We loved our stay at the Hotel Sintra Jardim. The apartment was perfect for our family and the staff had everything set up nicely for our arrival. We stayed in the apartment, and there was a one-bedroom option or a two-bedroom option, we messaged the hotel for the one-bedroom, which gave us access to a private apartment with a living room that had a couch that pulled out for our children and a private bedroom for us parents. The apartment was detached from the main house but a very short walk across the lot, with a staircase to access the entry. The beds were clean and comfortable, and the apartment had so much space and natural light for our family. The location was perfect and we were close to everything that we needed. The staff was incredible and helped us find anything that we needed. They made us eggs one morning for the kids when requested. The breakfast was amazing, and our children loved eating breakfast every day and picking out their food. The hotel was clean and beautiful, and the gardens were fun to explore. There are rooms throughout the hotel to relax and play games, all beautifully decorated, and so lovely. The gardens had fruit trees, a resident turtle, and a swing that we enjoyed. We loved everything about the hotel. We will be back the next time we're in Sintra.

Location great, can park there and walk to castles. In walking distance also exist many restaurants. Breakfast is included and it is good with many healthy options such as eggs, muesli, yogurt, seeds and fruits. The breakfast room is cozy with real fireplace. There are free walnuts on the table near the fireplace, with a nutcracker next to it. It is my first time to use a real nutcracker, it was fun and the walnuts tasted rather good. On the way to the breakfast room there are two living rooms for reading or playing chess, very cozy set up. Garden is pretty. Room is spacious, the table is great for drinking tea and sorting stuff. Hot water comes fast and water flow is big. The three front desk ladies we have met are all very nice.

Bathroom heating has a timer which is very very short and hence does not do a good job of heating bathroom. It is rather cold. Y

A beautiful older hotel with nice rooms and beautiful gardens. It is right on the 434 bus line so very convenient. They let us leave our bags early so we could explore before check in time. The dining area was very handy- we enjoyed breakfast and a late night snack (they are open until 11 pm). It is a 10 minute walk into town and there is a lovely park you can go into for most of the walk so you are off the busy main road. The hosts were all very friendly and helpful.

The property is right on the main road so it is busy and there is construction happening (Oct 2024) so it is loud. It was quiet between 6 pm-7 am.

It is a classic old fashioned hotel and I LOVED it When having breakfast in the morning, there was a fire going. It was a warming experience and a great start to the day. My bedroom was perfect and of all the places I stayed during my trip, it was the warmest, most comfortable bedroom. The location was easy to find and when I parked, it was a short walk to the train station and the Hop On Hop Off buses.

that I couldn't stay longer. A holiday in Sintra involves a great deal of walking, walking up hills etc. I didn't get a chance to fully enjoy the pool and garden (although they looked terrific).

We loved everything about this property. Near enough to the old town to walk yet far enough away to be out of the hustle bustle. Gorgeous well maintained grounds and property. We appreciate the time it takes to keep up this huge garden! The rooms were old as is the building but well maintained and very clean. Cleaned each day with fresh towels. Mira at the front desk is a delight! She was most kind with our requests and to give us good advice on sites to see and restaurants. The hotel is quiet. Continental breakfast each morning was lovely in the garden room with plenty to choose from and fresh juices. We wish we could have stayed longer! Absolutely stunningly beautiful house in a great location. The pool is amazing and wouldn't be out of place in a 4 star property. We stayed in the apartment (not connected to the main house) and it was fabulous. Clean, spacious and perfect for a family of 4 or 2 couples. Breakfast was included and had great options. You can walk in to the old town in 10 mins or get a bus that stops right outside.

The staff were a bit sullenly and I never felt very welcomed particularly by the lady that was on the desk in the afternoon and evening. There was a washing machine in our apartment but the door to it was locked so I asked if I could have the key to wash some of the kids clothes and she said it was only for stays of 3 nights or longer, I explained I was staying for 3 nights so she said no its for 4 nights. I thought this was a bit petty considering it's in the apartment and advertised. I wasn't allowed to use it.

Nice sized room with TV off to the left but no English channels but we see enough TV back home! Good sized bathroom and powerful shower in the bath. Breakfast was good although not as much choice as we had hoped but sufficient for us. You can see the property was built for someone special as there are nice features and lots of space including a small pool (but too cold the day we were there)

The entrance to the hotel car park area was down a single lane alleyway with a sharp left turn through a gate not much bigger than our car. We made it in despite the screaming of the parking sensors trying to persuade us we wouldn't make it!

Very charming hotel in a historic building. Quiet setting with beautiful park-like grounds, including a swimming pool. ("Sintra Jardim" means "Sintra Garden.") Very helpful and friendly English-speaking staff. Spacious room with desk, large bathroom with tub. Large armoire with shelves, drawers and hangers for storing clothes. Two large windows provide good ventilation, which is especially important given that the room was not air-conditioned. Buffet breakfast included, served in room overlooking the garden. Easy to access by car (with help from Google Maps navigation). Just a 10-15 minute walk to the city center with a variety of shops and restaurants and several major tourist destinations (e.g., Palacio Nacional de Sintra). Private off-street gated parking area (though some spaces may be a tight squeeze for larger vehicles).

The flat-screen TV was the size of a computer monitor. (I don't watch much TV so this was not really an issue for me, although it could be an issue for those who like to watch TV while traveling). The breakfast was good but could be enhanced with hot items (e.g., fried or scrambled eggs, not just hard-boiled eggs). If the weather were warmer, the lack of air-conditioning could potentially be an issue.

Fabulous old house, wonderful gardens, pool would be great when warmer. Plenty of parking. Close to old town, easy 10 minute stroll. Front desk staff all lovely.

Although a wonderful old building, it needs money spent on it. Given the character and price we overlooked the shortcomings. The shower head in our room was REALLY bad, even for Portugal where this seems common. Just about everything was broken with the shower head, so bad, and couldn’t have been missed by the cleaner. Must be a known problem and ignored, water spurting everywhere. Breakfast was pretty poor. Internet a bit hit and miss, worked some of the time.

This was the best hotel on our two-week Spain/Portugal vacation. We felt like billionaires living in a gorgeous huge room in a beautiful estate with world-class gardens and a huge pool. We sent picture after picture to family members in the USA and they were amazed like us at its beauty and comfort. The staff was very friendly, the breakfast was amazing and endless, and there was ample on-site parking -- very rare in Sintra.
