I can't point to any one special reason this place felt so comfortable to me, I guess it's just everything together. It's a really lovely little building and compound nestled in quiet little road. But just walk a few steps in any direction and you're in the middle of it all from lots of restaurants and marts to Avenida Tulum and Mercado 28. All the staff were always very friendly, reception staff speak English great and domestic staff were patient with my Spanish. You feel so well taken care of with the breakfast cafe combo with everything served almost immediately and with such style by the attendant - bottomless coffee, juice, daintly chopped assortment of fruit and the main meal up to you from chilaquiles to huevos rancheros (combo is 100mxn now). Always delicious too. This is also one of the few places left that clean everyday without you asking and do it at about the same time. Travelling about this past year has shown me that this is no longer the norm. And everywhere was always super clean. I honestly missed it for days after I left.

Sadly wifi was pretty bad and I would have been a lot more frustrated if I was working normally. Lots of mosquitos in the common areas too (including inside the building). Water pressure wasn't great and hot took a while to come on but I've been in a few hotels in this area at this point and seems you can't get away from bad wifi and water pressure.

The stuff were amazing: they made our stay as good as possible during hurricane Beryl. They took care of everyone in the hotel so well, wonderful people! The hotel is super basic, outdated and the location is not superb. But it's good value for money if you are on a budget.

I stayed for 4 nights and felt safe during day times. I didn’t really go out at night but been told it’s quite safe but not too late at night. Clean Location -15 mins to Ado bus station -10 mins to Walmart/ Starbucks, mercado 28, park etc -5 to bus stop R1/2 Friendly staff who speak english! :) Hot water Super fast wifi Quiet

A great place to arrive with my family (4yo child) after a long day of travel. A clean and quality bed and very friendly staff who accommodated our very late arrival (due to flight delays). So awesome that the front desk is 24hr! The hotel has a breakfast restaurant that opens early and serves delicious Mexican cuisine! It was great to start our first day with Chilaquiles. After reading the reviews of other nearby hotels, I am so thankful to have chosen this one and paying a little bit more than the others ones that had unfriendly service and sketchy beds. We even got a good sleep at Girasoles and glad for its location away from the main roads. Yes, there was construction that started early, but we still got a solid 7hr sleep before it started (out of the hotel’s control anyways). Other places seems to have noise all around from music, parties and street noise. Girasoles is so so worth it and glad we spent our first night there and will end our trip there as well. Only 10mins or so walking from the ADO bus terminal. A lot of amenities nearby (currency exchange on the route to the bus stn) Highly recommend!

Pretty much everything. Great staff, kind and attentive, breakfast service offered at the place are a plus, with several choices for a nutritious and delicious morning meal. Beds are comfortable. Location is excellent, quiet, enclosed street but near several avenues, lots of places for dine out nearby.

I will suggest to put at least one bottle of water per person in the room, also provide a small heater or a tea pot for having hot water at the room. I would also suggest add some kind of snacks for a price to be available at the dinning at nights. Apart from this, everything is great.

The room was relatively OK for the money. Clean sheets.

The bathroom was cleaned only in the important points, but there was a year worth of dust in places. I booked a duplex apartment but was given a standard room without any explanations. The lock of the room seemed extremely simple.

This is a small, basic, and good hotel in Cancun's city centre. The hotel is located in a quiet residential area and near the ADO coach station (5 min taxi or 15min walk). The staff are friendly and always willing to help. Good wifi connection. They offer a good and inexpensive "combo breakfast" in the morning. The hotel is 10 min walking from Mercado 28, with good local restaurants for sea food (El Cejas) and plenty of handicrafts shops.

There was not much pressure in the shower and one day they ran out of water. I had to go out without showering on that day.

Cancun was our first destination, making Los Girasoles our initial accommodation in Mexico. We decided against staying in the hotel zone as it seemed unnecessarily overpriced to us.It was the right choice, Everything was clean and functionally furnished. The location is excellent as restaurants, ATMs, and bus stops are within walking distance. Definitely advisable if you're looking to stay in Downtown Cancun. They also offer breakfast of you want and a water refill :).

Great location in a quiet part of downtown Cancun. Can walk to Mercado 28 & 23 and the main ADO bus station. Lots of places to eat nearby. Tours with vans can pick up at door, big busses won't fit. Super clean and friendly staff. It's an older building, facilities are dated but you can't beat the price. We stayed for a week. Catch #2 bus to go to the hotel zone, #6 takes you to the ferry terminal. We felt very safe here, even walking around late at night. (2 women)

Building is dated, shower has low pressure. Beds were a bit hard. We asked for additional pillows which they gladly provided.

economy hotel that exceeded expectation. nice breakfast available on site that was convenient and tasty. The hotel owner's family were on and actively participated in running hotel. All the staff were wonderful. Conveniently located near center of city

Constrution activiy going on in hotel,; the owner offered to place us in another room. We didn't move but appreciated his offer.
