Central to everything we needed to be at. It was a last minute booking, Value for money especially for 4 of us. We were within walking distance of the Christchurch City, The casino & there were plenty of places by us to eat at. The veranda was cute, we sat outside and enjoyed the sun while having a few cold ones before heading out. The one bedroom apartment had plenty of room, it was hot inside, but we open the windows, the sliding door & main door to let the breeze in. Perfect fresh air oppose to using the heat pump. Amazing friendly staff.

Nicely-appointed apartment-like rooms. We've stayed here before, so came back due to the size and comfort of the rooms. The beds and pillows are extremely comfortable. Nice choice of eateries close by.

Quite noisy at night until around 11pm, due to neighbouring properties. Double-glazing would help with this, but after 11pm, it was fine. PS - I really dislike the frowny-face this site (booking dot com) has for reviewers to note things that could have been improved. This motel in no way deserves a frowny-face review. :)

Well ive stayed lot places .in christchurch.They have not been good.as soon as i walkin i can tell if its clean or not.sourthern comfort.you are first class for price.what i want is.clean smell when you first walk in.every thing was their.kitchen just great vacillitys.and all person needs.lovely clean and relaxing.great thank you so much i will be back...just a note i stayed in auckland motel close to airport.well what i got was 1teaspoon.no toaster no wine glasses.window catches broken.wS hot didnt feel safe leave open.door to out side banged all night.I came from brisbane im 72.shuttle guy expected me to carry bags up stairs to room.Im just saying thank you so much southern comfort.Because i thought that place in Auckland looked great.on booking .com.flash no.judt awful..

All was perfect.except shower nozzel had mind of its own.every thing got wet when i turned shower on.

It was central to town and the airport

The place needs some work. The shower was overflowing because the trap was blocked. The shower did overflow one night causing damage to the ceiling of the room below is. The overall condition was the kitchen was disappointing as only one hotplate and very small microwave. The room looked different to the one in the ad. Paint was peeling and the woodwork had blown in the bathroom and there was no ceiling fan in the bathroom.

For the price the room was huge, and the first to actually have a separate bedroom from the rest of the room. The bed was fantastic, again a first as many have been flat or two beds pushed together, but this one was perfect. Laundry facility was excellent as well.

I wasn't crazy about the location,but that was my poor research, not the SoCo's fault. There were a few loud neighbors and a very noisy street as well, but the security I felt in the room greatly outweighed those. Parking was also very narrow and a little hard to maneuver in when full of other cars.

The convenience of being so close to the cbd and other amenities

The email I got afterwards claiming my payment card had not made the payment despite the money going out of my account. They tried to say that my debit card was the problem but in the booking.com blurb it stated credit card eftpos (debit) cash. On further thought maybe this email was a con as I have proof themoney left my account. The bathroom was a problem being so small, but I made do and worked with what I got.

Easy to access the City Center and on the main road too. Plenty of Parking Space was available. Host was easy to speak to and very kind Spacious rooms for the price charged and the rooms and bathrooms looked very clean.

Main Road issues like, Police Sirens and Ambulance Sirens are very audible. Bathroom had a mirror placed on the sink, so had to crouch to use the same. Quite uncomfortable for a tall individual. Standing Fan operates on a turn switch timer, so had to reset the timer every hour at night.

Room was clean and warm. Spa worked amazingly. Host was welcoming when we arrived. Lots of sky channels. Room was much bigger than I thought I was booking.

Only a couple of downsides. Wifi was sporadic and wouldn't stay connected for long. But we were in a room as far away from the office as possible. Could hear glass bottles being emptied into bins multiple times and music until early hours - no fault of the accommodation but something to be aware of.

value for money, exceptionally clean. Very roomy, easy parking and great location. For a lower cost motel in Christchurch, the cleanliness of this motel was exceptional. LOVED that they still give you a bottle of real milk on arrival for coffee.

Mornings were very loud. Cleaning crew very vocal and other guests very unconcerned about waking up other guests, regardless of clearly notified noise reminders in rooms
