The staff greeted us on arrival and acknowledged us each time we walked through reception/lounge area. The hotel has quirky touches throughout. The bed room we had was a double /twin. The beds were super comfy and I had the best nights sleep I have had in an absolute age! Although we were on the front of the hotel neither me or my Daughter were disturbed by noise from outside. We had asked for non feather bedding in our booking and this was acknowledged and provided (thank you). Great shower and bath with some lovely on site toiletries (you can buy in reception if you wish to take away). Lovely touch was complimentary drinks in the room. Handy for the car park (and we noticed later also the train /bus station). Easy walk in to the main shopping areas but also the Abbey, parks , river, Roman baths and tour buses all near by.

So happy with my choice to stay here! Quirky to be sure, but the rooms and baths are all in nice shape, the restaurant, The Elder, is quite good and you are in good walking distance to everything in Bath.

I wouldn’t say I disliked this, but the parking is a little complicated. I had to ask a traffic cop if it was ok to park illegally in front of the hotel so I could drop my things off before driving 8 minutes away to park at SouthGate. Understand that parking in Bath is generally in a garage unless you want to pay 40 quid a day for Valet, but it would have been helpful to know ahead of time. I spent 25 minutes trying to figure out how to get checked in and then another 25 parking and walking back to the hotel after I did.

The hotel's location was perfect, nestled centrally, but cleverly situated away from the main square to ensure a tranquil stay. Its features were nothing short of spectacular, precisely what one would expect in a charming English town. The culinary delights at The Elder were a treat, complemented by a delightful little bar that served a wide selection of drinks and nibbles, perfect for unwinding after a long day of travel. Moreover, the unique decor was truly special, making it a must-see experience in itself. Yes, this property is a bit more expensive, but worth the price.

The only downsides were no washcloths in the bathroom and a preference for a king bed instead of a queen. However, with all the other wonderful features, there's not much to complain about.

The breakfast food was very good . Reception staff are very good. The hotel staff did find rooms together plus helped with other requests. Hotel is in a very good location. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms are well equipped.

Disappointed that on 3 consecutive mornings the hotel didn’t have soya milk despite asking for it. Disappointed with breakfast staff who one ocassion forgot order for coffees & teas and frequently didn’t get the order right for the cooked breakfast. We had superior twin on the top floor, these were ok, but the ceiling is low on the top floor and, as a consequence, it feels a little cramped. Overall, I’m a little disappointed with the money we paid for the rooms.

Everything about the hotel was fabulous. Staff were efficient and attentive from the moment you walked through the door . The room was beautifully decorated with comfortable beds and a wonderful bathroom with a roll top Bath and big walk-in shower. Lots of attention to detail to make your stay the best it can be. Bar staff were knowledgeable and had a great drinks menu including cocktails. The breakfast was just one of the best I’ve had in a hotel. Absolutely delicious with an extremely good choice. I would recommend to friends and will definitely be returning in the future

There was nothing not to like. It was perfect

The location is super, right in the heart of Bath. We parked in a public carpark, directly in front of the hotel, which was 17.10 for 24 hours parking. The décor of the hotel is very luxurious. The service was super. It is a lovely hotel, and so central.

The rooms were slight too small for us. I had to walk sideways to get to my side of the bed, so it was slightly too closed in for me and the rooms are more darker than lighter due to the colour scheme. The room we had with a bath, was a very small bath - so you had to be petite if you want to relax with comfort. The accessible bathroom was excellent in the other room. It is the sign of the times, but I would much prefer Breakfast included in the price. £20 for each person is great for the full works, but when one person is only having a their Bacon Breakfast Butty and a coffee, it is rather too much and for a family of 4 puts £80 on the bill.

We had to change rooms as the lovely bath tubs were not conducive with 83 years old guests. Getting a "leg over" at three feet is an art you lose around 70 years of age! Luckily you have a splendid lady in Reception called Tracey, who changed us to a room with a "walk-in" shower and our holiday was saved. This same lady organised my mobility scooter to be parked on the ground floor and charged up each day.

Oddly enough the height of the beds. These are extremely difficult to get into in advanced years. However, once you get in they are great.

This was the first time my husband and I stayed in one of your hotels. The decor is fascinating to say the least. Every room and hallway had intriguing artwork, whimsy everywhere!! The staff was super friendly and even brought us up to our room. They were super helpful and turned on the air conditioning for us, winning. The breakfast was absolutely Brilliant, fit for a King and Queen. The hearty breakfast kept us going until late in the day. The hotel is located only a few blocks from the heart of the Abbey, so you can hit the ground ready for my favorite place in the world-beautiful Bath.

There was a bit of an ant problem in the bathroom which they said they would address.

The staff were nice, friendly and helpful. the rooms are pretty and the breakfast was delicious. The staff in the breakfast room was attentive and accommodating.

A minor thing, but the reason I did not give it a 10. As someone not from the U.K. it took us awhile to sort out the control for the heating system and electricity/light switches. The switches had both an on off switch for the light as well as on off switch for the electric. Neither of the two different staff people seem to know about them either. We did figure it out by trial and error after a couple of days. All in all it was a great stay and we would book there again.

First thing, you cannot beat the location, it is in the heart of Bath and in close walking distance from the Roman Baths and lovely restaurants. Even the car parking, which is a nightmare in Bath, works out well with the car park literally next door. The hotel itself is very stylish and wish we could have spent more time in the common areas, with our room in the main building (thanks to Ian & James) living up to the quirky Boutique experience that we had wanted. Also, the staff are super helpful and friendly, which included a follow up call form their communication person to see that everything was to our satisfaction. Also, it is a nice touch that the mini bar wine and beer was gratis.

Only slight disappointment was the meal that we had on the last night in The Elder restaurant. We thought we would splash out and go for the Taster menu with wine pairing. The food was good, the wine was good the interior lovely, so why the disappointment? It was because when you pay out over £330 for a meal for two including £120 worth of wine, you expect some interesting explanation of why you are drinking a particular wine with each course. Instead, we got little or no details of the wine flight, culminating in the last wines description, "this the next wine to go with the next course", which was an anti-climax to an otherwise great stay.
