Very clean and the staff were very nice.

I didn’t think the neighbourhood was amazing from a tourists perspective - having spent a few days in Lisbon, I think there are betters areas to stay on holiday.

We enjoyed our stay at Vila Garden Guesthouse very much. The staff is very helpful, patient and kind. The room was perfect! We booked the suite; a very large and beautiful room with a very large balcony (with sun in the morning from approx. 9AM until 1PM / in November). The bathroom was also very nice and huge! There was a large whirlpool as well as a nice shower! If you want, the housekeeping will clean your room everyday. For us, a few times in the week we stayed, was enough. You can hang up a sign "please clean my room" or "Do not disturb". The bed was also good; not too soft and not too hard. It was also nice that there is a communal kitchen for all the guests. There is a big fridge, freezer and even a dishwasher. And also a lot of plates, cups, glasses, cutlery etc... There is also a toaster, so we could make ourselves breakfast and enjoyed our own made breakfast at our balcony. If you have a question you will get a friendly and quick response, even via whatsapp (question about what to visit in Sintra for example...) If we will visit Lisbon again, we will stay at Vila Garden Guesthouse again! And don't forget to try the bakery 'a padaria portugesa' nearby. The brownies are the best ever! There are several shops of 'a padaria portugesa' in Lisbon.

We liked everything about this place! Best stay in Portugal, during our 4 week holiday... (Together with our apartment in Lagos: HENRI'S APARTMENTS - Pateo de Santo António): also perfect, like Vila Garden Guesthouse!

We stayed at Vila Garden for 4 days. Everything was quite perfect. The hotel is located right in the middle of two metro stations within walking distance. This means that it is 3 stops away from Rossio Square, which is the center of Lisbon. The entire crew members working at the hotel are really friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Joana and other crew members.

Elevator would be nice.

Staff was really friendly and helpful. Great location, near city center and with great metro connection. Comfortable and very neat rooms.

Sound isolation could be better.

The room was very clean and the bed very comfortable. I slept like a baby. The location is ideal for public transport; it is very near a metro station so getting from/to the airport was very easy. It is also just a short (15 mins) walk from the city centre. Love the staircase with the wooden stairs and ornate bannister. It is also very convenient to some local restaurant which is a lot cheaper than city centre ones. Also very close to a good choice of coffee/pastry shops and we managed to try a different one on each or our 5 mornings there for breakfast.

The air-conditioning took a while to get going especially when the remote needed several 'presses' to activate it. Once it got going, it was good and we could set the temperature to our liking.

The staff was very friendly and helpful and we also got a free upgrade to the suite. The rooms are clean and look beautiful. Many little decorations and the star light on the ceiling was nice. The window blinds are really really good for darkening the room. The hotel is well connected with metro and bus. It's relativly quiet, considering it's location and building age. You can hear and feel the metro a little bit, which didn't concern us during our stay. We also got a little dessert and welcome chocolate due to my partners recent birthday, which was a very nice gesture.

The room was very nice, but our balcony was on the other side of the street. We could see the little garden but also hear the loud noise of some industrial air conditioners from a restaurant. BUT the windows are really isolating very well, so it didn't bother us much.

Room was very clean and comfortable. The bathroom was a great size. The staff was very accommodating. I was on the first floor and it was bit noisy. They very kindly moved me to the top floor. It double standard room comes with a mini fridge. You can also use the kitchen downstairs to cook or warm up your meals. Also the staff helped me with my luggage. Groceries, cafes, and convenience stores are within walking distance. The metro station is about a 5 minute walk. It's about 5 stops away from Baxia-Chiado area.

There's no elevator so beware if you have heavy luggage and/or mobility issues. If facing the street get some ear plugs it could be noisy. Walls are thin so you can hear other neighbors.

This property It’s a little gem . Clean , cosy and well maintained. Not in the centre but Well located. At first glance it seems to be in a dodgy area when seeing homeless and building in ruins across the road, but soon after arriving and making ourselves comfortable it has a nice feel to it.. my only objection or dislike is the fact that it doesn’t have a lift and if you happen to get a room on the 3rd or 4th floor and you are carrying luggage you will get a work out… I would like to specifically highlight Carlos at reception what a gentleman!! so accommodating and personable !. Our stay was better because of him.

Not elevator/lift in a place of four floors!!

The staff was really helpful and friendly. We received the complementary Pasteis De Nata once we arrived, which was a lovely touch. The room was very spacious and with a good sized bathroom and balcony too. The bed was comfortable. The daily housekeeping ensured everything remained clean. They were even so amazing as to have noted it was my partner's birthday on the 29th of Feb and surprised us with a complimentary bottle of champagne. The service went above and beyond and is definitely value for money.

The location was in a close proximity from the city centre but the neighbourhood wasn't very accommodating.

The location was great, the staff was super helpful. The maids also were ninjas sometimes we left the room for a short time and it was already cleaned up. We were surprised. The kitchen and the garden were nice to have available too. For the location, I was happy to not be in a tourist trap, it was really nice.

The hard bed. It felt like I was sleeping directly on springs. My room was too small but it would be good if they can provide a chair on the balcony or in the room. The only place to sit was the bed, which isn't ideal when you want to have a snack. I didn't want to make a mess where I'm sleeping.
