we were happy in all with the stay and accomondations. Apparently the suit one part of the familiy stayed in was very nice. One of the smaller bedrooms only had a velux window The swimming pool was very nice despite missing out on the jaccuzi which was out of order.

Slow service in the bar on Saturday night. We had booked a table in the restaurant >10 days before and knew where we would be sitting but this was given to another group. Before we were sorted out and we sat down to eat quite late. However, Abdul was FANTASTIC and funny and gave us such a nice time that it was all forgotten in the end. Dinner and breakfast was very good

We came for a function which was done beautifully. In particular the staff were pleasant and attentive at all times. They went the extra mile to make sure everything was perfect. The breakfast was good; lots of choice and lovely staff again. We did not use the spa facilities.

The hotel is difficult to navigate. We thought our room was on the first floor but it was along corridors and up stairs that made it difficult to find. Fortunately a member of staff guided us there and ensured we knew our way back to the function suite. Better signage and an easier follow 'map' would have helped.

Everything was really fine (staff, reception rooms, location) except the fact that we were given a room which had been painted the week before and the residual odour really triggered my asthma. It was too late when we returned to the room in the evening for me to request a room change so perhaps my own fault. Unfortunately it led to a really uncomfortable night. To be fair Reception told me that they would have changed my room had they known.

Strong freshly painted residual smell. Layout of room a little awkward but very clean. Reception staff very pleasant.

We have already been to the hotel two years ago and it is very beautiful, the hall, the library, the cloister restaurant, the paintings. The staff is extremely nice and attentive. Very good breakfast, cozy fire in the hall.

Unfortunately we did not have a very nice room for the price we paid and compared to the last time we were there. It was in the annexe, there were cracks in the wall, a stain on the carpet, some broken pieces in the bathroom and we had a view to the car park. We will ask for a better room next time!

Lively Christmas atmosphere, beautiful historic building. nice and proactive staff.

In the first room we were given, the window was letting wind and rainwater in. The staff were quick to move us to another room. However, the new room was uncomfortably hot during the night, even though we turned the radiator off. There seemed to very some warm pipes under the floor(?). We couldn’t leave the window open to cool the room down because it was a sash window that rattled noisily in the wind. So overall we didn’t sleep well. Windows in the restaurant were historic and beautiful but draughty. We thought it was priced a bit too high, especially given these issues.

Lovely room, friendly and helpful staff Great service for the kids. Great hot breakfast. Continental selection was limited.

Unfortunately no covered walkway to the pool / Spa facilities and quite cold water in the swimming pool. Coffee machine in the suite didn't work. Dinner took longer than expected (kitchen too busy - as per waiter's comments). Fortunately though the kids were served faster and could eat before we got there in the end.

Interesting property with the most beautiful view to sit and eat breakfast with! Helpful, efficient and friendly staff. Gorgeous breakfast. Very dog friendly. Warm and comfortable rooms and general areas. Excellent spa.

Minor issue … bit of a trek to the spa, which is unavoidable because of the build. And, the interior is crying out for some large colorful contemporary art works.

The spa was lovely and clean. Room was just the perfect size and was super nice for a weekend get away with partner. Had dinner at the hotel and was super good!! Super romantic and the view over the hills was so beautiful. Would definitely go back again and will 100% recommend to anyone thinking about staying!! Staff were super lovely and got a small tour of the place. Felt at ease and super easy to get to.

Staff are friendly and knowledgable, especially about the grounds and are very attentive to needs.

At breakfast, I asked for extra toast with my full-English, instead I received none. Book any spa treatments you want in advance, we only had one option left on the day - probably our fault for not thinking ahead.

Views were amazing. Very quiet grounds, rustic and building was beautiful

The floor need repair. We stayed on the third floor. It felt like some of the board were loose and need screwing back down. This was evident at night when going to the bathroom and the floor was squeaking very badly
