We stayed here for 6 nights in total with a trek to Machu Picchu in between. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and they let us store our bags for free until we returned. The ambiance of the interior courtyard and rooms is very authentic and appealing, the beds are clean and extremely comfortable and the hotel is within walking distance from the fun and lively main square (albeit uphill on the way home). We especially enjoyed the delicious and hearty breakfasts which were included.

At night, we had to walk through an area of nightclubs to get back to this hotel from the square which seemed a little seedy but we never had an issue. Also, it can be cold in the rooms and on the breakfast porch (we were there in July) but the individual heaters warm up the rooms nicely.

The staff were very friendly and the location is great! The rooms are clean and comfortable and the breakfast/sitting terraces have amazing views. They also do take and store your luggage if you are going to Machu Pichu or another overnight hike for no extra cost!

The hotel is such, that due to the fact of it being a colonial and therefore protected house it can’t have a reception desk. Not that this was ever a problem going in or out and Manuel was very attentive with this, but it was an issue when especially at night the door bell kept ringing for customers who were checking in for the first time, or those who didn’t use their key to come in. This was a nuisance when you were trying to get some sleep before a very early wake up call to go on a demanding hike. The other negative that I would just like to point out for future, is that the bathroom had no washing soap or shampoo at neither of our stays. We only had hand soap at the second part of our stay, no soaps to wash at all the first night.

Great location, gorgeous building and warm welcome from Manuel. He contacted me the day before arrival and arranged a taxi for us. He welcomed us with coca té and gave us tips and trics. He was always available through Whatsapp for our questions. Wonderful room, but the balcony (we had room 7) was just perfect (huge and the view was breathtaking). The wonderful staff provided breakfast (you can order it the day before through a special website) at the balcony every morning, on the time we wished. The location is also perfect, a short walk to the main square.

The room itself was just a bit cramped, but it is easy to get used to that. And maybe an idea to have a (small) fridge in the room, although i realise there is not much room for that. Other than that we had an great time there, with a very cozy atmosphere.

A peaceful haven within the lively heart of the city, as soon as you open the main doors of the property you feel like you have entered another world. The balcony where you can take a very delicious breakfast is wonderful, as are the lovely staff who run it. Manuel is very helpful and super responsive. The little luxuries like bringing you morning coffee in a thermos so you can enjoy it hot, free filtered water and free hot water for tea and coffee, were truly unique and saved me so much time! After the Salkantay trek, I couldn’t have asked for a nicer place to relax at. If you can afford it, don’t miss out on this gem!

I wasn’t aware there was no reception, so I would first go looking for staff and then text Manuel who was super responsive and it was never any issue, but would have been helpful to know upfront that there is no central front desk and all communication is via WhatsApp only.

The decor and the vibe was really nice. Small and made you feel like you were in a home not a hotel. Manuel went above and beyond. He had a scale for us to weight our bags before the Inca Trail trek. We were able to store our bags there while we were in the trek. Manuel arranged for rides to and from the airport. He was a single by text whenever we needed him for anything. The hotel is also within walking distance of Plaza de Armas. Lots to do in the area!

A historic hotel of only 7 rooms in a great location. A downhill walk to the main plaza where there are many bars and restaurants. The hotel is charming, built in 1700’s. It’s quiet and comfortable, with breakfast to order. The Manager was very nice, as were the other staff.

Loved the terrace, room was clean and quiet (especially impressive because the bars are less than a block away!) and it was great to stay in a historical home.

Room was cold. The heater helped and my husband was fine but being a cold natured person, it was somewhat uncomfortable.

Everything about this place is a dream come true. Built in an old colonial home, with walls as old as the Incan empire, it truly set the tone for our Cusco adventures. Rumiwasi's attention to detail is impeccable and the manager, Manuel, made our experience as seamless as possible, from arranging airport transportation, to truly valuable recommendations to avoid any altitude complications; all of which we have followed and are glad to report no serious ailments. The hotel is located 200m away from the plaza de armas, making it easy to be where you need to be. The bedrooms are beautiful and cozy, and they smell like muña. Both our beds had hot water bottles in them, which was perfect and truly appreciated. The internet connection was stable during our stay. Breakfast was great and I would highly recommend taking it at the balcony to enjoy the city view. Ligia and Olga took genuine care of us upon arrival and on departure and we felt really taken care of. Gracias! Esperamos volver muy pronto

Everything, the staff is amazing, the location is perfect, the rooms are comfortable and clean, they have hot water and a heater (which for us was very important) I would definitely recommend Rumi Wasi and for sure we will be coming back.

Nothing, everything was good

it is beautiful and only a two-minute walk from Plaza de Armas. The staff is exceptional. Manuel is incredibly responsive and thoughtful and made our stay with complicated tour times and arrivals and departures seamless and stress free. He made wonderful restaurant suggestions and made the reservations and arranged taxis for us for all over the place. Manuel is absolutely excellent.
