Small and friendly, staff were so nice, delicious breakfast especially scrambled eggs, lovely decor, quiet, very nice pool and lounging areas. Bus services just around the corner. Train station was also close by. The Hotel provided a parasol that you could take to the beach. That was a lovely idea.

There was only one chair in the bedroom.

The hotel is strategically located a few minutes from the train station, a few steps from the bus terminal, 10 minutes from the waterfront. Pleasant and helpful staff, exceptional cleanliness, good breakfast, perfect and obviously new equipment not only in the room. They recommended me a perfect taxi service to the airport. I had a wonderful holiday, thank you.

How can anyone be dissatisfied in such a place? What might he not like here?

The staff were so helpful and always keeping the facilities spotlessly clean. The pool area was ideal and had plenty of areas in the sun and shade. Our studio had two air con units that could operate independently so we could have one on in the living area that kept the bedroom cool during the night without having the noise within the bedroom It’s great that pool towels are available and replaced when you need them. Breakfast was ideal offering the continental option and scrambled eggs and bacon, juices, pastries etc.

Would have liked a balcony, but as we were on the ground floor our studio didn’t have one. It didn’t feel very private when having a shower or using the toilet when people were lying on sunloungers right outside the full length frosted glass doors in the bathroom. The coffee at breakfast is from a machine and wasn’t great, but these are very small points and didn’t spoil our stay.

lovely lovely kind staff. helped when our air conditioning wouldn’t work and when we locked ourselves out of our safe! really enjoyed that it was mostly women, felt very safe. room was very clean, great shower pressure, cleaners came every day. location was fine and the outside pool area was lovely. mini market right round the corner and everything else 10/15 mins walk away.

pool was soooo cold! no actual bar or restaurant on site but enough to be happy basically. air con didn’t go cold enough for my liking but would probably be fine for most.

absolutely amazing. staff were amazing right from the beginning till the end. very pleasant and helpful. property is in the best location you could ask. train station is just around the corner which goes to all directions and beaches as there is no beaches close in that area. and tickets are cheap. room clean and beautiful. has a power shower which was excellent. windows faced busy road but they were sound prove i believe because I didn’t hear a thing. pool area is beautiful too. they don’t serve lunch or dinner but you can order a breakfast. recommend to everyone and I would be in Olhão again I would choose only this hotel.

this hotel is better then others good hotels that I ever stayed in my life

I have stayed several times at Cidade. it’s a hidden gem as the area at first site looks a little run down but it is near the train station snd 5 minutes walk into the old town snd ferry. it has a wonderful pool and pool area the beds are fantastic as is the air conditioning . the staff are also without exception helpful very friendly and nothing seems too much of a problem for them . I think this is a fantastic hotel and will return I normally have a studio room with kitchen facilities but when I have had breakfast that has been flexible and great value too .

in the mornings housekeeping seemed to start at 9 am cleaning all the pool area hosing down the sun loungers cleaning all the pool glass etc . myself and other guests I spoke to found this really disturbing as then the whole area was wet and smelt of cleaning products it was also difficult for the cleaning ladies as they found it uncomfortable to clean round guests the pool area should be cleaned before 9 am so that’s a management issue

The entire hotel was spotless the whole time we were there. The breakfast buffet was ample, with hot food also available. The room was as we requested and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom toiletries were lovely, orange verbena scented - a real cut above the norm.

We should have asked for, but didn't, an extra chair in the bedroom so that we could both sit at the juliet balcony. A shaving mirror in the bathroom would have been handy and the wardrobe only had two small drawers which weren't really enough for a five-day stay.

I stayed here at the end of 3 weeks of interrailing around europe; I chose to stay here to treat myself with somewhere a little more expensive than the hostels and spare rooms I'd been staying in until then and I'm so glad I did pay the extra because it was so worthwhile. Lovely clean, comfortable and spacious room with a really nice bathroom and especially great shower, all the amenities I could have asked for and more, and a truly DELICIOUS breakfast. The best thing above all was the lovely hotel staff, who were exceptionally kind and accommodating. Will be coming back.

The hotel itself is nothing special, just a standard building, but that was not enough of a bother to complain about. Only thing I was sad about was that I didn't get to stay for longer! One night was simply not enough. No complaints whatsoever about the hotel or the service.

The breakfast was excellent. Our room was immaculate with a view of Olhao from the balcony. The location of the hotel is ideal and lies between the train station and the downtown. Each way a 5 minute walking distance. The staff was very friendly from the minute we entered the lobby. They answered all our questions during our stay and helped us with the transportation to the airport by calling us a taxi on our last day. All in all a superb hotel. Thanks for accommodating us.

The light was too dim in our bathroom.

I wish I could have stayed here longer. So happy I changed from where I was originally going to stay to here. Quaint, charming relaxed hotel, clean throughout. Steps away from Olhao station. Good breakfast too. But what really made the experience was the staff. All the staff I interacted with were so helpful and professional, but especially Mariane, who helped make my last day memorable. Just a very pleasant experience which I would not fail to recommend to others.
