The location was very convenient for seeing the tourist attractions. Parking is not good at all but Mariana, our host, helped us find a safe place to park that was not too far for walking. Driving and parking in Sintra is not good, but we were forwarned of that. The breakfast was nice and the dining area is very pretty. We used the dining room (which has a little garden area as well as the main dining room) for a little impromptu anniversary celebration....brought our own libations and food and cleaned up when we departed that part of the property. The rooms are quite compact but manageable....a bit tight for one of the rooms that had two adults and one child. Mariana, the host, was very helpful with where to go, what to do, and making us feel welcome. We would definitely recommend The Green Chalet and would go back.

As I mentioned, the rooms and bathrooms are compact, but we organized things into the closet area and made it all work.

Excellent location- you can have a nice 20- minute walk to the historic centre of Sintra ; also, the house is only 10 minutes far from Portela station , which is very convenient to get to Rossio station in the heart of Lisbon. Our room and bathroom were sparkling clean and the whole house was tastefully furnished. The infrastructure of the neighbourhood is well developed- there are several restaurants, a market- Mercado Estefania, a small well stocked supermarket and a pharmacy.

We didn’t have breakfast because it was served at 9 am, a bit late for us. We went sightseeing very early to avoid the crowds.

A very welcoming place for you to rest from your Sintra's adventures! The rooms are small (which we were already expecting), but they are comfortable: the bed is large, and the shower is excellent, and we were able to fit all of our stuff into the closet - even our luggage (2 cabin size trolleys). The breakfast was good, with a good variety of products taking into consideration this accommodation is not a Hotel, but the breakfast felt like one. The place was gorgeous as well, full of light and cute details. The staff was kind and helpful during our whole stay. It will certainly be our first choice on our next visit :)

The only thing to point out is that our WC air extractor was not working very well, because we had to use the dehumidifier (available in the room) after the shower, which was quite big for the bathroom size.

The room was very clean. Great bathroom. The Check in process was very smooth and host communication was great and they were extremely helpful! We had an evening flight and could store our bags. The whole accommodation was beautifully decorated. Would stay again!

The only minor downside was the ventilation - our room was on the ground floor and even though they had an air purifier, the room and bathroom got quite stuffy overnight. We opened the window for a bit but it didn’t feel comfortable sleeping with it open given the ground floor location. We went in February so it wasn’t too bad but in summer it might get too hot and humid

I had a really enjoyable stay at this B&B. When I arrived much earlier than check-in time, I could move into my room right away, which was awesome. The house is super clean, nicely styled, and well maintained. The room I stayed in was comfy and clean. I really liked the smell (especially the sheets). The mattress was good too - I slept really well. The bathroom also was nice and clean (good shower), and had everything one might need in it. There is also a big wardrobe to fit in all your luggage. The breakfast was delicious and had a good selection to choose from. The Staff is courteous and helpful. The location was good - just 10 minutes from the trainstation and easy to reach. I would totally recommend to stay here if you visit Sintra.

Wonderful, relaxed mood and absolutely delicious, cheap breakfast with a good coffee. The honesty bar is helpful after a long day and has very reasonable prices. Free tea and a fruit. The reception and ladies in the kitchen were very kind and helpful. The room was small, but with a lot of shelves to unpack.

I would add some curtains in the windows for privacy, the doors make the room dark and the lights are not the brightest. When you open the doors, people from the common room can see you. The only heating is via air conditioning, which is not the most comfortable sleep. The electronic locks on the door are not always working the first time, but that's a minor inconvenience.

Lovely breakfast with a large variety of options. We also enjoyed the treats for purchase(at a reasonable price) in the common breakfast area. The staff very kindly went out of their way to accommodate my husbands dietary needs.

I found the hours that a staff member available for questions and check in/ check out quite limited compared with what we had experienced elsewhere. It seemed more like an airbnb in that regard, however, I needed to talk with someone to pay for our room. Our room was quite small.

Care from the Staff was OUTSTANDING. They helped carry my bags to the second floor and had them in my room when I got home . The owner, Armondo, found a parking space for me. The location was safe and adorable. The breakfast was unbelievable - so clean and fresh and an amazing variety of healthy foods. They made me the best cappuccino. The place was so well designed and the shower was the best as well as all the linens were of high quality. There was a sweet feeling of pride the team had for the place in the way they cared for their guests. Their system of security was impeccable. Kindness goes a long way and they had it . Forgot one important thing, the staff was available to suggest and direct places to see around town as well as great restaurants in the area.

the steps but I got used to them.

The staff were amazing, I traveled with my 2 year old daughter with a lot of luggage and they changed my room to a ground floor room without me even asking, she just saw my situation and immediately made changes to make our stay easier. The breakfast was also excellent, a great range of food and drinks on offer and again the staff were so friendly and accommodating, organising fresh pancakes for my daughter after discreetly asking me if she might enjoy that option (avoiding a potential tantrum if I had said no) and just generally being thoughtful and aware of my potential needs having my daughter there. The bed was really comfortable and the room was beautifully clean (even had an air purifier machine running in the room when I arrived) and newly renovated (or at least it looked new!) I would definitely stay again very happily.

Nothing, it was cosy and excellent value.

Lots of likes, including: 1. Good and clean facility. 2. Plentiful breakfast offerings including warm bread. 3. Being close to a small store and to restaurants. 4. Good building security. 5. Free leftover cake from breakfast. 6. Easy to find from train station

Which should be labeled as opportunities for improvement instead of permanent issues: 1. Small ants in the room. 2. Steep staircase with a handrail that was too low and only on one side. 3. Difficulty in knowing how to enter the secured property when first arriving. 4. Starting time for breakfast, 09:00, is too late. I heard the reason why but it has to begin by 08:30.
