If I could give this hotel 10 stars I would - this is the nicest most luxurious hotel I have ever stayed at. Everything was such a breeze. To the parking, the staff, the location, the value for money… just everything!!!! I am stunned at how beautiful this hotel is. The views within the hotel were breathtaking, I am just speechless. The cafe was an added bonus, the best eggs on toast I’ve had in a long time. 10/10 recommend!!!!!

Have stayed here so many times now and The Ebb continues to create an atmosphere that is a special experience. Clean, spacious and friendly staff. Love the cafe too, it caters for all with both cabinet food and off the menu.

Bed softer than my preference but beautiful, luxurious and great pillows.

Beautiful room, exquisite amenities, stunning artwork. Flawless physical environment. The housekeeping staff were fantastic- early, efficient, and obviously have exceptional standards. A real credit to the hotel.

Receptionists are rude, surly, unfriendly, and seem uninformed and disinterested in the hotel….and, hospitality in general. Fortunately, we did not need any assistance from front desk, but all the receptionists need a crash course in hospitality and the service industry. This lets the hotel down considerably. Not sure if you hire students, but that the vibe they give- it does not marry well with the standard of the rooms, and the 5 star physical representation of the hotel.

Beautiful spacious luxurious rooms. The overall design of the Hotel with the gorgeous art work and overlooking the internal gardens was stunning. Then you have the Cafe with a lovely fire and indoor outdoor flow the food is excellent and as we were there over New Year the guys working on New Year’s Day did an outstanding job given there staff numbers were light and Guest were definitely keen to dine with them. The Receptionist and another staff member jumped in to assist. A pleasure to watch young people who had managed to enjoy New Years Eve catch a few hours of sleep then work so hard to produce lovely meals all with a smile. The Receptionists are young and very interested in their Guests lives and backgrounds. The young Ladies who clean the rooms are lovely to deal with. Absolutely lovely to stay at the Ebb we loved our 4 nights and the location is excellent everything within walking distance.

We stayed at the Ebb for our daughter's graduation, and could not have chosen a better hotel. The location was fantastic - central for both the university and the Town Hall and restaurants. Also just across the road from a large mall for some retail therapy. The cafe on the ground floor was fantastic - staff were really friendly and helpful and the food and coffees were delicious. Rooms were comfortable and the hotel was quiet. Beds were super-comfy! Would definitely stay here again on our next trip to Dunedin and would recommend highly to others

Loved the beds & pillows - most comfortable pillows we've slept on and we've stayed at quite a few hotels, motels & holiday homes. The shower and water pressure were great, my mums fav were the shampoo and conditioners from Ashley & Co. The smart TV was the ultimate addition, Netflix was at our fingertips. The staff at reception and cafe were so polite and helpful (best barista made coffee we have come across). The reception entrance way from parking to rooms is unique & the art pieces on each floor are amazing. Thank you, will definitely be back and let others know as well.

There was nothing I didn’t like about the property, however a few tweaks could make a world of difference. The internet kept dropping out, TV kept stalling . No ice ? or maybe there was but couldn’t find it . Felt it a shame you had lovely artisan mini bar but no ice to compliment . Great to have an artisan tea and coffee , but honestly a proper cup of English breakfast tea would go along way ! A small side plate and knife would be handy in the room to use for cheese and crackers Stayed in a few hotels like this and a lot are providing phone chargers with alarm clock , would be really handy. If there was one in the room we couldn’t find it ?

Good location with parking. Modern and stylish rooms. Comfortable beds.

Check in system using iPad and DIY was over complicated, causing delays/queues. At this standard of hotel I expect reception staff to check me in. There was loud music in atrium every night which was disturbing and unnecessary. It is switched off by 9 o’clock but when you’re travelling you sometimes want some peace and quiet in your room.

The environment and service were perfect. I enjoyed the captivating art collection, the modern and stylish rooms, the cafe that serves delicious coffee and cuisine, and the open atrium layout. I can't remember her name, but the young lady in reception was a lifesaver the night of Saturday, 23/9. I dropped a bottle of perfume in the bathroom and it shattered. I went to reception to see if housekeeping could help clean it up but the receptionist herself came up and cleaned it. I felt bad because I had to leave to attend a 21st birthday party, which was the reason I came to Dunedin for the weekend. When I got home from the party, the bathroom was immaculate. She truly went above and beyond the call of duty and I wanted to recognise her for her exceptional care and service. THANK YOU!

The tea in the room smelled and tasted like marijuana.

Our hotel room was really lovely. Big, large bed, lovely bathroom and warm room. We had a small table and two chairs in the room too. Was really nice decor! Easy to find the place and parking underneath the building. Very nice tea and coffee provided. Great location to town. Thai restaurant recommendation was really nice! Reception staff were super helpful :)

Hotel talked about it's 'eco' credentials, but supplied UHT milk in tiny plastic capsules as individual portions. Would have been great if they had supplied milk in a small jug or mini glass bottle so as not to waste single-use plastic. Car park is useable but not easy to navigate when there are a couple of SUVs in there! Cafe downstairs is pleasant but pricey for not much food.
