Location is excellent. The breakfast is good, typical of the Dutch breakfast. The staff will bring you your own bottle of coffee in the morning with some cheese and a boiled egg. You also have good selection of sandwich, bread, fresh fruit, milk, and yogurt. The dining room has good view over the museum nearby.

The toilet in the attic floor is very small and not very clean. I wish they had some disinfectant there to clean the toilet seats too. The hotel is near streets, so quite difficult for me to sleep as I could hear cars' and trams' sounds. I also found the room a bit cold and had to wear my jacket when sleeping.

Location was amazing close to everything and in a nice area. Room was very clean and bright. Bed was very comfortable and they even had extra blankets. Breakfast was also really good like a breakfast you would have at home. Overall it was a great stay.

Toilets were very tiny and it was very difficult to move around. It is also good to be beware that stairs are very steep. It was okay for me but with a heavy luggage it can be difficult.

Amazing location in the museum district. Everything was accessible via walking or public transportation (bus or tram). The continental breakfast was decent, but the breakfast room views were even better. The water temperature was great, you get instant hot water. Drinking tap water from the sink took some getting used to but turned out great. Hotel room views were good. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Overall, we had a wonderful stay.

We had to buy shampoo because only shower gel was provided and it was very drying to use on your hair. It can get pretty noisy, so we used the portable fan in the closet to drown out some of the noise (creaky stairs, thin walls, bustling city outside). The stairs were a workout that took some getting used to. We were always out of breath by the time we reached our room.

Great location right by the Rijks Museum. The staff was super friendly and the room was comfortable. It is a shared bathroom but it was kept clean and nice that the toilet and shower area were separate. Great water pressure and nice hot water in the shower. You also have your own sink in the room which was very convenient. Free breakfast included was good- coffee, boiled egg, yogurt and bread and cheese. One nice little perk was the free coffee, tea and biscuits that were available anytime in the breakfast room. Some people complain about the steep stairs, but that’s common in Europe. If you’re in good shape, it’s not a problem at all :)

I LOVED the location. I walked everywhere but there's trains and metro nearby too. Not too busy yet still close to everything. I like the old building, and the (small but more than enough) individual attic room. I like that I have my private sink (bathroom.shower shared). Great views from my little window. And I love that they have coffee & tea service all day for everyone, including some biscuits. I also enjoy that tea room for a little break from the rain. The shared bathroom wasn't an issue (even though it might be a bit small for big people, but it was ok). Shower was warm.

The carpet in the room wasn't clean, at least not thoroughly. I could see it, and also I could feel allergies as soon as I closed the attic window and go to bed. I am not saying the staff does not clean, I am sure they do, but the carpet needs more care. Also, just because it's an old building, be expected to hear everyone nearby when they leave their room.

Wonderful location, attractive common room, tasty and plentiful breakfast, and the hotel leaves Nescafé and biscuits out during the day. While the shower and toilet are shared, they were always free, clean and stocked. The hotel rents out bikes. For the price, it’s hard to beat this compact and pleasant hotel.

The toilet in the top floor is extremely narrow, to the point that turning around is challenging, and the sink is so small that it does not catch all the splashing water that occurs from normal hand washing. (There are sinks in the rooms, to be fair.)

This hotel was a pleasant surprise, well worth the price. The steep flight of stairs INTO the Hotel was a surprize, NOT something a senior with bad knees was expecting, but the hotel was well worth the climb. The traffic noise outside wasn't too bad at night, and the trams stop sometime after midnight. We loved the breakfast room, so Charming, a whimsical collection of furniture and wall art. we discovered an AMAZING Indonesian restaurant just around the corner from the hotel. Wow!

Location! Just on the square where all the best Amsterdam museums, exhibitions and concert halls are located! It’s an old picturesque building like a museum itself! Wonderful view from the windows. Coffee room in the hotel is open 24 hours and you can enjoy coffee and biscuits free. The staff is very polite, supportive, helpful, friendly, happily talkative. Just have in mind - it’s a 1 star hotel and it’s not expensive comparing with most of the hotels around, so you have to be ready to accept and some disadvantages. For instance you have to get ready for climbing a very high stairs up and be very careful while going downstairs ))) So if you have health issues or a huge heavy suitcase - not recommended! But still I really loved this place! Thank you for hospitality!

Location, room, breakfast, staff. The whole place has such character! It is within walking distance to some great restaurants and lots of museums.

Nothing, but be warned there are a lot of stairs and no elevator. I did not mind, but it may cause problems for some.

The location was excellent, right in the centre of the museum plaza. The beds were comfortable. Toilet on 4th floor is very narrow. However, the toilet on the 2nd floor is spacious. Showers are clean and shower gels are provided. As well as clean towels & face cloths. The staff are exceptionally friendly. Free coffee / tea and cookies available throughout the day. When you check out at 12pm you can leave your luggage at hotel. Upon collecting my luggage, I was even offered coffee to enjoy before headed to the airport. WONDERFUL HOTEL!

The stairs! OMG. You have to take 4 flights (excluding the stairs outside the hotel entrance) of VERY STEEP and NARROW stairs. If you are travelling with a big suitcase, you have to be very very careful. The hotel does not have extra help available. Because of the positioning of the hotel is (close to public transport points), it can be noisy up until 00:30.
