beautiful setting and lovely grounds, parking available, very nice pool and lounging area and good spa, short walk into Bath. The bedroom was comfortable and stylish with water, tea and coffee provided

the only problem we encountered was the breakfast which was shambolic. we were asked if we would like toast and replied yes please but it never arrived even though we asked several times! my coffee was full of grounds as the cafetière was broken, again I had to ask several times for replacement coffee and a fresh cup. the cooked breakfast was ok but not great.we mentioned this to the receptionist on checking out but he was very monosyllabic and didn’t seem interested, no apology was forthcoming and we left on a low note!

Room was comfortable and spacious. Spa pool was very good and the grounds were beautiful. Breakfast in the room. Hotel is within walking distance of the city centre and you can park your car easily in the spacious car park. The staff were all very friendly & helpful.

Checking in/out system needs to be sharpened up as there were lots of very unhappy looking clients in a long queue waiting to check in and check out. We were very lucky and seem to have missed the queues fortunately. Warners use a much more slick system. Whole hotel needs closing for a spruce up eg painting, decorating, woodwork replacing etc as it is looking rather tired. Our bathroom badly needed painting, re grouting etc.Not a five star because of the need for decoration.

My Husband and myself had a very lovely time, the full English breakfast on the first morning we did not enjoy it. could of been hotter and and the toast was extremely cold . However the following morning I asked for Omelette which apparently do not do but was accommodating. My husband asked for scrambled eggs on toast I thought the portion was very very small on small bit of toast on the side and a handful of scammed egg portion a bit mean I thought. On the Saturday night we did have their 5 taster menu that was excellent and valve for money. Last the Staff all very very lovely and nothing was a bother , would highly recommend a stay.

Beautiful hotel. My suite was lovely.(119)Yes, some paint on the woodwork in the bathroom would freshen it up. However, the rest of the room was luxurious and spacious. The bed was comfortable with lovely bedding. The hotel is in a quiet and peaceful location, a 15-minute walk straight into the main high street. Breakfast was very good. Mixed fresh fruit would be a good idea to display. Then the breakfast would be 10/10 . Excellent staff throughout the hotel. The gym and pool were an added bonus .It was lovely to have the facilities after a day walking around Bath. The terrace is lovely to have a drink before you head out or simply to sit and read a book or newspaper. I would definitely want to stay at this hotel again .

Probably one of the nicest hotels in the UK I’ve stayed in. This is due to the mix of pros the hotel has to offer… It’s a stunning building situated on beautiful grounds in close proximity to Bath town, with plenty of areas to sit, dine, chat and relax. The room had a real charm to it, and was substantial in size. Staff were absolutely wonderful, which makes all the difference. We were lucky to stay during beautiful sunny weather so early in the year, and to be able to relax in a heated (and I mean VERY heated, like hot-tub-hot!) swimming pool outdoors with the sun shining down on u really was heavenly. The restaurant food was fantastic, too. If a little pricey, and I wonder if that’s why it wasn’t as busy in the evenings as you’d expect. Whereas in the day many people seemed to come to the hotel to have al fresco business meetings outside in the courtyard, enjoying coffees or afternoon tea.

I don’t have any complaints whatsoever, but will feedback that the 24hr room service didn’t seem to be available late in the evenings.

Beautiful surroundings and extremely helpful and friendly staff.

Poor management. We arrived to no concierge who apparently had decided to just not show up, which continued the duration of our stay. The young lady in reception while extremely competent and dealt with the whole situation calmly and professionally, even though having quite a few grumbling guests waiting for attention. What annoyed me was the fact that management had not seen this and put at least one other person on reception and at least later in the stay found someone to cover the concierge and valet duties. Every visit to the colonnade bar resulted in a ten to fifteen minute wait followed by a trip to reception to enquire about any service in the bar. Please do not misunderstand me, once there the staff were excellent. This is purely to bring very poor management to light.

Breakfast was good room was very comforable and we loved the spa The hotel was very clean and tidy, and the staff were helpful when needed. The staff that clean the rooms did an excellent job.

When we booked the hotel in the beginning on line, it said the bar menu is different to the main restaurant, so when we arrived to the hotel was good and in the evening we had a bar meal, which was very nice. As it was my birthday we booked a meal in the main restaurant as it was a special occasion, only to find the menu was the same as the bar menus.that was very disappointing, we asked the reception about it but they said they were short staffed and decided to keep the same menu but didn’t tell us this. That spoiled our special occasion.

The breakfast and all other meals were amazing Staff were incredible best service always with a genuine smile and always very well presented The food was delicious great range and fresh ... nothing was ever a problem they did anything you asked was early for breakfast still setting up so sat in another stunning room with Christmas trees made coffees and came and let us know when could come in... The whole building as big as it is was so well decorated for Christmas .... The Spa and pool were clean and really nice to be in there were 4 steam and sauna rooms all at different temperatures to suit everyone ice showers really refreshed .... whole experience was amazing

The hotel has beautiful grounds with a peaceful and well-kept garden. The building itself is impressive and full of character. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the rooms are styled in a charming old English way, which gives the place a unique atmosphere.

However, it’s clear that the hotel could use some renovation in certain areas—most notably the spa. Some parts feel quite tired, especially the hydrotherapy pools, where tiles are missing in several spots and there is a noticeable amount of black mold. A refresh in these areas would really elevate the entire experience.
