Fantastic views of the countryside, bay and river. Look one way to see gorgeous sunset and turn around to see beautiful pink reflections on the other side. Everywhere smelt heavenly - a mix of jasmine & honeysuckle growing. Peaceful, relaxing, quiet. Pool was good. Friendly, helpful owners too. I would definitely go again. Very safe environment, you could leave doors & windows wide open, day & night.

Got a couple of mosquito/insect bites at dusk so had to come inside & close doors still got lovely views

The views over the Waitangi River Mouth were magnificent, the bed was very comfortable, the owner was very helpful and friendly and the location was very convenient.

The only thing that stopped it getting a higher score were the kitchen facilities. The small cooker was restrictive and there were very limited kitchen utensils. This meant that cooking was a challenge.

The staff were so lovely and friendly, the view from my room was outstanding and the room was very comfy. Loved the pool, had a fabulous morning beside it with my book. The location was great, close enough to town to enjoy the restaurants and bars, ferry to Russell and shops but far enough away from the maddening crowd. Very quiet.

The pool needs a bit of attention once the tourist market picks up. A lot of accommodation providers in Northland have been completely empty for the last year and they are just keeping their heads above water with nothing left to upgrade anything. We need to sympathise and support them if we want these business to survive for our long term enjoyment.

Loved the view from Unit 3. We really appreciated the privacy and peace and quiet. That was exceptional. Great hosts. And grateful to have a kitchen and cooking facilities

Dated decor for the price. My daughter staying in a motel in Paihia. Modern and cheaper. Couch covered with a blanket because the surface is peeling off. My great granddaughter said it was old

Fantastic location ; beautiful views , very quiet and secluded but close to Waitangi treaty grounds , restaurants, bars , shops etc Very well equipped kitchen . Very helpful host

The furnishings and fittings were very dated and mismatched

The view was amazing and the room was a decent size with clean facilities. There were incredible views from every window. It was very good value for money and we could bring our doggos.

Small issue with some ants but we sorted that. Decor was a little dated.

We didn't have breakfast offered and no milk left in refrigerator. Overall unit clean but came across some untouched spaces .

The view was INCREDIBLE - even on a rainy day. The driveway is long and step so the hotel has a very elevated outlook. The hosts were very friendly and approachable. We enjoyed out conversations with them and they made us feel very welcome. They happily loaned us a few dvds from their extensive collection which helped entertain our kids during a rainy day. The size of our unit was very generous and the rooms were well laid out and nicely furnished. Having a pool (although unheated) was an extra bonus.

We had a few old spiderwebs in the corners of the rooms and there was a long-term collection of dust in some places. We did find a piece of cracker under the bedside table and a bottle lid under the dining table. Not the end of the world though.
