What a find. Perfect stop off from the motorway. Spacious spotlessly clean room. On site parking is always a bonus. Breakfast was included in the price and to be honest we thought it would be continental only but we were very pleasantly surprised. The breakfast room was very well presented with modern tables and chairs and we had a choice of continental and full cooked breakfast of choice. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay with them and would definitely return. Best value for money we've ever had on our travels and staff were very welcoming and friendly. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Plenty of parking. Staff were lovely, special thanks to Ali to whom nothing was too much trouble đ Good-sized room, away from main road so there was distant traffic noise - but we sleep with window open, when closed traffic could not be heard so definitely not a grumble. Breakfasts are yummy, well-cooked and decent amount (cereals also available). Handily-placed with parks a short walk away, and a steady, level few minutes stroll to the nearest bars selling real ale so a huge bonus as far as we're concerned!
The shower room was a decent size however, the toilet was rather squeezed in - not a problem to us but some people may find it an issue (obviously will probably be different in other rooms!).

Everything was excellent. A last minute booking handled smoothly, comfy clean room, quiet despite being on a busy road, plenty of parking, absolutely excellent cooked breakfast and waiting staff. Hard to fault.
Nearly didn't book when I noticed ÂŁ50 returnable deposit, and on arrival a ' no i.d.. no stay' sign at reception. Off-putting and made you worry about the place. In the event neither were applied. Booking site said it included breakfast...but not what kind. I was expecting it to be only continental given the price but it was one of the best cooked breakfasts I've had in years, and the toast was toast, not warmed bread like most places today. I'll be back.

The staff were lovely, the room was very spacious and clean and really comfortable. The breakfast was brilliant and also the staff went above and beyond on the first morning as we had to leave before breakfast they make bacon and sausage sandwiches for us to take away and brought them to our room. Absolutely fantastic service. There was also a very good selection at breakfast, full English, fresh fruit juices and cereals different jams tea and coffee. One of the best we have stayed at when we have been visiting the area.
The only negative would be that the ensuite had a sewage smell so it was the first thing we could smell in our bed at night and in the morning

On check in I was immediately upgraded to the new wing as the bad weather meant the hotel was quieter than usual. The room was excellent- large, spotless, warm and with plenty of tea and coffee. Bed very comfortable too. Breakfast, good quality full English. Staff pleasant and helpful. I had arrived in the dark and forgotten to turn off my headlights which resulted in my battery being flat in the morning and with a hundred mile drive home ahead. The owner very kindly gave me a jump start and I was soon on my way. I have stayed at the Claremont previously and would definitely return again, Highly recommended.
Nothing - excellent service all round!

Check in was quick, pleasant clean room. Everything we needed for our stay, even toiletries, which was a nice touch. Breakfast was good, great service & friendly staff. We would stay again.
Only minor things, could have done with blackout curtains given that it is summer. There was also a bright light near the door, not sure what it controlled, but it was a very bright light, even when all in darkness. Iâm afraid I do like total darkness, so personal opinion. Also could have benefited from a fan, but as I said, minor suggestions!

The property was very well signposted, good car parking facilities and check in from 2pm is nice. Greeted by a lovely lady, who checked us in and gave us our keys. Our room was on the first floor with 1 flight of stairs, couldnât see a lift but we didnât need it anyway. Room was nicely decorated with en suite bathroom, lovely shower. The bed was very comfortable and we both had a very good sleep and was a big enough bed ( we arenât tiny people!) The room had a decent size tv on the wall facing the bed, a double wardrobe, desk with room to get ready and tea and coffee facilities. I did really like that it had a floor length mirror! Breakfast on a weekday is from 7am to 9am and has a varied selection of cereals and juices however, the full English is very small, looked like it had been under the lights in the kitchen for a while and didnât leave slot to the imagination.
Unfortunately we did not really like the ÂŁ50 deposit, we have never experienced this before and we where a little dubious, it came to us checking out and the deposit was charged back to my husbands card that it was paid from, however, we were informed it would take 24 hours and 48 hours later it still had t been refunded, it took a call and another wait of nearly 24 hours for the ÂŁ50 to be refunded back into the card.

A lovely welcome when we arrived. Very clear instructions as to how to find the room. It turned out we had been upgraded to a triple room - so I got a double bed rather than a single and had a great night's sleep. The room had everything needed for a stay - toiletries provided and tea/coffee making facilities. Plenty of choices at breakfast. The staff were all lovely, friendly and helpful. Check out was up to 11am which is very generous. Also there is plenty of on site parking.

I have visited the Claremont on many occasions and every time my stay has been second to none. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the facilities are everything you need and the breakfast is lovely, well cooked, cooked to order and more than great value for the price of the stay. The Claremont is well situated for easy transport routes and there are local shops nearby. What makes The Claremont special though, are the amazing people who work there. They give an extremely warm welcome to everyone who walks through the door, nothing is too much trouble and they make everyone feel like family.
