needs a facelift, and the restaurant and coffee shop was not in use in favour of the rooftop patio/bar.

The Gran Hotel Ciudad de Mexico is a beautiful historic facility right in the historic center of the city. Every staff member we encountered was professional, courteous and helpful. The front desk staff, especially Cynthia, recognized us by name and gave excellent service. The doormen were also always welcoming as we came and went. Our room was attractive, well appointed and clean. There are many outstanding points of interest and restaurants within walking distance. We highly recommend staying in this lovely hotel.
