A beautiful hotel that has everything. The spa and the pool are just a beautiful treat. The pools, steam room, sauna, salt room and gym are outstanding. My daughter and I booked massages too and was not disappointed with the level of expertise of the therapists. Everything is outstandingly clean and well maintained. The roof top bar was a real added bonus with amazing views across the city. Located in the heart of the old town the location could not have been more perfect. Simply stunning in every way possible with the most amazing and helpful staff. The gentleman on reception was truly an absolute asset to the hotel .. he remembered us from check in (Room 317 😊and went out of his way to assist us with a very late check out as well as being super polite, professional and friendly (so sorry I didn’t take the gentleman’s name. Breakfast was incredible too with plenty of choice. All staff were professional and friendly - Many thanks to every single one of them including the cleaning team, service staff and reception team - well done you’re all amazing making our stay perfect

Beautiful hotel, fantastic location, and fantastic spa. The single room was VERY spacious, high ceilings and plenty of room to work, read, and relax. Spa is great, wonderful pool, sauna and steam room. Friendly staff that all spoke excellent English. The Ukrainian waiter in the restaurant was extremely attentive and detailed oriented, and one of the boys who showed me to my room was very friendly and provided great tips for sightseeing. The restaurant is excellent- I ate dinner here one evening and was very surprised to find that I was the only one there. Also good selection of wine. Delicious breakfast as well, and a huge bonus that it started early. Will definitely stay here again.

Would be good for the front desk to have change for visitors. Front desk were also very professional, but could be a bit warmer.

Glorious ancient building with a trendy, adjoining modern extension. All staff we met were excellent (although one at the evening reception on Thurs 6th July was not as good but still acceptable). Breakfast was fantastic and all staff were warming, kind and attentive - recommend paying for the breakfast there. The location was literally a stone's throw from the main square. The room was clean, of a good size and had a very good bathroom layout, although no bath. Just shower. Very much enjoyed the roof-top balcony access, although not able to view the street below, it was still a great experience to be able to sit out there in the early evening.

1). No hot drinking making facility in the room 2). Very few soft furnishings meant outside noise from other guests can easily transfer to the room. We heard much furniture dragging from the room above us (we were in #400) as well as guests moving about in the corridor from the lift shaft. Ear plugs are recommended.

Most of the staff were excellent and the service was impeccable. The building itself is very impressive and the location superb. Also the rooms are very good value for money. There was an excellent breakfast, although that was really very expensive. The roof terrace is excellent

The prices for breakfast and dinner I thought were far too high. The gym is incredibly limited and it’s location is in the reception area for the spa, which makes it very unappealing to use. The Spa is ok but I think the photos make it out to be better and bigger than it actually is. The bedrooms don’t have much natural light. That is part of the charm of the building being so old of course, but nonetheless did make it less motivating to spend time in the room.

Great location, right on the main square and next to the basilica. The hotel looks amazing - a nice combination of old and new. The room was large and comfortable. The bathroom was well equipped with big shower and a bathtub. The breakfast was very rich and tasty with great variety of products (eggs, vegetables, cold meat, cheese etc.) The Spa was very nice with a pool, sauna and a relaxing salt room.

The second time we visited the Spa, some little children were there using the pool. A pool in a Spa isn't suppose to be a swimming pool for children but a relaxing pool for adults.

Couldn’t have liked it more. We had a great time. We booked a superior room but it was well worth it. Service was great from the moment we arrived. We had breakfast included but were departing on our last day before breakfast opened so the hotel offered to pack us a lunch box each. Very thoughtful. Spa facilities excellent. Location excellent.

The only thing was the rooms were quite dark. I could tell this would be the case from the photos (and it suited the ambience of the place so it didn’t come as a surprise) but it was a bit too dark for us.

I have stayed at Hotel Stary several times. I was greeted at the front desk with questions about my last trip. All employees treated me like an old friend. The breakfast was better than ever. Again the waitresses and waiters were old friends. My room was wonderful and super clean. The pool is one of my favorite places in the hotel. Hotel Stary is a safe haven in the very center of Old Town Krakow.

I tried to think of something that I didn't like, but I can't think of anything.

Communication before our arrival was fantastic. Hotel arranged airport collection and a private Auschwitz tour. We then had to delay the visit by two weeks with only 48 hours notice due to a medical emergency with one of the guests. Norbert in particular was very helpful and assisted with the amending of the booking. We had a lengthy delay on the inbound flight however the driver was still at the airport to collect us. The travel company they use, MANIFOLD are outstanding. Polite drivers and very efficient. Highly recommend the hotel, for location, value for money and fantastic staff

I honestly don't know where to begin...from the moment the door opens, you are met with a beautifully designed hotel with friendly, attentive and helpful staff who assist you in a quietly efficient manner at all times. Our room, one of the suites, was so big with exquisite design and attention to detail. Breakfast gives you the opportunity to taste delicious food from the a la carte menu, or select from a wonderful array of meats, bread, fruit and pastries. The spa is a real treat and a magical way to escape. I cannot recommend this wonderful hotel enough.

Going home

I enjoyed every aspect of this hotel. The heavy wood and amber touches give the place a luxurious feeling; the spa and pool were very relaxing, the location was superb, smack in the middle of the Old Town, and the menu at breakfast was varied and expanded on the usual buffet (which they also had). Would definitely go back.

During a business call, my internet guttered a bit to the point we had to go off video. Other hotels I stayed in around Poland didn't have that problem, so it doesn't seem like a stretch to expect that.
