The place is right near the busy Thamel street, which is great for a few days in the city. The rooms are wide and clean, and the bed is comfortable! Anup was very welcoming and helpful, helping me go through the day. The hotel also organised the airport pickup, which was really helpful. Thanks, Kapin!

The first morning I was there, I attended breakfast with an hour service left and the choice for breakfast was very limited. I was given a family room, the extra bed made the room feel very small. Only 1 chair in the room. Bathroom was a little bit smaller than expected but functionable. Room supplies were readily available when asked for. Good supply of complementary water.

Better availability of breakfasts or breakfast cooking to order. Zero view in A204, just an exterior wall, so the curtains were constantly closed and no sun light.

Fantastically helpful crew of young, friendly Nepalese men run this hotel. The manager is jolly and welcoming and keen to help. We had an issue with the first room offered and they happily showed us several options until we found one we liked, insisting we "must be happy". The location is great, near the edge of Thamel - the busy tourist area, nice and close to the action, but just out of the most hectic part. Walking from the hotel into Thamel, you go through a narrow lane, passing some tiny street food shops. Returning, you arrive in the hotel's pleasant garden area that is something of an oasis and an al fresco eating area for the restaurant. The restaurant has great food, reasonably priced.

Relaxing in the garden, you will probably be approached by associates of the hotel who spark up chats that lead to offers of tours of all kinds in Kathmandu and elsewhere in Nepal (Pokhara etc). This is part of travel, I guess, and if experienced, one can deal with this assertively, but there is a bit of sales pressure. That is not to say that what is on offer is not good tour product, but it's just as well to be forewarned of this experience. Be aware, there is not a lift, and many rooms are on the 2nd and 3rd floors. Staff will gladly assist with bags.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Serendipity Haven, a boutique hotel nestled in the heart of a charming coastal town. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I felt transported to a world of tranquility and sophistication. The exterior of the hotel, with its classic architecture and lush gardens, set the stage for what was to come. The lobby was a perfect blend of modern elegance and vintage charm, with high ceilings, intricate chandeliers, and cozy seating areas that invited you to relax and unwind. Check-in was a breeze, thanks to the incredibly warm and professional staff. They greeted me with genuine smiles and a refreshing welcome drink, making me feel instantly at home. The concierge was particularly helpful, offering insightful recommendations for local dining and attractions that truly enhanced my stay. My room was a sanctuary of comfort and style, featuring plush bedding, tasteful decor, and a balcony with breathtaking views of the ocean. The attention to detail was evident in every aspect, from the artisanal toiletries to the handwritten welcome note accompanied by a selection of gourmet chocolates. One of the highlights of my stay was the hotel's rooftop infinity pool. It provided a stunning vantage point to take in the panoramic views of the coastline while enjoying a refreshing swim. The poolside bar served delicious cocktails and light bites, making it the perfect spot to relax after a day of exploring. Dining at The Serendipity Haven was an unforgettable experience. The on-site restaurant, Ocean's Palette, offered a menu that celebrated local ingredients with a creative twist. Each dish was a masterpiece, beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. The breakfast buffet was equally impressive, with a wide array of options catering to every palate. The hotel also offered a variety of activities and amenities that enriched my stay.

I didn’t find anything that I dislike

Always love staying here, rooms are super comfortable, equipped with everything you need. Coffee maker, refill water daily, hot shower, cold A/C, comfortable bed and pillows. The staff service is exceptional, they are all very attentive and helpful. Abhi is a great manager. Always checking in to make sure you are happy with everything, helpful and so lovely to speak to. The hotel is located in the heart of Thamel. But I really love that it has a quiet garden to chill in, the noise from the streets can’t be heard.

The hotel is located in the heart of the tourist area, there are a lot of shops and restaurants in walking distance from here. Also most tour companies will pick up from this hotel . The hotel can also help arrange tours/activities for you, as well as airport transfers or pickup and drop-off services elsewhere. They helped arrange my 'Flight over Everest' experience, and the experience was awesome. Just one road over is the Thamel Bazar , which are little streets of shops , where you can buy souvenirs or just shop for yourself. The room was spacious and clean, and the bed was comfortable. Just note there is no elevator , so if you get a room on the upper floors, you'll have stairs to climb. I was on the 4th , but it made for great views from there. They have a wide variety on offer for their room service menu. The food both at the hotel restaurant and room service was excellent and affordable. The hotel restaurant has seating inside and also in the garden, which is really relaxing. The staff here are friendly , professional, and attentive . They are always willing to assist and answer questions one might have. They are a relatively new hotel, but their customer service is excellent, and I would definitely recommend staying here.

This is not a dislike, but just a note for anyone planning on staying here : housekeeping is not a daily service. Should you require it daily or on a particular day , you need to inform them .

For the price we paid I honestly couldn’t believe how nice this hotel is compared to others in Kathmandu. Staff were incredibly helpful, food was delicious, they offer baggage storage for when you’re on a trek, it’s clean and fairly modern, good shower and rooms have TV (with Netflix) and kettle.

Getting from Thamel centre it’s a little bit out of the way (no alley to cut through so have to go to the ring road and back on yourself), the AirPlay feature on the TV didn’t work, and the view from one of my rooms was bad… but these are really just little comments.

Tranquil Atmosphere: The serene garden provided a peaceful retreat amidst the bustling neighborhood of Thamel. Warm Hospitality: The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, enhancing the overall experience with their genuine hospitality. Convenient Location: Being situated in the heart of Thamel made it convenient to explore the vibrant surroundings and access nearby attractions. Delicious Food and Beverages: The culinary offerings, including authentic Nepalese cuisine and great cappuccino, were highlights of the stay. Reliable Wi-Fi: The hotel offered good Wi-Fi connectivity, making it easy to stay connected and get work done while away from home.

Cleanliness Concerns: While not excessively dirty, there were cleanliness issues that detracted from the overall experience. Bed Comfort: Although the beds were acceptable, they could have been more comfortable for a truly restful night's sleep.

The hotel entrance is tucked in an alley, which really is a bonus for us, I breathe a sigh of relief when I can escape from the main streets of Kathmandu. The staff were all young fellows, at first they all seemed like college age youth to me doing part time work. I asked them about it, and they were quite proud of their team. They are quick to respond, flexible, have good command of English, helped us with our bags and advised us on airport lines. They arranged for private car for us twice. One of us left at 4am and the other at 10pm. $12 each drive. Hotel is better than basic, great shower water pressure. Everything present, but not luxury. It's a great value for the money. You are just 2 mins walk from Thamel Marg.

Rooms are on the smaller side, adequate but tight with the luggage laying around. Not a big deal for the price.
