The location was very quiet and tucked away from the touristy old town, so you could go out for a walk in the mornings and leisurely stroll to the old town about 2km of walking from the hotel itself. Also very conveniently close to the airport when it was time to fly home.

The bathroom had a raised bit right at the door that I stubbed my toe on quite hard because I didn't see it, so some warning for future guests about that bit specifically would have been nice. Also the smartTV was finicky some nights about connecting to the internet, which was a bit annoying. Minor annoyances overall compared to how otherwise lovely the stay was.

Most hotels are similar. What you remember and distinguish them by is, most often, the people. And in this hotel, I met wonderful people, who helped me feel comfortable and welcome in Salzburg. Thanks, girls. :) The hotel itself is well-positioned and has excellent connections to the center (there is a tram stop right in front of the hotel). Parking is provided for hotel guests (their cars). The room was spacious, the bathroom was large, and the terrace was a hit. I enjoyed drinking coffee on the restaurant terrace in the morning (of course, when the weather allowed it). I really enjoyed my stay here and I highly recommend this accommodation. See you again!

Quite near to city center, which can be reached using public transportation in a few minutes. Free parking in the surroundings but only for 3 hours during daytime (free overnight). Accomodation was quite spacious, with 2 rooms. Not really a suite, since first room was more like a "studio" arranged with a single bed and a sofa bed, and the other one with a double bed. Rich breakfast, with many choices. Staff also provided gluten-free bread on request.

No sealed portions of jams, nut cream and similar at breakfast. Every single item at buffet was contaminated with bread crumbles and gluten, leaving a really poor use of the gluten-free bread..

We stayed here twice. First time we were upgraded to a suit, for that I would like to thank the management very much :) the suit was great, large room with a comfy bed, a stand-alone bath, large shower and a minibar. 2nd time we were staying in a family room, that one was rather small and stuffy due to 2 small windows (not full size) and the wifi was not working on the upper floor. Also a kettle + cups would be great to have in a family room. Breakfast was great both times. Staff was friendly, location close to the city center and you can also get a free transportation ticket from the reception.

From where to start!This hotel and the stuff made our first trip to Austria absolutely amazing!Everyone was more than polite and extremely helpful towards us from the very first moment!First of all the hotel is in THE PERFECT LOCATION.Just a few minutes near the centre by feet and even if u don't want to walk you can take the bus which passes every five to ten minutes right across the hotel.It is also 10' far from the airport which is very helpful !The room was very comfortable and the cleaning stuff took care of it every morning.We had the Bed and Breakfast package for the week and I just need to say that it was the best option.Big breakfast for all the needs and flavors.Fresh bread,Salzburger delights and a lot of other options.We stayed full for the whole day with this breakfast and not to mention the amazing lady who took care of the buffet Mrs.Samira.We are definitely coming back to see her and we are sending her lots of love.The manager of the hotel Mr.Bernhard was so welcoming, he gave us the map of the city and gave us directions to every single thing that we could do in Salzburg and also some gifts to take back Home at the end of our holidays.Mrs.Marija also was so sweet and helpful with the questions we had.I can really write so many things about how good our experience in Hotel Astoria was.We really look forward to see you again next year. Lovely rooms with plenty of space, and easy parking in the hotel underground garage. Friendly staff and a super breakfast. Free public transport pass for the duration of our stay from reception and a tram stop across the road was super handy , just 10-15 mins on the tram into the town centre, and runs every 10 mins or so. Limited parking but can be reserved ahead of time with the hotel - we had no problems. Walking distance to the Stiegl brewery too (worth booking!)

No aircon in the rooms, but this was clear from the booking info.

We had four adults in a suite, with two sleeping areas. There was a small fridge in the suite; fans were there for both sleeping areas and it stayed cool. Everything was very clean, and the staff was wonderful! Breakfast was in a pleasant area and provided lots of choice. Public transportation was so close, frequent, and reliable to and from this hotel - we planned to walk, but always caught a bus (the modest fare for which was included in the tax, I believe). It was so easy to get to both the old town and the airport.

For the money we paid, I was expecting a bit more. The staff was not helpful but was very nice. They indeed tried to help, but usually we heard "I don't know" or "I want to help, but I cannot now".

The room was not the best I have seen. Comparing to two other B&Bs and hotels we rented in Germany and Austria, this one had the highest cost and the lowest comfort level. Nevertheless, it was not the worst I have seen. Areas for improvement 1. Better trained staff 2. Better furnished rooms

We were disappointed initially to find that the previous owners had retired as we have stayed at Astoria for many years. However the staff were excellent in particular Eduardo on reception was very helpful, informative and welcoming a credit to the Astoria. The breakfast staff were Aldi excellent very cheerful, welcome and accommodating. Breakfast was just as good if not better than before. We enjoyed our stay snc round certainly stay again.

We felt that the cleanliness of the room was not as good as we had experienced previously. Little things were overlooked such as replacing toilet rolls and hand wash. We appreciate that it is a very popular hotel with a lot of rooms to service but this was our experience on this occasion.

The breakfast was perfect. Great selection of warm options as well as breads and cakes. The coffee/ cocoa machine was very good! Fresh juices were available as well. The beds were comfortable and clean. The whole room was overall clean and equipped with everything you need. The shower was equipped with plenty of hot water. Large smart TVs were a nice add. The free WiFi worked great. The staff are very friendly and understanding. My dog was welcomed with treats! My family enjoyed the location and walking the dog was no problem with a small park a block away. Nice selection of restaurants and shops in the area as well. Reserved parking was very convenient and secure (at an extra cost, but not necessary since the area has available parking). I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking to visit Salzburg.

The painted walls in the room could be repainted or updated somehow (Wall paper or tile that wipes clean behind the toilets). USB sockets to charge phones and tablets might be a nice modern finish as well.
