We had a great time here at what was the start of our trip to the Coromandel. We were met by Alby, a more friendly, helpful person you are unlikely to meet. The room was well lit and large enough to spread out and resort our bags from the flights. The view from the window was wonderful, and sitting in the hot tub and reading on the deck made for an enjoyable stay. Although it did not cause us any problems, (and I am over seventy), be aware that the property is near the top of a steep hill, and there are a few steps to the different chalets.

What a gorgeous place this is and the view was awesome! The room was fantastic, clean and spacious, you felt like you were tucked away from the world! It was lovely and quiet and the little touches like the chocky biscuits and yummy “night cap” was wonderful. Alby was a lovely host, friendly and a wealth of knowledge about the best coffee places in town! Definitely worth a stay here in Thames.

We arrived just in time for the stunning sunset views and the very friendly host Alby was there to greet us and he is very helpful and he even left us some delicious liquor to try. We were in chalet number 3 and the views were stunning, the bed comfortable and there was plenty of space. We booked an extra night as we loved it.There are plenty of places to eat or get take away food just 5 minutes away, the fish and chips were superb, the best we’ve had.

Loved the location above the town with a great view of the Firth. Lots of trees on property so was good for bird watching and peaceful. Owner Alby was very friendly and welcoming. Simple continental breakfast was 12.50 extra person and just ok. Would suggest bringing your own.

Maybe an option for a more substantial breakfast with hard boiled eggs. Would be nice to have something like that for lactose intolerant folks.

The room being on the edge of the property with an amazing view. Easy to find, great spa, excellent wifi coverage, loved the bay window in the room and the small frypan was perfect. Loved the layout of the property. Very private if no one books room next door.

Spa lighting was minimal at night (1 switch where light faces below spa area) but was still great. Windows and sills needed a good wipe. Hot water was not as hot as we would've liked (luke warm). Room needs a dehumidifier as windows fogged easily. Rolldown blind over the entrance was a bit annoying, wooden areas need a little upgrade around the property.

Views are great, Rooms clean, fresh, neat and tidy. Bed was good - comfortable with just right level of support. Alby was really helpful and friendly. Didn't get to use the pools and the swimming pool was under maintenance (that's a good thing) but the facility looked good. Amenities in the room were on par with price point. Definitely on my return list :)

Only quibble we had (both retired) is the stairway in our unit would have been better with a banister/handrail in the middle (both sides).

Albi the host was so warm and welcoming getting us settled quickly and comfortably given the horrible weather. The cottage itself was spacious, warm and well equipped.

Unfortunately it was a really windy night and we found the room to be very noisy listening to creaking noises and trees. We didn’t sleep particularly well. I’m sure we would have had a great stay if the weather was good. That’s on us for travelling in winter though.

Amazing !!!!!!!! Esp my 1 year old Rotti baby enjoyed it so much ! I was looking for a place with a bit of serenity , quietness and this place was just perfect .I booked this for my Dogs 1st BIRTHDAY and some nice photoshoot and iam glad i chose you guys I got the Camellia chalet :) . Cleanliness on spot . I am a bit OCD when it comes to cleanliness , and have a habit of checking beneath my pillowcases and i couldn't even find a spot ;) nor on the sheets .

Nothing to be disliked ! I loved my stay and this is my fav go to spot if iam looking for a quiet spot !

The bed, the TV, the gratis baileys, the view, the amazing garden with many banana plants and sugarcane clumps, the taro, the fabulous carvings, the lovely Sharon, the view, the view, the view! I ate a couple of my yellow passionfruit from home, and threw a few seeds into the garden in the hope they will grow for this lovely tropical food garden. There was a nice swimming pool too, but we aren't swimmers. I would love to stay here again.

The buildings need a little TLC.

Host Alby was so welcoming and lovely, setting was AMAZING,. We are a family of 5 with 3 kids so it was perfect for us and our kids. Like a NZ "Bach" clean, they joined 2 units to make a big family unit. Hot tub was great, good parking, nice and clean, well set up. Very comfortable. Rustic Bach, not sleek modern but suited us perfectly and the views are to DIE for
