Location and the room was very nice. Staff were helpful and friendly. Towels were changed daily which was a good thing since they do not have towel dryers in bathrooms. Our room had a terrace with a pool and ocean view. Parking lot had enough space although there were some days when other guests parked their cars improperly occupying two parking spaces. Property has a restaurant and a bar.

One thing that was so outdated was the shower head. It was stationary and not in the best condition so it made washing my long hair really challenging. Breakfast was pretty basic. I would suggest serving more fresh vegetables and lettuce. Breakfast menu did not change slightly. Only vegetable option was pale tomato slices with no taste. I would not suggest dining in restaurant. Not worth the money. If you are renting a car - there are so many great restaurants a short drive from hotel where you will pay half the price including drinks ( those are not included in 30 euros per person they are requesting for dinner at the hotel restaurant).

The grounds of the hotel are exceptional. The gardens have a range of tropical plants and are well maintained. I loved the access to the beach at the bottom of the garden. Surrounded by dramatic black volcanic rock and turquoise blue seas. The staff were welcoming, professional and very helpful. Great location, Baixa beach bar is a lovely local beach. Good base as it is easy to get to all of the main beauty spots. Our bedroom was large , tasteful and clean . Large balcony which was perfect as the sun also sets in view . Caloura is a beautiful part of the island and I hope to return to this piece of heaven on earth

Unfortunately the food at the hotel was not very good, however we visited off season and the menu was reduced at this time .

This is not the first time my husband and I have vacationed at this hotel. We went again this year with purpose and were absolutely satisfied. Super attentive staff, clean rooms, service, incredibly beautiful view, amazing food and in general, the Azoreans are very hospitable people. They simply won our hearts. The hotel is located on a cliff on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean and the views from the windows are fantastic! At night we slept with the windows open and listened to the sound of the waves and the singing of the kagaro night bird. Also on site there is a swimming pool, sauna, bar, and a very beautiful lawn terrace where you can do yoga or watch the sunset. There is even a tennis court and a beach nearby. Very beautiful park area. This is our happy place. We will definitely come back here more than once; we have pleasant memories and it’s very sad to leave there. Big thank you ❤️!

Caloura Hotel is great! The property is very well maintained with a beautiful garden and pool area, many hidden places to sit and chill with a book, paths to the stony beach, beautiful green lawn. We stayed for a couple of days to cover the East side of the island, somehow it was always sunny in the Caloura Hotel, even when it was raining everywhere else. Room was spacious and comfortable and ours was facing the cliff in the West. Staff was incredibly helpful, they sent our postcards and printed our boarding passes with no issues. Stay totally worth the price.

Very expensive meals, all of them, maybe except for the brunch offer where you really do get plenty of assorted food for the price you pay. We didn't have meals with our stay, went to the dinner buffet once and it was overpriced for the selection presented. Best make your own shopping and DEFINITELY pay a visit to the Caloura bar for most exceptional seafood and grilled fish.

It was nice having the balcony looking out to the sea. The full bathtub in the bathroom (not just a shower) was also nice. Location was good for the island. People at reception were very informative about places to eat. Highly recommend the Caloura Bar down the road for fish!

Most hotels in Portugal include breakfast - this one did not. They did offer a buffet breakfast at 19 euros each, and dinner buffet at 39? euros I think. That's pretty high for breakfast, when you can go get bread at the bakery.

The hotel has a very nice view and is located outside of the busy areas but within 10-15min drive to everywhere. Thereby very convenient. The staff is friendly and the hotel is clean and feels grand.

The breakfast is expensive and therefore we did not eat at the hotel. We found some very nice restaurants in the nearby towns. Had the breakfast been a bit more affordable then it would have been a perfect stay.

Beautiful location. Hotel full of light with wonderful gardens and places to sit and look out to sea. Large and v comfortable rooms and good selection of food for breakfast and dinner. Friendly and helpful staff who greeted you with a smile whenever you met. Hi light was spotting dolphins from pool terrace. So sorry to leave.

There was a wardrobe and plenty of drawers and hooks in bathroom but a towel rail in bathroom would be useful

I loved my stay at this hotel! The ocean view from my room was breathtaking, and the sound of the waves made it so relaxing. The room was clean, comfortable, and perfectly designed for unwinding. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the restaurant served delicious food with stunning views. Being just steps from the beach was a huge bonus. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone seeking a peaceful coastal getaway!

We loved the view from our room. The property is really beautiful! We had brunch in the bar, and one order was plenty for 2 people.

While we loved the location, it is far from many things like restaurants, so you most likely will need to drive for dinner. We didn't want to pay the price for the breakfast buffet.

This is a really beautiful hotel located on the cliff with an amazing view, especially for sunset. The pool area is nice, with a snack bar. The room is super comfortable and the view from the balcony so beautiful. We particularly loved the nearby beach Baixa d'Areia. If you decide to take a bit pricey massage, it's worth it (takes place in the lovely outside area with ocean sounds...)

The breakfast was expensive. Sauna is paid, could be included in the price...
