Direct access to the beach and sleeping while hearing the sound of the waves :) Coco and Juan Carlos have gone the extra miles to accomodate my requests (thanks so much again)

The location for a woman solo traveler is not ideal if you would like to walk in the neighborhood by nite, as the road is not lighted (unless you don’t mind spending a fortune in taxis)

The most incredible location, our room was merely metres from the beach. We saw the most beautiful sunrises on the beach and the beach is lovely and long so plenty of space for everyone. The room was lovely, well air conditioned and so quiet. There are a few restaurants within easy walking distance.

We were constantly hassled to leave a tip; it didn't matter if it was the free breakfast provided or going to the bar for a cocktail where the service provided was very little, they would give you the bill and ask for a tip. If you said no you didn't want to leave a tip, they would ask why. The hotel isn't well equipped for children, the pool is deep and the menu (particularly the breakfast which you don't have a choice with) isn't geared for children.

With an exquisite view of the water we felt like we were in the sea, it was magical. each morning we watched the sun rise from the very comfortable bed. The location is perfect, in the action, outside the chaos, quiet at night (besides the roar of the ocean) and a short walk to excellent restaurants, or a quick drive to town to stock up on supplies or explore the cenotes, ruins and worlds second biggest coral reef where the snorkelling was awesome! (recommend you rent a car) - the facilities are rustic chic, very comfortable and stylish. We were pampered all the way. The staff were all incredibly helpful and friendly. I cant wait to go again!

There were some stupid guests who were rude to the staff which i found annoying, but other than that no complaints. The place is epic.

It is not my style to refer other ratings, but I find that some ratings done are offensive and not true at all. The stay has been really good, my room exceptional and relaxing. The algae (Sargasse) have been cleaned every day and our spot was the cleanest in the area, I have had one small issue with a door in my suite (I had 8 doors in the room) and it has been solved in 10 minutes. Good service and smiling people, parking in front of the hotel with the guard day and night, never felt unsafe at all, good breakfast. It is true that you can find in the morning some really little bits of banana leaves on the sofa, but the roofs are made in this way and it happened to me in Maldives and Cuba as well in 5 star resorts… I want to thank all the staff!

The hotel has a cool vibe that aligns with the "tulum" atmosphere. The room was very big and relatively clean. They offer a free yoga class every day which is pretty nice. The pool area and the Akana beach club are nice and the staff were very helpful and friendly.

The location is not ideal if you dont have a car/ dont want to pay for a taxi ( taxi prices in tulum are outrageous). It would be nice if the hotel had alternative transportation options. The room doesnt have a solid roof, it is made out of leaves so there is fallout during windy nights. Overall if you are not comfortable with bugs and crabs this might not be for you, my room was practically a zoo.

We liked the location very much. It is just in front of a very nice beach. The staff is very friendly, the included breakfast is fine, and you could order additional things if it's not enough for you. It's not a buffet, so the dishes are served for you. The pool is quite nice, as well as the little ponds you can find along the property. One of the days was rainy, and they even had umbrellas available in the hut. Although we requested it several days in advance, they could not accommodate my mother and my mother-in-law on an accessible room for their ages (+80), so at the end they gave us a suite with two rooms, which was quite nice. We liked how they solved the issue onsite. The beaches that are nearby are also quite beautiful. They recommended Playa Paraiso, and that was just even better than the already beautiful beach at the hotel.

We reported three lamps which were out, but they never got around to fixing them, so the living room was a bit dark. Also, the living room did not have air conditioning, and so we had to leave the bedroom doors open for it to cool a little bit. I don't know why fans in the living room were opposite-synchronized with one of the bedrooms, so we could not have both turned on at the same time. It was quite odd. Since they are quite high, they are remote-controlled, so when we turned one on, the other would turn off and viceversa. These were really minor issues compared to the beauty of the location and all the amenities that are available. We would stay there again.

Absolutely INCREDIBLE stay at Maya Tulum. It was one of the most magical hotels I've stayed at; the pool was amazing, the beach day beds were euphoric, the rooms with outdoor showers are individual cool tubs - GLORIOUS. I truly can't get over how great it was. We will be going back next time we're in Tulum.

The food was only decent and the prices, like at every hotel, were high. Wish the music at the pool were a bit softer on weekends (they need to drown out a beach club next door which BLARES music), and varied (we heard the same song like 37 times in the few days we were there).

Most of everything , the service was great.

The pool needs more lighting at night and the music needs variety. Lounge EDM gets boring after hours of listening.

We had an amazing 3 nights, staying in a fabulous room on the beach with it's own mini pool. The room had an enormous window overlooking the beach, perfect for watching the sunrise! The hotel grounds were beautifully landscaped, with lots of areas to relax and enjoy a drink. The beach was incredible and there were plenty of areas to relax on the beds and enjoy shade when needed. The main pool was lovely for a dip and overlooking the beach. Our deal included breakfast which was delicious. We also enjoyed a lunch in the restaurant, on the beach. The evening options were limited, but it made us venture further. The hotel also offered activities such as yoga and Pilates, free to guests, which we enjoyed. A perfect start to our holiday in Yucatan!

The room was quite dark, the lighting could have been better. Minor issue!

We had a fantastic room with a private pool and we LOVED it! The property was a a calm and pleasant place to stay, perfectly located to some bars and restaurants that were walkable in the evening. A private beach and on-site amenities meant that there were plenty of places to sit and relax. The main pool was lovely and the beach bar was a fun place for a drink and snacks. Gilbert and David were great hosts and all the staff were helpful. The location was great - so glad we were on the beach and not in town.

Tulum was much more expensive than the other places we had travelled around in the Yucatan, but there were plenty of places to shop and stock up. The rooms were a bit dim, but it did make it feel comfortable too! A couple of extra lights would have been good though, and maybe some more hooks. Breakfast was ample, but the more interesting choices were extra.
