The room and property was excellent far exceeded all our expectations. Our best ever bnb stay. Coll and Leo are so lovely and welcoming. Breakfast was exceptional and generous with stewed fruits, yogurt, muselli, bread, jams, juice. comfortable bed I actually slept all night which was great for me (I have insomnia usually). beautiful nature surrounds, peaceful with only birds chirping for outside sounds no traffic. Room is very private it is detached from main house. We are absolutely coming back again.

wish we stayed longer

The semi-rural setting of the property is superb, with amazing views across the hills to the snow-covered Alps. Leo and Coll were exceptional and friendly, they made us feel at home from the minute we arrived. The room was very sunny and warm, totally adequate for our over-night stay. We enjoyed the continental breakfast supplied, with a good variety of jams. We loved this place so much and will enjoy coming back again, perhaps in a different season to check out the abundance of trees and shrubs, looking their best. The native birdlife added to the appeal, tuis, bellbirds and Kereru. Millie the dog was first to greet us, she's a treasure. Many thanks for a lovely stay, Murray and Liz

Just a longer time there to enjoy the property and talk with our hosts.

Colleen, Leo & Millie (fur baby) you are all very special people who are so lovely and welcoming. Your special touches to this delightful room are so welcome and appreciated. We should have stayed here two nights instead of only one if we had only known what a tranquil piece of paradise this place is. Your gardens are magnificent. A real credit to you both. Millie is a very special addition to your family. What a little treasure you are Millie, and she loves lots of attention and loving. You are both so kind and delightful that if there were more lovely people like you, the world would be a lovelier place to live in. Leo, we love your extensive collection of old stuff and memorabilia. Thank you Leo for 'sneaking' your wonderful feijoas in our bag. They were very much appreciated. Your accommodation was by far the best in many ways.

Incredibly clean, lovely cosy room at Colleen and Leo's property. Native birds and flowers fill the large gardens that back onto paddocks - you'll hear sheep peacefully baaing in the distance. The continental breakfast is generous and varied, and you'll enjoy the little extra touches like Colleen's homemade truffles. Ask Leo to show you his fascinating collection - it is better than many rural museums and contains some rare and unique pieces. Make sure you read the room compendium too. A very comfortable and enjoyable stay. Price could easily increase by at least $20 and still be great value.

Nothing, although be aware is not walking distance to town centre

Everything. The place was lovely, including hosts and their dog. It was located in a peaceful area. The room was spacious and comfortable. It was possible to eat breakfast in a beautiful host's garden. My wife liked that there was a bug spray. It was helpful because there was a lot of mosquitoes in the area. Hosts were really kind and helpful. We had a problem with our luggage and they lend us tools to fix it. There was no problem with the late check-in.

Colleen and Leo have such a nice quiet accommodation. We loved the garden and the hospitality, they really look after you with daily cleaning of the facilities and food provided daily too (bread, jam, butter, home made truffles, milk, cereals, fruit, tea and coffee). We went there to celebrate my partner's birthday and they brought some flowers to the door with a happy birthday note, we found it really cute and definitely were not expecting it. Awesome stay!

Excellent quiet and serene garden setting. Hosts Colleen and Leo and even Millie (the dog) were very friendly and hospitable. Enjoyed the guided tour of Leo's personal museum and our wandering around the beautiful garden filled with flowers, fruit trees, vegetables and heaps of birds - tui bellbirds and even quails! Breakfast provided was delicious and plentiful. Will definitely come back again!

Nothing of note really!

The view from our room was great, looking out at the gardens in the back yard. We were able to spend some time walking around the yeard. It was also nice to see the sheep in the background. The continental breakfast was nicely set up in our room. The Fishers were really nice.

It feels like a bit of a drive to get there, but it's not really that far.

Everything! It was only a short drive from the town centre but nothing too far. The Fishers were AMAZING hosts, even though we were a last minute booking, but they still were super friendly and hospitable and ensured we had a great stay there! They also have a dog named Milly who was super friendly and adorable as well. The room was spacious, comfortable and cozy and we really enjoyed our stay there.

Nothing, honestly

Fantastic place! What an amazing stay! Cosy room. Comfy beds. Clean and quiet! Wonderful hosts! Thank you very much, Col and Leo, for your warmhearted generosity. There is now free Wi-Fi at the place. Tipp: after Col‘s delicious breakfast have a look at Leo‘s astonishing museum. And lying in bed listen in the evening with open window to the birds in this unique garden!
