I had a great stay at Hotel Filip! This hotel is a self service hotel, meaning there is no front desk and you check in online and get a code to access your room. Also the rooms are only cleaned at the end of your stay. I had a small problem with my first room when I got there and send an e-mail to Hotel Filip and they were extremely quick to answer and come to my aid. I was able to change rooms within minutes and I am really happy with the quick and good service. The rooms are beautiful, well equipped and clean. The location was great for us, very close to Aker brygge which has many wonderful restaurants and bars. It is also in walking distance from the center, but also close to buses and only 10 minute walk to the metro that takes you to the airport. I would definitely consider staying there again.

A really great little apartment hotel close to the city centre, Akker Brygge and public transport links. Nice to have proper facilities in the room - fridge and dishwasher, hob and coffee machine, a table to sit at. Communal facilities include a garden, sauna and gym. Check in is really easy and efficient. The room was clean and simple. The manager was extremely helpful and responsive, when the weather was hot he brought us a fan and then moved our room to the cooler side of the building, and sorted out moving our luggage while we were out for the day. A really nice place to stay in Oslo, would absolutely stay here again.

The property is by a main road and roundabout, road traffic can be noisy at night, and without air con it’s too warm to keep the windows closed in summer.

Prefect location for the port, hop on and off bus. Walking distance into the centre. I got a bus to Oslo train station within a 2 minute walk. The hotel manager recommended the VY app to book my train to Bergen. He also gave me the ‘#’ app to book my tickets either on the tram, boat, metro or bus. Super helpful indeed. He also recommended a super lovely pub called ‘forest and brown’ which did lovely food and great beers! Had a great sleep over my 2 nights. No noise. Black out blind/curtains! Super great hot shower and heated floor. I also had a very lively window autumn view. I have already recommended this to friends and family and I will be returning for sure!

Nothing! A little cold in the main bedroom but I used the heater. The 2 single duvets were cosy but a big duvet is always nice because it saves losing one off the bed. But this is a very minor suggestion.

Hotel Filip is a apart hotel very modern, clean and in a strategic position close to restaurants and Pubs. Furniture, matress and pillow are very good. Room is spacious. The price is very competitive. Bear in mind there is no staff on site, all is automatic and you can talk with the staff on phone on or message. They are very help ful. The check in is based on a web link you must activate before 1500. After this activation you can enter inside using your mobile phone browser. Just be sure to allow the browser to activate GPS function.

Lack of hairdryer

Location is great (on the quieter side of the city), room was top quality and had the best view, kitchen was very useful, toilet was modern and very clean. Didn’t use the gym or sauna so can’t say anything about them. We had a key problem at the beginning of our stay and we called the support line, our problem was solved in 5 minutes. We would surely choose Hotel Filip for our next visit!

Housekeeping only visited our room once however maybe two times would have been better but it’s just a minor thing. Nothing important

It was a very comfortable room, and we were able to recharge after exploring the city. The ability to cook your own meal and do laundry was much appreciated, as we traveled around Norway for a while before our stop in Oslo and had missed the comforts of home. Well located as well with easy access to many places for coffee/drinks/dinner. There's no reception, but online check-in was easy.

Not major, as it was easy to resolve, but we had to rewash some of the dishes, cleaned by the previous guests. I would have appreciated the staff checking on this while cleaning before our check-in. Also, some more dishwasher tables would have been nice.

Excellent central location, but you need to learn about the local bus and tram routes from Vika Atrium and Solli in order to get round the city. The National Theatre is a major public transport interchange. Set up your card details on the Ruter App for bus, tram & metro in Oslo. UK visitors will envy this efficient, integrated public transport system. Sauna! Also gym and washing machines. Excellent manager Glen.

Overreliance on automated check-in via phone with no front desk (which I believe is being improved). We were saved by the excellent manager who was on site when we arrived and who made everything very smooth and easy. The room decor was black and grey which some might like but which we found to be too dark.

I really like the idea of having electronic check in, but in case you don't have internet or your phone has no battery, you are a bit in trouble. Anyway, we ended up using en electronic key and not the phone app to enter the room and get around. In regards to the room: we liked the facilities, the design etc. comfy beds, blackout curtains - everything needed for good sleep. Also really good to be in the shower and have a warm floor! for those who prefer to cook, we saw that there is a stove and pots, cutlery etc, but we ended up using only cups for coffee. I would also like to thank the owners for the recommendations provided via qr code, we enjoyed the breakfast! Also I liked the location of the hotel. it's not far from the beach walk and walking distance from everything.

we had some technical issues upon arrival with getting keys and understanding how to find the room and understand which room is ours. Luckily there was cleaning stuff there, so we got help (and also 2 other couples that were trying to check in at the same time). Also I think it's time to refresh the paint on the walls, but this is minor.

We were lucky to stumble upon the owner who was very sweet and talked to us for a bit. I could otherwise share what has been said in the reviews already that non-staff hotel is a bit weird. However the room was amazing, comfortable and clean. Very luxurious. The 24/7 gym and sauna is a really good extra thing.

The check in system was complicated. Too many emails and too many things to do. A simple key box would do in my opinion. At least there was a backup magnetic card in the room.

The facility was very modern and well maintained. It also had a number of amenities like work - out facilities and laundry. most everything you would want/need is within easy walking distance. Overall it was a very nice place to stay.

We asked for two beds when we booked it, but ended up getting the ubiquitous sofa-bed when we arrived. that took up most of the available room and had to be folded in and out during the stay. I would suggest the facility does not advertise the option of 2 beds for 3 travelers unless that can be confirmed and guaranteed at the time of booking. Also, the lack of any human communication other than text or email is disconcerting, but maybe that is the way of modern hotels now? I just personally don't like the impersonal nature of it, but I am and elder and don't appreciate the direction we are headed with all the technology and inhumanity.
