I enjoyed my stay at Velamar Boutique Hotel, it is well located within walking distance to some great beaches and restaurants nearby but also not deep in the heavy tourist areas where noise could have been an issue during busy season. The staff were helpful and friendly, the room was spacious and comfortable and the breakfasts were great and with a large variety to choose from. Also great to have on site private parking for guests. The water saving program where you could choose to give up a room cleaning day in exchange for a €5 voucher to use at the hotel bar for food or drinks was also a great idea.

Only issue I had in my room was some water damage coming through on one of the walls of the bedroom coming from the shower.

The room was spacious, with a mini bar/fridge, water, kettle, .coffee etc. The bed was comfy & the biggest I have ever seen. The bathroom was modern, clean with a powerful shower, shampoo & shower gel. They had a scheme whereby you were given a €5 voucher for each day you chose not to have the room cleaned. The bar prices were very reasonable. The breakfast was brilliant & the top floor location gave lovely views The pool area was peaceful, clean & plenty of sunbeds. Thankfully, there wasn't any reserving of sunbeds, which is always annoying & unnecessary.

We asked for the contents of the minibar to be taken off as we didn’t want to share our credit card details, but when arrived to the room they were still in there. Later on someone from the service entered in our room without knocking in order to remove them. I found very disturbing as we were inside the room Also our cards stopped working after one night - I understand mistakes happen but service could be improved by paying attention to these details

From the time we arrived until leaving all the staff are so helpful and looked after us so well. Lovely room had everything you need on a holiday. Breakfast was lovely particularly when you can sit outside on the balcony and enjoy the view and sun, and staff always on hand to help out if needed with coffee machines. Will definitely go back.

I decided on this hotel, mainly based on previous reviews and they certainly didn’t disappoint! I did a lot of research on previous reviews for several hotels and whilst there are hotels with better facilities, this hotels ratings on 3 particular aspects impressed me, these were: • It’s quieter location, just outside of the main Albufeira area, which can be quite busy and loud at night, but we preferred a quieter location, so this fitted the bill for us • The 2nd reason was the ratings that the staff received, they were nothing short of exemplary. Nothing was too much trouble and reception is manned 24/7, so there is always someone available, even when we checked out at 5am. The staff are an absolute credit to this place • The 3rd reason were the breakfast reviews, again an outstanding breakfast offering with a buffet style breakfast, including ‘full English’ options, a huge continental breakfast selection of meats, cheeses, fresh fruit, freshly squeezed OJ, huge selection of breads, GF options, cereals, yoghurts, fresh honey (actually dripping from a honeycomb into a pot), huge selection of fresh pastries (custard tarts, mini croissants, pancakes, pain au choc, pecan slice. *Some options above are rotated daily, to mix up the selection, ie: the cooked breakfast will rotate between mushrooms, tomatoes or quiche, but constant selection is scrambled egg, sausages, bacon, baked beans and boiled eggs. Same with the pastry and cheeses selections Finally, the breakfast clearing staff are simply outstanding, the clearing of tables is literally constant, I’ve rarely witnessed such attentive staff at breakfast and no sooner are you finished with a plate, cup or glass and it is gone, empty tables cleared very quickly. It also has an outstanding outside breakfast terrace, which although it can be a bit windy, in the summer heat, this is most welcome, we sat outside every single day

Nothing and I mean that!

Extremely large and comfortable bed, we had no complaints in relation to the comfort and size of the room. Spacious balcony was handy to have to be able to dry swimwear and pool towels everyday. The pool was very relaxing and the poolside bar had everything you could need, with an extensive drinks list and lots of great, affordable lunch options. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We had breakfast included and could not fault it, absolutely delicious every day, with plenty of options. Location was great, as taxis are very cheap if you wanted to travel into Albufeira or Vilamoura. About a 15 minute walk down to the beach, there are plenty of restaurant options. We are in the local area 4 times out of 7 nights and always had a great meal. It was nice to be away from the noise of Albufeira and so I would recommend staying in this area if you enjoy a more relaxing holiday.

Honestly? Everything! The premises were spotless, all the staff very nice and professional; beds are amaziiinnnnggg and it has got THE location. It was my birthday and the reception managed to pick up on that - they send over a bottle and a small cake! Really? You guys are the best! We were travelling with friends and requested to be allocated nearby our friends of course, at check in we were informed that we weren’t but Catherine from reception quickly adjusted that and made our week. Thank you for checking and accomodating us as we would like. We will be back 100%

Check-in was great, staff were very polite and welcoming. We got the suite which was amazing! Suite is on the top floor, very large room with living room area, bed area, desk and large bathroom. Bathrobe in the bathroom was such luxury for a three star hotel. Pool area is small but there is enough room for all guests. Cocktails and snacks by the pool are great. Breakfast at the hotel has both cold and hot selections. Great selection to make cereal bowls with fruit, peanut butter, nuts and coconut flakes. Fab! I would 100% recommend for anyone coming to Albufeira looking for a quieter area. The main strip in old town is only around 5 euro for the uber to get there. Lots of great restaurants and beaches in the area. Supermarket only 4 min walk away, very convenient.

The room cleaning was not great. Only the bed was made and towels changed, floors not swept. We found wrappers in the couch from previous guests on our first day. The only thing I would say that could be improved.

Location, excellent breakfast, friendly staff (special thanks to Natalie and Bianca), and in general good installations. We were looking for a quiet spot in Albufeira which is not easy to find, given its touristy surroundings, and the hotel was a good choice.

I didn’t like the hotel process of how to charge for the room’s frigobar content. During check in, I was told I’d need to share my credit card data to be manually copied, to cover for room expanses with frigobar, or having its content removed. Copy credit card data by handwriting and storing in a piece of paper, is not a safe practice and there are other more secure and modern ways to cover for that potential expense.

The hotel was immaculate clean , the staff was all so friendly from reception to house cleaners, at reception complementary cookies and flavoured water, to free breakfast and WiFi.. food at pool bar very nice and reasonable, pool small but enough beds for guests,entertainment piano and singer at bar, although this hotel is not central to new and old town there are nice cafes and restaurants nearby , bolt app will take you to bolt for 3 and 5 euro. The bed is huge and comfi didn't want to leave..air con is amazing .Complimentary sweet treats when leaving. Free taxi transfer to hotel, can't go wrong ! Highly recommend
