We were recommended to stay here by friends and we couldn't have been more pleased with our stay. Leo, the owner, was far more than a hotelier. He was a source of great advice of what to do, where to go, where to eat (the food was some of the best we had in our trip) and everything else you could want to know. The room was delightful and had a wonderful balcony view over the small square. Although our room was on the street-front, it was quiet and peaceful. The hotel's location was excellent as well, being central and easily accessible to most popular places in Merida by foot or short car journey. Parking was very easy and we never had a problem getting a space directly outside the front of the hotel - in part because Leo ensures that there is always space for guests. In summary, don't bother looking any further for where to stay. Book here if you can and you won't be disappointed.

This was a fantastic place to stay in Merida! The friendliness and hospitality of the staff really stood out. Leo was super helpful and kind; he shared a lot of great info about local activities and restaurants, carried my luggage to my room, and greeted me by name every day. My room had everything I needed: the bed was comfy, the AC was strong, the shower got nice and hot, and I appreciated having a door to the garden area in back. The included breakfast was simple but lovely: coffee, fresh juice (like dragonfruit and passionfruit!), and a pastry from a local bakery. The common spaces have lots of seating areas and quirky decor, making it a fun space to chill in while eating breakfast or relaxing after a day of sightseeing. It's also a great location. It's facing a park and doesn't get a ton of traffic out front, which makes it quieter than other places I've stayed in Mexico. But it's also super close to everything and a quick walk to downtown and the Paseo area. I highly recommend staying here in Merida if you're looking for a small, unique place with a personal touch and an excellent location.

Leo and Augustín went above and beyond to make sure I had a wonderful & memorable trip! Leo was extremely helpful and was happy to share his knowledge of the city. He gave me a general overview of things to do in Mérida, places to see, and best restaurants. I was kept up-to-date each morning with the day's events. He even shared with me the perfect day-trip itinerary to a nearby town (Izamal)! The location of the hotel is great. You're just a short walk from the city center, as well as to some pretty amazing restaurants. The room itself was extremely clean and the AC worked great. My view of the park was an interesting touch, and you can sometimes see some dance practices and events. Noise was never an issue for me, and things are definitely quiet by 10pm. I wholeheartedly recommend this place! I would love to stay here again next time I visit the city!

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel in Mérida! From the moment I arrived, I could tell that this place is exceptionally well-managed, likely family-owned, and run with genuine care. The entire property was spotless, and the attention to detail in both cleanliness and hospitality was remarkable. Maria and Augustin, along with the rest of the staff, were incredibly warm and welcoming. They not only made me feel at home but also went out of their way to provide great recommendations on what to see and do in the city. Thanks to them, I was able to explore some hidden gems and truly experience the best of Mérida. The rooms had so many personal touches that made my stay even more special—far beyond what you’d expect from a standard hotel. It felt like every detail was thoughtfully curated to ensure comfort and charm. If you’re looking for a place that combines exceptional hospitality, cleanliness, and a welcoming atmosphere, this is the perfect spot. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Mérida!

We cannot say enough wonderful things about Hotel La Piazzetta, Leo, and the entire staff. I have never felt more "hosted" at a hotel or airbnb before. Leo and his staff have a tremendous knowledge of the city and excursions in the area. Knowing they were available for restaurant, shopping, and transportation questions made our time in Mérida so much more enjoyable. The rooms are spotless and very comfortable. Every evening we came down to read in the lobby and Leo was always ready with a glass of lemon water to refresh us. Truly a one of a kind hospitality experience -- I can't imagine a better place to stay in Mérida.

Back to La Piazzetta for the second time and it was the best decision during our roadtrip in the Yucatan Peninsula! I remembered Piazzetta being a family-owned hotel in a beautiful setting with traditional rooms, lovely views and welcoming people! Our stay exceeded my expectations! We were welcomed by Leo (the owner) and it immediately felt we came back to visit old friends! Leo helped us and gave us recommendations of what not to be missed that same evening and the day after, restaurant options and must-do's! The room was big enough for four people (we were with three) and it had all the needed amenities! Perfectly clean and comfortable. We highly appreciated the coffee/juice/brioche mini breakfast offered the morning after, the help with carrying the luggage and the attention to details. We were quite sad we only booked for 1 night but it's definitely a place I would be returning in the future! Still lots to see in the area and such a beautiful welcoming place does make the whole experience much much better!

We loved everything about this place: it is soo beautiful, super clean, great location, perfect to detail. Great parking situation too. The owner (and the whole team) is super friendly, helpful and gave us advice on everything that might be interesting for us. Super cute kittens and even (though officially not included) a little breakfast with delicious coffee, fresh juice and cake. Oh and the great jungle garden! We planned to stay 3 nights, but returned for 3 more. We already miss it again. By far the best place we stayed at in Mexico. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

In the hustle and bustle of Merida, this is an oasis of tranquility, with eclectic design choices throughout and two palm-filled terraces for relaxation. The high quality of the furnishings and decor in the rooms lends a luxury Boho vibe. Comfortable beds too. The hotel managers are true hosts, offering a warm welcome, great local advice and a lovely snack and drink in the morning.

The price is quite high compared to other Merida hotels, especially as it doesn't have a pool and is a bit of a walk from the main attractions.

The atmosphere of being more than a guest and th ambience of th facility. La Piazzetta was an important aspect of and contributor to our positive experiences in Merida. And the night staff are helpful, affable while giving a sense of security, not that there are any such issues in the vicinity.

Now I’m scratching my head because I more than at home, especially with the collection of artefacts. Perhaps the excellent espresso could be 2cc longer

We like everything of this hotel. The host is super nice and helpful, giving a lot of suggestions to visit the city and where to eat or have a drink. He welcomed us with a glass of juice and his recommendation, something that we did not see in any other city we visited. The room was spacious and clear, very comfortable. I would really recommend to stay here.
