We was a bit worried when we turned up as it said 'Hostel', however had a private room and bathroom and felt exactly like a hotel. Room was so cute, had 3 huge beds in and looked over the garden. The place was beautiful and so quaint. Staff were beyond helpful and friendly. They always had a chat with us and helped with tours/guidance. Great location, so close to Cusco town centre, less than 5 min walk. Breakfast is all freshly made, the lady running the kitchen is a true gem and made us fresh pancakes to start the day.

Being picky, but maybe earlier breakfast times as missed out one morning as had to leave early for a trip. Most of the trips leave at 6am.

Booked for 1 night originally but ended up staying there 3 times during our stay in Aquas Callientes. Staff were super helpful and friendly, kichen staff were brilliant. The breakfast is really good, better than most im our montg in Peru. fresh cooked eggs, omelette or scrambled, with choice of fruit and fruit juice. There's free tea 24/7 and a heater in the room, nice touch. All in all, great value, siuated very close to the main square

Strggled to find things we didn't like tbh. We stayed in rooms 6 and 7, which had some road noise, but on our third visit, we stayed in room 5, which was quieter.

The staff was very nice. Check in was easy and the beds were comfortable. Breakfast was very nice with a small choice of a la carte eggs done a few ways and pancakes. Added amenities like distilled water, a couple pieces of local fruit, pen, paper and an on site minu were appreciated.

We were on the ground floor and the transfer noise from the room above was considerable, especially at 4am when ppl are getting ready for their tours. I'd recommend spending a bit more for a balcony room so this isn't an issue if you're not getting up before others. The noise from the cars passing by on the road was noticeable - at first we thought it was the wind but realized it was the traffic, even being set back quite a bit from the road.

Such a cute hotel! We loved that this hotel was so close to all of the main Cusco tourist area. The staff were super friendly and helpful! The first night we had taken blankets off of the other bed in the room so they left us a heater to keep warm. The building is really cool, hundreds of years old! Reception had informed us that due to the building being so old with thick walls the wifi might not work in our room but it still worked great. The food there was great too, you should absolutely try the brownies on the front desk - they are made with love by the hotel chef. The shower was nice and hot as well.

Sometimes was a little loud at night, due to the old doors - not a big deal we just used white noise on the nights we had to get up early for tours.

The staff was great, always helpful and with a smile. They were all great! I cannot say enough about that. The place is beautiful also, and quiet. The beds are comfortable. You will have a nice night rest.

It is some distance walking to the center, not too far but it will take a few minutes to get there. Also, be aware that it is not a handicap accessible facility. Keep this in mind if you have difficulty going up and down the stairs and if you are not stable when walking.

El Balcon is a lovely hotel. I stayed in the family suite (1 queen bed in a room, and 2 twin beds in another room) with 3 other friends. The beds were very comfortable and warm. The rooms were clean. The front desk staff was helpful. The included breakfast was delicious! They have fresh juices, dairy products, coffee, tea, fresh fruit, and choice of pancakes or eggs. I am not big on pancakes usually, but tried them and they were fantastic! Absolutely delicious that I got them for every breakfast we had at the hotel. The hotel grounds is small but beautiful. It had 2 public restrooms outside of the rooms itself which was a nice touch. Tea and filtered water was available at all times. The room had 2 space heaters if needed since the hotel doesn't have heat or AC. We did not end up needing these since the beds were so cozy. The room also had 2 extra large blankets if needed. I also enjoyed that they provided robes for each of us in the room. We did use the laundry service and it was great and inexpensive - much more convenient to use the laundry service thru hotel rather than going to a laundromat. I would stay here again. However, I do think they are other comparable options for maybe a little less price.

There are a few minor things the hotel could do to be above other similar competitors. The shower offers one included bottle of a shampoo/soap mixture. I used it and it wasn't that great. I would recommend the hotel provides shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and body lotion to elevate the guest experience. I would also recommend more towel hooks/bars and hooks on the bathroom doors to provide a space to hang a toiletry bag. The room itself was pretty dark. There was only one window in the bathroom, and one small window in the second bedroom. Not all of the overhead lights work so I would recommend the hotel ensures the lights work and are bright. Lastly I would recommend a couple of luggage racks for the room as well.

Such wonderful "Cusco-esque feel" abounds from the moment the taxi stops on the cobbled-stone single lane street right at the most unassuming front door entrance, straight through the unperturbed front-desk welcome and room check-in . . .the very beautiful photos that helped me choose El Balcon in my search months ago, revealed only in small part, the actual Beauty of the place!!! . . . The Dining Hall's Attendants are such wonderful professionals . . .the Room Service offered is exceptional!!!

Nothing.

My stay at this hotel was brief. I was headed to Machu Picchu and I needed to place to stay overnight before I got picked up by my tour operator. The hotel room was very cute, and very earthy, and loved the interior decor and the overall room layout. The beds were comfy and the hotel staff were very friendly. The hotel provides with you free filtered water and some complementary local fruits for you to enjoy. It was a nice touch. The breakfast was included in my hotel rate and it was quite satisfactory. In my opinion, this hotel is big on sustainability.

There wasn't anything that I didn't like about this place. Since my stay was brief I didn't get the opportunity to explore as much. If I were to point out something it would be the hot water in my bathroom. It felt like you would have to have the water running for a while before you could get hot water. Then again it is not a major issue for me.

El Balcón was perfect for our 4 night stay in Cuzco! María at reception was so kind and helpful. Check-in/check-out was a breeze and the property itself is stunning. Housekeeping services are available and I love that the property focuses heavily on sustainability! Breakfast was included in our stay and had a good variety of options.

The dinner menu at the onsite restaurant doesn't have many options. It wasn't the best meal I had in Cuzco, but it'll do if you're hungry and don't want to leave the property.

The hotel is beautifully set on a hill so from the first floor rooms (not the ground floor) you have a wonderful view over Cusco. The property was spotless, beds very comfy. The breakfast was amazing. The fruits selection, the eggs, teas and hot water to your 24/7 disposition. Also, you can refill your water bottle for a nominal contribution, their ecological mindset is really something unique in Peru.

well, there check in was a bit mangled - I made an error during my booking but contacted the hotel well in advance and got a written confirmation that it's ok. Upon arrival, it wasn't the case and there was a bit of a haggling back and forth, exactly what I wanted to avoid, travelling with young kids... But eventually, we found a mutually satisfactory solution and overall, the personnel was very lovely and supportive. One more thing - the wooden floors, as lovely as they are, are VERY slippery. Mind it while walking.
