Good location, nice, new, clean installations, generally nice staff, rich breakfast (but coffee not good as it is a machine with powder milk and so on. Authentic, good galao is missing).

I received a voucher for a free coffee at the beginning, with a cappuccino on the picture. When I went to get it, I was told that it entitled to only black coffee... I should have paid for the milk (powder milk I guess from the machine)!!! I found this more than outrageous and sadly capitalist and unhuman (I even didn't have my purse with me and anyway, it is not about the money, but the gesture). Even if the hotel's policy said so, the person should have behaved in another way I guess. Anyway, it would have been much better not to offer anything as the hotel was nice otherwise.

Location. Extremely helpful and efficient Receptionist. Especially lovely young lady that checked us in! A real asset to the hotel.

Room just a tad small. Cooked Breakfast was cold. Tables not cleared.

The staff were excellent, nothing was too much trouble they were all very helpful especially as I had to book a coach down to the Algarve as all the train drivers/workers were on strike for a month!! The breakfast was very good, nothing amazing but perfectly fine - we never went hungry 😁.

There was nothing to dislike about the hotel at all other than maybe it's location wasn't central. But only a 20 minute walk maybe? Also bit of an incident outside very early one morning to do with a night club diagonally opposite!! On the plus side it was very close to the Hop on hop off bus terminal - best value for money , cant recommend it enough.

The stay was great! The staff was very polite and helpful, the hotel is beautiful, spotless clean, and walking location from Avenida Liberdade, Praça Martins de Sá, Rossio e Coliseu dos Recreios (around 20 minutes). Good restaurants around (a friendly Nepalese one), pharmacy, bakery, even hospitals. The bedroom is small but well designed. Good range of TV channels too. Complimentary water in the bedroom, which also has a frigobar. Also breakfast was nice (highlights are black olives patês and the lemon cake) and we had complimentary coffees which was a nice touch.

Bedroom is small but well designed. The view was not great as our bedroom was on the 1st floor but it leaded to an nice open area. I didn't try the WiFi. The downside was that the blowdrier did not work.

The hotel is a short walking distance to the metro. There is also a grocery and convenience store close by. I found it to be a quieter area than some other areas I’ve stayed at in Lisbon, but I appreciated this. The room and common areas were very clean and the breakfast was great. The staff were welcoming and helpful (Beatriz, as well as the evening and morning staff.) Unfortunately, I didn’t get the names of the two gentlemen who worked in the evening and another in the morning but the brief interactions with all three and their friendly demeanour made the stay more pleasant.

There was nothing I didn’t like. But just to note, I did accidentally get locked out when going out on the hotel patio on the first floor. The patio door closed and you can’t use the hotel card to enter back in. The patio was still open for use at the time but because it was later in the evening there weren’t people in the hallway to call out. Luckily, I had my phone with me and I messaged reception who promptly came up to open the door for me.

Staff were very nice and helpful, location is good - you can walk to the center (15-20 min) or the metro is very close by (5-6 min walking) and it’s 2 quick stops to the center. You can also take the metro to/from the airport with 1 switch. Little cafes and restaurants all around as well as a supermarket around the corner and a quick market on the corner. I had a more local feel in the area, not as touristy as the center is. Room is comfortable and well designed for a small space. Everything is new! Very good value for money in my opinion.

Only a few small things - and I would still stay there again: The single room bathroom has a very small sink and while it’s good use of the space it’s awkward for anything aside from washing hands. There is a cabinet to put your toiletries underneath but no space on the sink itself. The breakfast is very basic but for the price of the stay it was expected - and it’s free but coffee lovers have to go elsewhere for that. Coffee is only Nescafé. 😊

✅The warm welcome starts with the customer oriented hotel personnel at the reception. I greatly appreciate warm welcoming of Pedro. This guy is fantastic, real professional with warm smile, willingness to help, answering multiple questions. I felt like, I met my old friend ) I wish Pedro success in pursuing his career growth and many returns from happy customers. ✅The location is on/about 10-15 walking from the main street, however, the hotel is new and that compensates the location. ✅The single room I stayed, was very clean, cozy, and there is a kettle and tea, coffee. Which is a very nice compliment from the 3* hotel. Room cleaning was great, as well as friendly personnel. ✅Breakfast was very good. ✅ I would definitely would love to come back to this hotel. And I would recommend it to solo travelers as well as family stays.

A sink in the bathroom was too tiny, water splashes. But it is not a major problem.

The hotel is more than what I expected. It has everything one needs - working air conditioning, cleanliness, and comfortable beds. The breakfast is the same every day, but on the other hand, it is completely sufficient and offers different options. The hotel is quiet and cozy, the staff is more than smiling and everyone tries to help you. A little tip - there are even a few tables on the patio where everyone can sit and drink coffee. The location of the hotel is very good. From there you can easily get to different points - metro, bus, there is a big hypermarket nearby. I recommend you to try the small restaurants that are nearby.

all is good

Our stay at The Empire Marquês Hotel was excellent. The staff were very friendly, Pedro was on duty when we arrived and was very helpful when I had issues with my debit card. He was also helpful suggesting local places to eat and drink. Breakfast was delicious with a wide range of foods on offer, cooked breakfast items, cold meat and cheese, fruit, yoghurt, cereals and a range of pastries. Just remember that sausages and bacon may be different to what you are used to. Staff kept the restaurant area clean and the food well stocked. The hotel was a little way out of the main city centre but this wasn't a problem as it was served well with several bus routes and a metro station close by at Marques de Pombol. If you're happy to walk (one of the best ways to see Lisboa) it's about a 25 minute walk into the main city centre. It was easy to get there from the Airport with a direct bus stopping at Maques de Pombol less than 10 mins walk from the hotel. There were a range of different restaurants bars and cafes close by as well as a convenience store a few mins walk away from the hotel and a small supermarket. Excellent beer at nearby CANIL. The room was as expected from the photos and was very clean, clean towels were offered each day. We had some bottled water in our room on arrival. Top tip for travelling around the city: Buy a travel card you can top up, you can use this on all the buses, metro, trams and elevador which makes it a lot cheaper. I think you can use on some boats but we didn't use this. Individual journeys can be paid for in cash on the bus but it's cheaper with a card.

Excellent service and very friendly staff! New hotel very well kept. Did not have time for breakfast on site as I had to go to the airport but staff provided a simple takeaway breakfast which was very nice (most cafes in Portugal would have not been opened at 6:30 am) so it was really nice to have it after doing the check in at the airport! Suggestion: all the new hotels must be fitted for very tall people, only!!! The towel hooks in the bathroom were very high! (Not the first time this happens).

The loose coblestones right in the middle of the hotel entrance (step from street into the hotel). Strongly recommend fixing it as it is an hazard (although it may belong to the city as it is part of the sidewalk) but... they just need to be placed back into place and locked in (much like a puzzle piece) as not to be an hazard for anyone who enters or exits the hotel!
