Terrific location, with car parking available we were able to walk to most of the central locations we needed to go and only use our car when we needed to venture further. Staff were friendly and attentive. I had an issue with the hardness of the bed, but they made an effort to locate and put on a mattress cover to help this. Very clean throughout. Daily service too for clean towels etc

For me the bed, but my husband found it ok. So really that’s personal preference. We did a lot of walking then standing watching our daughter play football, it would’ve been lovely to have more comfortable couch or chairs to sit on in the evenings. The two smallish arm chairs were practical rather than comfortable.

Free off street parking. Very spacious rooms even the bathroom. Great bed. Useful guest laundry. We self catered as I am a coeliac. A good food store a short walk away & big supermarket a short drive. Kitchen fairly well equipped, especially scissors & small parring knife which are rare in motels but often needed. Staff were excellent & attentive.

Shower pressure poor. Not sure if whole city same. A reminder that some units are upstairs & stairs are steep. Ok for us but not every one nor those with heavy luggage.

Loved the fact that our host, Kevin, took the time to give us a street map of Dunedin as this was our first visit. He also marked out all the major tourist attractions for us (which we then visited). Very helpful as we were only there overnight. Very central location, easy to find and good parking (although we had to park on the street overnight as someone had taken our park - not the hosts fault!). Comfortable, spacious room with everything we needed. Will definitely be back.

Apart from the parking issue (wasn't the hosts fault), we have no complaints at all!

We found the property very clean, our studio unit downstairs was spacious. Staff were very friendly and accommodating right from checking in to checking out. Location was great, very close to the University as we were there for Graduation and easy to walk there as we flew in from the North Island so did not feel we needed to hire a vehicle. Close to everything in town.

Not applicable as there was nothing to dislike.

My husband and I stayed here for a few days. After a long day with flight delays, we missed the Reception open hours. With this, the owner kindly made an alternative arragement for us to collect our room keys. Upon arriving into the room, we were greeted with utter warmth (heater was turned on prior to arrival) - which I very much appreciated. Everything was nice and tidy, and Sue was very informative with getting around. Room was cozy and all amenities were perfect. The location of the motel was within our needs - and everything was within walking distance. I would definately recommend Dunedin Motel and Villas to my friends, and would not hesitate to stay here again. THANK YOU! :)

Everything met our requirements.

Room was super spacious and clean, bathroom was good size and toilet was far away from the bed. We were late checking in and they left our key out and lights and heater on in our room. Only stayed one night but would stay again!

Towel rail was quite far away from shower - would be handy to have a small hook near the shower so you don't have to walk across bathroom straight after showering. Super specific but would be nice to have TV settings unlocked to set shut off timer (we like to fall asleep to noise but don't want the TV blaring all night)

We had room 10 which was large with a kitchen and large bathroom with a heated towel rail. The bed was king size and very comfortable. There was a heater which kept the whole area warm. The bathroom had recently been renovated. We parked close to the room. The on-site laundry is a bonus. The staff are helpful and friendly.

Even though we managed to get a car park both nights right outside our room there were limited car parks however there are some down where the villas are and plenty of street parking available.

Absolutely perfect rooms and accommodation. Clean, quiet and catered for all our needs. They were central to all shops, and right next to a gas station where we could get additional food etc. A quick walk to town and close to restaurants and food options.

I liked everything and have nothing terrible to say.

The host is nice and shared a local map/ direction with us.

(the 3 bedrooms house) There is only 1 bathroom + toilet in the house, we have total 4 ppl so it’s bit inconvenient. Also, the shower is right next to the bathroom door and only has shower curtain, the water might make the floor slippery. However, I know this when I booked the room so should not be a big problem. But if this could be improved, the stay will be more satisfying.

The room was spacious, very clean and comfortable. The kitchen area well equipped and all appliances were in good working order. Clean bathroom with a good shower, and comfortable bed. Sue greeted us warmly and showed us some things to do in the area and showed us the room (rather than just give us the keys) - a nice touch. Location is very central, mid way between city centre and the botanical gardens. Easy access to SH1 and the Otago peninsula road.

All good - Dunedin itself is being revamped with some of the roads in the main shopping area under construction but this didn’t impact us as we walked through the area rather than drove.
