Great location - few minutes walk from all the shops/cafes in Thamel area. 20 minutes walk from Durbar Square. We didn't hear any noise from other rooms. Characterful hotel, not like modern hotels which all look the same. Cool rooftop terrace with great views. Spacious room with plenty of storage. Excellent wifi. Helpful, friendly staff.

Loud construction noise from the building next door on the first day. The quality/cost of the hotel food was not as good as dining outside in other places. Little variety for breakfast. Faulty key card so the room's electricity kept turning off after a few minutes - took 2 days to get a replacement key card. Window wouldn't close properly so it let external noise into the room (e.g. barking dogs, roosters). Soft mattress. Thin bathroom towels. Large cockroach in the room next to the bed on second morning - didn't enjoy squashing it and removing it.

Highlights of the Stay - Owner, Dolakh Thapa and family run this place well. It is a new property is in pretty good shape - The staff are friendly and helpful - Breakfast is adequate with decent spread even for vegetarians - Location is walking distance from Thamel (10 Mins), Asan Bazaar (10 Mins) and Durbar Square (15 Mins) - Mr Dolakh also helps arrange local sightseeing and excursions outside of Kathmandu - Rooms are fair sized (Not very large), Balcony is a small sit out and not a full balcony, House keeping is efficient - Kitchen is not 24 hours (expected in a boutique hotel) and food is pretty good - There were a few minor hiccups (again expected in a family run boutique hotel) but they were addressed quickly to satisfaction

The building is very beautiful, rooms are a good size, modern amenities. There is free breakfast everyday which we really appreciated. You can also have meals on the 6th floor with a great view. The 7th floor is really nice with a swing chair that overlooks the city, very beautiful. Service is also good and friendly. The location is also very good, not right smacked in the middle of Thamel, which can be very noisy and hectic, but just a 3 minute walk from the center, we enjoyed the peace and quiet. Just round the corner, there is a convenience shop, a pharmacy, a cafe, and a really good Tibetan restaurant. They also have a trekking company at the hotel where you can book day trips, multi day treks and heli rides just at the front desk!

There was not much we didn't like! Everything was very good and up to our expectations!

We loved our stay at Everest Boutique Hotel. It was our favourite accommodation in Nepal and we wish we’d had longer there. Fantastic team, great location - feels away from the hustle and bustle but so close to walk, beautiful food and room service available, restaurant with a stunning view, buffet breakfast with porridge or eggs to order, hot water, good wifi, small functional gym, comfortable beds and bedding. Great airport pick up service included in some of the deluxe room options too. Thank you for having us, we can’t recommend you highly enough!

It was all great

The Hotel is really great. I was met at airport with minimal issue - all communication via WhatsApp was very simple. It is 3 minutes walk from the busiest streets but all the better for it. Breakfast has a good selection with freshly prepared eggs at your request and proper Americano from bean coffee included. It has a small but high quality fitness studio (I used running machine happily and weights). It's very clean and room was spacious. Dolakh the manager is friendly and engaging; likewise all the other staff were polite/friendly without being overly intrusive. WiFi was strong.

This is an amazing quiet hotel 10 min walk to all the shops, restaurants and attractions Highly recommend!!! The roof top restaurant and bar have stunning views of the monkey temple, and mountain ranges, along with great food and wine. The fire pit at night is a super nice feature to sit around with a glass of wine. In between all the activities nearby, on the off time, the Gym on the top floor had such a great view of the city it was an amazing workout. The rooms are very modern and clean, with the Nepalese custom decorations and designs, with all the first world comforts. We booked a room with an outdoor terrace, stunning views of the city, and mountain ranges. Dolakh and the entire staff at the Everest boutique hotel were so nice and accommodating, it was a great experience. So looking forward to visiting again upon our return.

We booked this hotel on the basis of the positive reviews, and we were not disappointed. The room was quite comfortable, and the staff was friendly and attentive. We enjoyed the rooftop bar and restaurant and found the food to be very good, as was the breakfast. We also greatly appreciated the free airport pick-up, as well as the possibility to easily reserve an airport drop-off. The only potentially slight downside of the hotel is that it is not located in the absolute center of Thamel. However, after having once found our way along the four or five-minute walk to the shops and restaurants of Thamel, it was easy to get to and from the hotel. It is also possible that a hotel in the center of Thamel would have been too noisy, whereas this hotel is on a calm street.

Everest Boutique Hotel was welcoming and comfortable after doing a tough trek in the Annapurna area near Pokhara. We stayed at EBH before the trek too. On our return we were to a bigger and nicer room. Though for only a night, this was appreciated. The car pickup (at an extra $10, because we opted for a cheaper room) was good. The driver was friendly and efficient. We used the EBH thrice. The hotel rooms were well furnished and had all the amenities one could need. The beds and linen were good, though the mattress could be a little more firm. The rest of the hotel was also nice, especially the restaurant on the terrace. Dholak and Pradeep at the reception were warm and knowledgeable. The restaurant staff were very pleasant. The complimentary breakfast was satisfying and good. EBH is located in a small but quiet lane, very close to one end of Thamel. Thus convenient to step out to explore the locality and for dining and shopping. My friend and I will be back, if we do another trek in Nepal. Unfortunately, I have so many pics on my phone, I cannot locate the few taken in EBH!

As mentioned earlier, the mattresses could be a little more firm.

You cannot beat the location , the facilities , the level of service , the food , the rooms , the price , the staff , the excursions and .....the views from the terrace or the balcony This beautifully presented immaculate and quiet hotel is very fairly priced at 50 USD with airport pick up from excellent courteous drivers .The hotel was in touch before my flight assuring all was in place and on arrival Dholak the manager made me so genuinely welcome with his team I felt immediately in the best hands in a safe location , so I checked in for a full week instead of three nights This super safe neighbourhood is the gateway to all attractions with shops bars and eateries nearby ..My bed and balcony have a direct view if the monkey temple high above the animated local landscape. Great breakfast and great value fresh cuisine to your balcony or the terrace at fantastic prices Open view professional chefs and Meena overseeing the spotless restaurant makes the catering a real pleasure.Room service is professional , courteous and super helpful Bathrooms are spotless and rooms made over every day but wonderful house staff Dholak will set out all the best trips he offers at lower prices than the agencies on the high street with clean cars , courteous drivers and easy itineraries for trekking , mountain flights or out of town trips .A true gentleman with no fuss this is a very honest and straightforward one stop shop. Easy ! You're on holiday ! Do it all here and enjoy it all from this marvellous find . We found the breakfast enjoyable. The location in a quiet alley just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Thamel, was perfect Beds were really comfortable and the room was more spacious than we had expected.

Found it strange that the fridge power supply went off when the room key was removed from the power panel.???The fridge would defrost every time we left the room. We solved the problem by requesting a second key which remained in the power panel whenever we left the room. Leaking shower seals meant the bathroom floor was wet after every shower.
