Nice location in a lovely neighbourhood, amazing view. Big clean room, with comfy bed. Friendly and helpful staff. We were able to check in earlier and store our bags while doing the inca treck. Close to centre and nice walks nearby to Cristo Blanco and Sacsayhuaman.

Heating starts automatically about 8-9 pm and the first night we felt a bit cold after sunset /about 6 pm./ till heating started.

I stayed 10 days in SWYH and enjoyed my stay. I had booked a private room and I was surprised how good it was (Room Nr.9 on the upper floor), From here I had a great panoramic view of Cusco even while lying on my bed :-). But of course the view from the hostel is over all excellent. The staff is very attentive and customer driven - from the reception Desk to the kitchen. Thanks to all. Breakfast is ok. I didn´t use the kitchen utilities. I didn't use the kitchen utensils, but I noticed that people prepared some really nice dishes. The private rooms on the 2nd floor are also preferable because of the view and they are more quiet.

Everything about Samay Wasi hostel is great: Starting from the staff, who is always available to help and is very well organised. Hostel has this nice family vibe. The view from the dorm and the terrace were incredible. San Blas is a cute neighborhood and you will get to the main plaza in 10 min walk. The products served at breakfast are yummy: fresh orange juice, good bread, good coffee... Never had any issue with hot shower (good pressure, and always had very hot water), unlike in lots of other places in Cusco.

Not much to say. Be ready to walk up a few steps to get to the hostel, but nothing too hard. You'll enjoy the awesome view from the city!

For my stay in Cusco, I spent a few nights in a more expensive guesthouse, then balanced it out with a few nights in a cheaper hostel (this one, private room). I was very happy with my hostel choice. Yes, it's a hike up to it, but that's what I expected, and the reward is the amazing view. Even my bedroom window had a great view. Bed was cozy and the room was warm at night thanks to heater – it was actually warmer than the more expensive hotel I had stayed in. Shower was always hot, which is key. I also liked the cat.

The communal indoor space isn't very big. With just a few guests working on their laptops in it, every time I had to open the door to pass through, I felt like I was interrupting them. When I inquired at the front desk about the price of a driver for some ruins I wanted to visit, they didn't seem to be able to help, so I ended up just finding one on my own.

The hostel is located in the beautiful area of San Blas. Quiet, but surrounded by nice restaurants and coffee bars. The breakfast is simple but good (bread, 2 eggs, juice, coffee/tea, butter and jam), served by very kind ladies, and there is free tea all day long. Christian, the guy at the reception during the morning and early afternoon is very kind and helpful. Showers have hot water. The rooftop terrace (with great view!) and other shared areas are cosy, and there are three different guitars to use.

The rooms are quite small and so is the bathroom in the ensuite rooms (which can be a bit annoying for tall gringo’s…). Also more places to hang your clothes on would be an upgrade. The kitchen has everything you need, but is also too small for the amount of people using it. Just don’t be in a hurry if you want to use it :)

The view is incredible and the hostel has ‘home’ feeling because of the living/ dining area and the super friendly staff. Besides, the house cat is adorable and likes to cuddle. The showers are warm and the location is perfect with a lot of incredible restaurants and coffee spots in the streets next to it.

The breakfast is really basic with only bread and jam. But, the orange jus is freshly made so that’s great!

Stayed in a private room for 3 nights and one night in the dorms. Private room was great. - Hot shower - Amazing location - Staff were really helpful - Clean - Great value for money - No problems leaving early (like 3/4am) for tours such as rainbow mountain

In the dorms there was no lockers or place to put your bags so it was a maze of people’s bags all over the floor

This is my second time at Samay Wasi, it is a excellent option..it is a great value and the staff is wonderful always willing to help!! Henry is a great guy!! Plus the view from up there is excellent.

Not many things to dislike, in some nights no hot water and it is a good ways up to the San Blas neighborhood by ready to walk a bit.

The staff is very friendly, helpful, and speaks English. There is someone available 24/7. The hostel's location is excellent, surrounded by nice cafes and restaurants. The hostel itself has a terrace with a beautiful view of Cusco. Hot water for tea is available round the clock, which is great! Breakfast is very simple with bread, butter, jam, and freshly squeezed orange juice.

View are amazing, staff is very attentive, common areas good, a bit separated from the city noise.

Room and bed is nice, but bathroom isn’t very confortable to use. You better be fit to reach the hostel. (for us it was a positive thing it was a bit far from the center, but I’m Kilian Jornet)
