We absolutely loved Valmai House! It’s a beautiful old Vila that has been renovated but still has all of its beautiful character. The place was warm and the rooms were lovely. We had ensuites on our rooms but it wouldn’t have mattered if we didn’t as the shared bathroom was fine too. We got up to watch the rugby with other guests in the shared lounge and enjoyed it. The owner was lovely and made us feel so welcome.

Beautiful, historical NZ property, immaculately presented. Wonderful owner. The property is beautiful already, however they are further restoring it and the rooms that have been restored are so beautifully and tastefully done - preserving all the original features of the house. Easily the best value and stylish property to stay at when I was researching where to stay in Cambridge. Perfect for an overnight stay after visiting Hobitton - could have easily stayed longer. Thank you!

These are really minor points - but some hooks in the bathroom and reading lights by the beds would be great.

The accommodation was clean, comfortable and everything we needed for our stay. The beds were very comfortable and easy to sleep in.

The location of the air-conditioning unit (out of the main bedroom area) - it was in the kitchen/dining area but we acknowledge this is something not easily changed and is probably due to a change in layout.

Rubbish bins needed to be emptied every day since you didn’t have access to there big bins and recycling.As we stayed 4 nights a broom and half broom and shovel would of been good as being winter dirt and leaves would come in.

Great location. Unit 4. Warm. Full kitchen facilities but no couch, just 2 bedrooms. Perfect for a place to sleep Bathroom ... great size although dated.

Curtains in kitchen need replacing. Outside door in bedroom didnt have s curtain so street lights were shining in st night. Nowhere to relax as a family as no lounge facilities in the unit.

The location, facilities and cleanliness was excellent. The owner was super helpful and very friendly. We had some complications to our trip and she was amazing, kind and understanding at all times. The rooms are newly renovated and the main house is lovely, as are the gardens. Would totally recommend staying here and would be back!

A beautifully restored historic home with stylish rooms (we had the Queen with ensuite) - and a large modern caterer's style kitchen that guests could use anytime. Plus large dining room and lounge with Sky TV. Plenty of both off-street and on-street parking - and just a short, flat walk from the township for dinner and shopping.

The ensuite is modern and stylish but the shower is a wet-room style so be mindful of shower water escaping on to the bathroom floor

Enjoyed our stay extremely clean and a lovely place to stay. Beautiful well kept gardens so lovely.

Would of been nice to have a longer table in sun area. Also bedroom at back needs curtain on door as sun comes in morning.

Beautiful property, very clean. We stayed in a 2 bed motel unit that had been refurbished. We were attending a wedding at The Tree Church in Ohaupo and this was less than 20min drive away which suited us well.

Would be nice to have a couple of hooks in the bathroom to hang clothes on

The owner gave us a tour of the magificent old house with ornately decorated fireplaces, though we stayed in the modern addition beside it, which was very comfortable, with a convenient small kitchen.
