The A Train team is the friendliest team of staff I have ever encountered in a hotel in Amsterdam. I have tried quite a few city hotels and ATrain by far provides the warmest welcome and best customer service. I was due to be travelling with a colleague but they pulled out so the hotel changed my room for a double. I was early for check in, so was given a hot drink to have in their beautifully decorated seating area (it's like a museum in itself- stunning memorabilia). The team all helped each other to prepare my room so I could rest after my travels, I was more than happy to wait but the bubbly team had me in the room in 20 minutes and were great fun to chat to. The room was spotless and comfortable, the breakfast was lovely and the location is perfect if you want to access the city centre quickly. Right across the way from Amsterdam Centraal station so you can leave your bags and only need to drag them for a minute before you hop on the train back to the airport. Really strong Wifi and you can charge your phone in the seating area if you have checked out and need to use the facilities. Thank you to the team at ATrain for making my stay so memorable.

All and every person was very nice and helpful. The whole buliding and atmosphere is just cozy and friendly. My room was a bit smaller but very nice and clean and though my window led to the innerblock, it had its atmosphere and was nice. The location is perfect! - close to the beautiful canals, the main streets are just around the corner, many places to eat and drink around, and its closeness to the Central Station made the airport travelling very comfortable. And the train aesthetics is magical!

The price point is higher (but the location and comfort make up for it, and Amsterdam is expensive , accommodationwise). The rooms are smaller (but point above applies here also). The breakfast could be richer (but it is very tasty).

Nothing really.. but good to be aware that breakfast is basic, still made me full! Also if sirens travel past in the night it can be heard in the room, bring earplugs if you’re sensitive sleeper. It’s a very central hotel.

A have a few things to mention here. First of all, hotel manager Ali Hassan is an exceptional person -- very friendly and helpful. This is not my own opinion but I also found this out from other hotel staff who keep Ali in high regards because of his efforts during the covid crisis as he supported all of them when other hotels fired their staff. I also found out that many of the staff members in this hotel are working for over 10 years that is possibly why they work as a big family. This, I can assume, is only possible when you are dealt with respect by your hotel owner and manager. Secondly, the hotel location is exceptional. If you are arriving through train then you will further enjoy its proximity with the train station. Thirdly, the hotel has free 24-hour coffee and tea for everyone. I have travelled a lot in Europe but I haven't found such facilities even in four star hotels.

There is nothing to mention, honestly.

The location of the A-Train Hotel can’t be beat. It’s a step away from the Tram stops of Central Station, is in the heart of the Center of Amsterdam, and close to everything. The staff were the most friendly I have ever encountered and I travel a lot. They are personable, friendly, and willing to help in anyway needed. The breakfast was perfect! The beds were the most comfortable I have ever stayed in. That is saying a lot since my husband and I own a mattress company with mattresses we designed. Though small, A-Train is THE best. You won’t regret staying here.

I can’t think of one thing I didn’t like.

- The location is excellent, right next to the central train station, metro and trams - The staff is very friendly and helpful - The decor is interesting because it's all about the railways. Everything was clean and in good shape. - Breakfast is not one of those typical hotel breakfasts with a lot of variety, but it's good and had everything I wanted. I ate bread with raisins and cheese with cumin every day, delicious. It has other types of bread and bread fillings, cornflakes and a few fruit options. It has a drinks machine available 24 hours a day with a variety of coffee, tea and hot chocolate options.

- The curtains didn't fully cover the windows and so a lot of light came in the morning. Luckily I brought a blindfold. - The bed had a bottom sheet and a blanket on top. I found it strange that sometimes they just put the folded blanket on top and other times they actually made the bed.

Hotel location is great, easy to find, a 5min walk from Amsterdam Centraal, and there is a supermarket a few steps away. The best part for me was being welcomed with a cheery greeting from the staff the moment I stepped into the hotel. It instantly lifted my mood esp after a long flight. There is a dining area where we could make our coffee and eat which was very convenient. There are lifts in the building. The room had everything I need, has strong wifi, but the showers were smaller than average which I didn't mind at all.

Very clean rooms and quite unusual given the 'healthy obsession' towards trains and railroad related topics. Rooms are quite small but bigger than the typical small room Amsterdam hotels. Very conveniently located, friendly staff, decent breakfast, quiet rooms. I did enjoy my stay.

The windows of my room were open when I arrived, which I don't mind, but the hotel should provide mosquito screens in the windows because I was bothered by a mosquito during the night (he did not survive ;-)) - having windows fitted with mosquito screens would prevent this. Also, room prices for this hotel fluctuate immensely from one week to the next (sometimes 300% more for the same room if you don't book well in advance).

The staff deserve a special mention - they were all very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, well thought out and the beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was good and the brakfast room was very interesting, with its luggage racks, vintage suitcases and railway memorabilia. The location so close to the railway station was exellent, because we travelled by train. Our room was very quiet, despite being on the first floor, facing the station. Being able to leave luggage at the hotel between checking out and catching our train was great and enabled us to spend the day sightseeing before leaving the city.

There were a few things that weren't quite perfect, but they didn't stop us enjoying our stay! We struggled with the soap dispensers by the basin and in the shower. We ran out of soap, mentioned it to the staff and the dispensers were refilled, but it was still difficult to get soap out of them. The extractor fan in the bathroom was either very inefficicnt or not working, so the bathroom got very steamy. The type of hairdryer provided was not the best for blow-drying hair and this might be something to consider changing in the future.

The hotel is about 5 min by foot from the Central Train station. The airport Schiphol has a great train connection to c central station. It takes about 25 min by train. The hotel exhibits train themed decoration. Breakfast is plentyful and includes some veggies and fruits. Free coffee or tea all day. Clean, very friendly staff.

To go up to our family apartment ( sleeps 6 as long as a small child is part of the group), we had to carry our luggage up a steep and narrow set of stairs. This would not be easy for older guests.
