on my first visit to Merida, I stayed in several hotels that were just ok..But when I arrived at the Gobernador I was greeted so warmly and kind. The staff here is amazing from the front desk, Julian, to the Restuarant staff Baltazar, Angel, and Roberto. Fernando and Cesar make my day everyday by greeting me by name and seeing to it that i have everything I need. The rooms are lovely and clean, the beds are so comfy and the housekeeping staff are always respectful of your privacy. You are close to everything in Centro including the Grand Plaza and plenty of shops and food close by.Paseo Montejo is just a few blocks away. The beautiful young lady at the front desk (so sorry i forgot your name) is always ready to help me and give me directions to where i need to go. I have been staying here on this second trip for a month now and I wish I could stay longer but my new apartment in Montecristo is ready and waiting for me. when I have my family visit they will definitely stay at the Gobernador.

No elevator, but that does not take anything away from this hotel also the restaurant closes at 4 everyday so late night snackers must go outside to eat late dinner

Nothing to not like for a hotel at this price in this location.No elevator but always someone to help carry bags up.Exterior rooms are nice and bright but interior are a little dark.Rooms in standard category lack character but superior rooms are very charming.

The pool and outdoor area is clean and a lovely place to spend time. Bed was comfortable and shower worked well. The location is great, it's clean and quiet. Not much you you could ask for at the cost! They have luggage room too. They provide pool towels

I like this hotel, has a great location for walking over downtown. Also I liked we have parking for the car we rent. The pool was great and also the staff.

Everything was nice, except you can not drink your own beer in the pool and the restaurant service in the pool is not that great.

The room was fine, the location perfect and the staff was nice. Great to have a pool in the city. You can park your car 100m before on the right, there is a sign.

There was a crazy amount of teenagers at the hotel.. Maybe a school trip or something. But they made a lot of noise at midnight for half an hour and early in the morning at 7. Nobody did anything about it and because the hotel has a open courtyard it was very loud.

Breakfast was very convenient at adjoining restaurant that had good food and good service. We stayed a week, but on the second day, the wait staff remembered how we liked our coffee, and they would bring it to us without asking.

The staff we absolutely delightful, couldn’t be more helpful. Location is good, the pool area is lovely.

The rooms are a little dark, as they open onto an internal corridor. But we were only there for one night so it didn’t bother us

The location was great since it was in the city centre. The hotel itself was also very nice. Room and bathroom were clean and beds were comfy. As hotel guest you even have free parking.

Everything was fine. Nothing to complain about.

We loved our stay here. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. The staff is amazing! They are so friendly and helpful. The pool area was a nice place to spend some time in the afternoon.
