Excellent location, close to metro/train station and just a 5 minute walk to the bus station. As we arrived by Metro and were departing on a bus we needed to be near both! Local cafes, bakeries and a lovely restaurant where we had an excellent evening meal. Very easy to find. The room was beautifully fresh with neutral decoration. The shower room was immaculate, with fluffy towels, soap/shampoo provided. There was also a hairdryer and a USB charge point in shower room.

As we were travelling in December, we hadn’t appreciated how cold the evenings would be in Portugal. There was an air heater in the bedroom, but an extra quilt or blanket would have been a great addition to offer in this room at this time of year!

A good hotel just accross the road from the Campanha railstation. Clean, good reception and bar. Staff very helpfull. Arrival early was no problem, used the facilities and left our luggage. Plenty of towels and good hot water. Reception staff spoke English and free WIFI . A good stay for overnight arrival and use of the rail station early. Taxi to the centre of Porto 10€ (Uber less 50%) and easliy accessible as taxi stand at the station. 10 minutes to the riverfront

The toilet / shower room was fine for us but very small and crampedAgain all rooms accessed by two flights of stairs, with handrail. Early morning staff spoke no English but quickly translated via their mobile phone and booked a taxi to the airport.

Excellent location. Wood-solid floors or similar, perfect for me because I am allergic. The hotel is humble but clean. The staff humble and friendly. Nothing pretentious. It is in front of the train, metro and bus station to go everywhere. They have not parking but every night we found public safe parking across the street 12 hours=1.20 € and under the train station a huge parking $10 per day. Modest typical restaurant around a train station: good inexpensive and typical food. We were 8 days in total in the hotel, back and forth from other destinations in different rooms then we saw several different rooms.

The hotel has not elevator, it is not a hotel for people with mobility problem. The interiors doors are old then you can see some of the light from the pass-way. You can heard the people walking in the pass-way, but they have exterior sound prove door and windows. The bathroom: the toilet space is tiny then you can not sit with your knees comfortable. If the fix the interiors doors, and the space in the toilet will be excellent.

It's clean, it's comfortable, and it's really well priced. Comfortable bed. Decent sized room. Good breakfast (and they opened up breakfast for us a little early on our last day so we could make our flight, which was much appreciated). Great location right opposite Campanhà station.

In our room the toilet was facing the shower cubicle and they were really close together. Not a lot of room to sit!

We stayed at the hotel when traveling from Porto to Lisbon by train in the morning. The location of the hotel in the immediate vicinity of the train station is really excellent. The staff at the hotel were extremely friendly and helpful. Another plus point was the cleanliness of the entire hotel. We can definitely recommend this hotel for travelers who are primarily looking for practical accommodation close to the train station

Our room was rather spartanly furnished. A little more decoration or a personal touch would certainly have been a benefit to the room.

Hotel is across the road from Porto Campanha railway station. trains and metro from there to the city and airport. Room was on 2nd floor. Basic but clean. WiFi worked well City tax is €2.

Long wait at check in. couple in front thought City Tax was a taxi to airport. Then when i finally got to front. receptionist took a phone call. Normally they are good but this was annoying and I just wanted sleep

We arrived in Porto with ashes falling from the skies, two days before embarking on our Camino. Daniel and hotel staff were friendly and informative. Daniel suggested we begin our Camino outside of Porto, and to also take the coastal route. This suggestion was great as it saved us the headache of walking with a lot of city traffic and the coastal route was clear and fresh for us to walk!

I booked this hotel because it is right across the street from the train station. We arrived from Pinhao in the evening, and were leaving for Evora in the morning, so it was perfect. The building is elegant inside, and the bathroom was very modern and clean, albeit small. The breakfast was very good, and there are a couple of restaurants nearby. Staff spoke excellent English, and were very friendly.

The room was very small and so were the beds. It was a tight squeeze for two people, but I really wasn’t unhappy about it because we were there such a short time.

Property is right across the Campahna train station which I needed because I arrived late at night. The room I got was very quiet and clean.

Room price too expensive for a one star hotel in a not so good area of town. Location wise it is about 30-40 minutes walk to Porto’s center so someone who spends more days in Porto might be better off spending that money on some property closer to city center

A superb location immediately opposite Porto's main railway station, also with metro and bus links. Nevertheless it is fairly quiet at night. The staff were very welcoming, helpful and friendly. Although the building is old and some of the decor is a little 'tired', the rooms are comfortable, clean and well-equipped. This cheap hotel is better than its star rating suggests; it's the third time I've stayed here and I have personally recommended it to others.

If you want modern, fashionable decor, or you struggle with stairs, this isn't the place for you. But if you're looking for somewhere that offers super value for money in a great location, choose the Poveira.
