The room was spotless. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything we needed, Even an oven to warm pies and tea towels which are not usually supplied. The shower was great with lots of hot water. There is a comfortable sofa and the bed was so comfortable we had the best sleep. There is a washer and drying machine Free to use with wash powder which was a great bonus. The Owner is a Lovely lady who is very kind and helpful. I would recommend Maple Lodge Motel to everyone and all my friends and family. We stayed to visit The Hobbit film set which was remarkable. Matamata is a lovely place to stay for a few days.

Staying at Maple Lodge felt like we stumbled on a little hidden treasure. The vibes were great from the moment we entered the driveway, and being greeted by a very cute (and lazy) cat camped out at the office door was a delightful surprise. The staff were relaxed and friendly, and went those little extra steps to help make sure our stay was as comfortable as possible! The room was really comfortable (great bed with a nice level of firmness), and everything was clear and easy. Definitely staying here again next time I'm near Matamata!

We were pleasantly surprised with our stay at Maple Lodge- our room was actually a one bedroom fully functioning apartment. It was so spacious and comfortable! I wished we would have been able to stay longer. The property manager was so friendly and kind and even gave us a little jug of fresh milk for our tea and coffee. We stayed in Matamata to do as many others have and visit Hobbiton the next day. The town itself is a bit of a walk from the property but we were up for it and went in to explore a bit and have dinner. Parking was easy in a space right in from of our suite, and free. There were laundry facilities available for use, pay with coins. We fully enjoyed our stay at Maple Lodge and would absolutely recommend and book again.

When we came in, the office had already closed, however, they were very good about communicating with us how to access our room. The room was larger than I expected and the wifi had good connection! They left fresh milk in the fridge, which was a nice touch. The bed was large and comfortable and the room was well furnished. We will definitely be staying here again if we make it back to Matamata!

Very comfortable stay with nice welcoming, easy check in even earlier, easy check out. Even if it could seem a bit old, the studio is actually very comfortable, clean, well furnished ; you will find everything you need. You can cook your meals as we did. Large and comfortable bed. A nice place outside with seats. To use a washing machine is possible. We didn't use it but there is a swimming pool at rear. Quiet. Good wifi. Room in front to park the car. We recommend it.

The room I was in was incredibly spacious with plenty of room to relax, cook, get washed etc and also contained a heater which the owner of the motel had already turned on so the room was warm for when I arrived. The staff were also really welcoming and I was offered fresh towels/cloths after my first night. I was also very pleased the the laundry room was accessible free of charge.

The shower water pressure was a little bit low.

- Bed and pillows are super comfortable thus a good night sleep is nearly guaranteed. - Staff is super nice, she was expecting us and very well aware of our arrival and departure. Her recommendation about where to have dinner was also fantastic. - parking in front of each cabin is super

- the window shades are thin thus when the lights on there is not much privacy in the rooms

We enjoyed our stay for 3 nights on this cozy motel. It's a little bit old but it's clean and comfortable. We managed to cook also there when we didn't feel enough to go out. They have all kitchen stuff to use. It's only 5 minutes by car to the town centre. The receptionist Hannah is a lovely lady. It is so highly recommended if you want to stay in Matamata area.

Hana, the lady that was cleaning the motel, was so nice. Nothing was a bother for her. She helped us when we needed it. She'd only worked there a week, and it would have been a struggle without her. She helped make up for the motels deficiencies. She made the stay so much better. Shower pressure was great

There was no duvet/doona cover on the duvet/doona inners. Freaked me out. Seemed gross. Thankfully, Hana put a sheet over the top for us when we were grossed out. I've never had no cover. The motel was overpriced for what it was. It looks like it had never been updated since the 1950/1960s except for the bathroom, but it still had a shower curtain.

Staff were AMAZING. Able to check me in early. Happy for me to stay around the next day and help me with an issue I was having with my onward journey. Location is great. Rooms are really spacious with great amenities.

The rooms need a few things here and there replacing or fixing up - manager says she's hoping to get these done and it didn't affect the stay that much at all.
