Hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast food was simple and much needed after so much seafood and Mexican cuisine.

Their beach setup could use a little more inspiration and decor. Very few umbrellas available for shade and no cabanas or anything like that. But it’s simple and just what you need…other neighboring properties have really cool setups to create that Tulum vibe

The hotel was like being in paradise, the outdoor areas are all beautiful and inside the hotel room as well. We had a partial sea view room, the views were lovely and room was very comfortable and peaceful. You can walk out from your room straight out onto the beach where there is a restaurant, bar and pool. The aesthetics of outdoors and indoors are all amazing. The staff were all so friendly and helpful, they were very welcoming and always available. Breakfast was always really good and yummy. We would definitely return!

The seaweed at this time of year is quite bad as it washes up onto the beach and is quite a lot of it, it wasn’t a big bother to us we still enjoyed being on the beach. But it makes it difficult if you want to go into the sea

No coffee available in the room. Coffee was not served until 8am. Management were very strict on not serving coffee before 8am

maybe the best room we’ve ever stayed. very spacious, clean and comfortable room with a great view and luminosity. our room was at the third floor what gave us some privacy! drinks at the bar were really good. Very close to the great beach clubs and restaurants! far enough to not listen to the noisy night!

If you have all the time and don’t wake up hungry, enjoy the view waiting about 2 hours for your breakfast to arrive. we lost all morning what made me nervous. It was winter, can’t see how they handle during the summer! it seems to me that the hotel has a lack of people management due to the fact that most of the personal were unhappy, grumpy and made no effort to be sympathetic. very different experience from other beaches in the riviera maya. some of them, probably native mexicans, were very kind but lost. the place itself is amazing but a “good vibe” is missing what makes Akkum a little down. Bathroom - hangers to towels are missing Door - privacy/ cleaning signal are missing No Frigobar Restaurant - not super good

Great facilities, great helpful staff, very boutique and beautiful. Many hotels on Tulum beach have become nightclubs and play crazy music from 5pm-2am, thankfully Akkuun is super calm and we were able to relax and enjoy our vacation.

Mattress was a bit hard to sleep on, very hard mattress, it didn't look cheap so maybe too new.

We had an amazing stay in this wonderful hotel. The staff was extremely friendly and keen to help us have a wonderful stay. The breakfast was very good: We got a plate of fruits and an additional meal which we could choose out of four from the breakfast menu. The locks at the doors are indeed not exactly stable, but in the room is a safe and nothing was removed from our room. The staff (and especially Max and Victor) were very caring and always there for a nice conversation. We would definitely come back.

woderful experience at Akkuun Tulum, we were a little bit afraid becuase of the other reviews that i had read, but when we arrived to the hotel we were amazed and here is why: super friendly staff, very comfortable beds, clean beautiful rooms with a fantastic ocean view, the food was VERY good, its a only adults hotel which probably would make you thing that it is noisy but no, its a very calm relaxing hotel, they loved our dog and in general the experience was just perfect.

The hotel was very nice and the location was perfect! Our room was very clean and housekeeping came by everyday. The outdoor area’s also looked super tidy and clean. Also a big shoutout to fredie and juan who are both working as waiters, both of them were super friendly and made us feel very welcomed.

The only downside was that in the included breakfast only black coffee, juice, fruit and oatmeal was included. So for someone who doesn’t like black coffee and neither oatmeal that was a pity.

This is a solid property in a good location at the north end of the strip. The staff were excellent. The room (13) was excellent (the view stunning). They did a good job keeping the beach clear of seaweed. The restaurant (Haana) was excellent depending on what you ordered and a very nice place to spend time, steps from your room.

I feel it was expensive for the quality. That said, my expectations were met and in the end you forget about the price tag and remember the experience so take that with a grain of salt. Perhaps keep an eye out for other options is all.

The staff was warm and welcoming and our room was delightful. We chose an ocean facing room and the walls slid open to allow the sea breezes to come in, which was just lovely. The small size of the hotel made it feel like we found a secret spot. The food at the on-site beach side restaurant was great -- get the tacos!

I wish we had a small fridge in the room to be able to hold leftovers or store water/beer. There wasn't really access to ice or an ice bucket, so we picked up ice from the shop down the road and improvised, but we made it work.
