Very quiet location, only a few minutes walk to the railway station and the main tourist area. This is a very pleasant guesthouse and garden, with cheerful staff. Very nice breakfast and dining room. Also comfortable lounge area to relax in. I must mention the nearby Metamorphosis Restaurant - an absolute gem of a place with full table service and fabulous gourmet meals for less than the cost of the burgers and chips in the tourist area. My vegetarian meals were amazing, and my companions were delighted with their fish and meat choices.

We were three adults in a room, which made it very tight and nowhere for each of us to put our things. The unexpectedly fancy shower was so high tech I didn't know which knob to turn; I'd rather they'd spent money on some hooks or rails to hang our towels up. The lighting was poor, and even with the lights and lamps turned on we could barely see reading material. Some brighter light bulbs please!

Villa dos Poetas should be a tourism destination of its own! I mean it. Guests have a chance to stay over night in the museum, library, interior paradise ... I could go on. You will have the friendliest service and all the necessary facilities to feel great. We were worried about gates (there were reviews that it may be tricky to get in with bigger car). Don't be - we did it with huge Jeep, no problem. And the best of all things - the pool, it is available around the clock, so you will have a chance to enjoy it on you own. Luxury!

Very nice hosts to welcome you and provide you with good information about the area if needed. The room was nice with a comfortable bed. Breakfast was very good, with selection of breads and all kinds of hams, cheese and sweets as well as fruits, yoghurt and drinks. Great location on walking distance to the centre. Also the surroundings inside and out of the property are nice and really fits within their style. You can walk up to the castle but we took a taxi for less than €10,00. Also, very close to the train station from where you can take a direct train to Lisbon in about 40 minutes.

Sometimes it can be bit noisy but of course since it’s an older house, it was to be expected.

We were housed in modern, self contained chalet in grounds of large, old house. Large bathroom with shower. Kitchenette with large fridge and microwave. Very comfortable large double bed. We also had our own secluded garden area.

About 300 metres from station but sharply uphill. Too near for a taxi but exhausting for two folk in their eighties lugging heavy suitcases!

The guest house is located minutes walking from the train station, which is where buses and other transports can be booked for the palaces. There are also great restaurants within walking distance. I loved that we could keep our car parked there safely while we went out and about in Sintra. The house has a lot of character and the grounds are lovely. it wasn’t warm enough for us to enjoy the pool but I’m sure it’s a wonderful facility when it’s hot. Also the staff was exceptionally friendly and communicated throughout our stay.

It’s a small details but I wished the bottom sheets on the bed were fitted sheets so that they would stay in place better.

Location was very close to the train station and taxi stands (5min walk) and laundry self-serve (6min). You will want a taxi to get up top of the mountain, trust me. Very scenic property and the interior was like a dollhouse on the main floor. We could leave luggage before check-in. Very quiet sleep. staff was very friendly and accommodated our early departure by having breakfast prepared beforehand. Water pressure was decent for second floor. Gated property and locks on front door and room door. Continental style breakfast with bread, coldcuts, cereal, fruit, jam etc. I would stay again if visiting Sintra.

Not really much to dislike here. Had a second floor room via staircase so no elevator. Should have a waste basket in room (only one in bathroom). Again, this is nothing really. My family and I really enjoyed our stay here.

We liked our stay. The location is very good, very close to the train station. The room is comfortable and spacy. Reception staff was polite and helpful. They helped us to plan our time in Sintra and allowed us to use the microwave to heat our food. It is a good place yet I'd say, overall it's a bit expensive for the value.

We weren't allowed to eat at the lobby tables during the morning - while totally empty, they were "reserved" only for guests ordering breakfast at the property. While I understand the reasons, as a family that had to eat in the room I can't appreciate that. Another issue is that it took very long time for the hot water to reach our room.

excellent location as it is a very short walk into the Centro area and very quiet at night. parking was very secure and onsite. check in was efficient and staff made good recommendations for sitgheeig and dining suggestions.

there should be an extendable mirror over the bathroom sink to facilitate shaving etc. in room 5 there is a window and the mirror is above the WC. The heating/cooling system did not work. staff tried resetting which worked for awhile but eventually it would fail. there was a small space heater in the room (???) which saved the day and kept the room warm.

Fantastic location, easy walk to station and restaurants etc. Staff were excellent - very welcoming and helpful. Great to have parking onsite and they let us park early so we could visit the sights.

Bed was too soft for our liking and perhaps needs an upgrade. Shower had good stream but was difficult to work out how to use it. Lots of dials and buttons. The room looks better in the photos but we were still really happy we stayed there.

This is a guest house which was a meeting point of all poets from past so it speaks for itself. The rooms were named after poets . Everything about this place was calm. Hostess was super helpful and we could store our luggages. Breakfast comes in a box but you can always ask for something more. Actually it is more than enough for one person. since this is a guesthouse you need to get your hot water, coffee at the common area. the rooms do not have kettle. But it’s better to sit there and sip your tea. It is my personal recommendation that if you are coming to Lisbon from abroad you must stay in Sinatra, it is a fairy tale city and few hours of day trip from Lisbon do not do justice to the place. it deserves at least two days.

The only thing which bothered me a bit was my room didn’t have the best of wi-fi. but it was again good in the common area and the other parts of the house.
