Free parking in a big car park. The room was spacious, clean and quiet. Very comfortable bed, (although it could be too soft for some people). All the staff were friendly and helpful. Our basin was slow draining and this was rectified the same day we reported it. On site Hungry Horse restaurant and Harvester just down the road. 20-25 min walk to bus stop into the city. Easy drive to Southsea.

The main thing was the shower over the bath. No bathmat was supplied so potentially slippery and no grab handles. It was difficult to control the shower temperature and force. I felt unsafe and would not want to use it more than once. Only 3 hangers in the room. Lounge bar was closed for most of the time we were there. Hotel generally in need of a spruce up and outside the main entrance made more welcoming. There were cigarette ends in flower tubs and a sorry looking pond feature. More lighting for car park needed.

Very accommodating, lovely reception staff very friendly & polite! Situated perfectly in Portsmouth plenty of amenities around and right next door to a hungry horse. Only £10 for two orange juices and two lots of fried eggs on toast absolute bargain! Their meals and food there were exceptional would 100% recommend trying the chicken goujons 3 for £13 they are the best goujons I’ve had! Bed was SUPER comfy have even emailed reception to ask where they got it from as since I’ve come home I haven’t slept properly 😆 no charge for ironing board and iron surprisingly too! We come from Portsmouth and moved away a couple months ago. Will 100% stay here each visit!

Absolutely nothing apart from you could hear doors shutting early in the morning from other guests but that’s it

ALL the staff were exceptionally cheerful and helpful all through my stay. My sister had a party booked there and again, the hotel staff and security staff couldn't do enough to help. Food was delicious and plentiful in the restaurant and at the party. The room itself was ok, but there were stains on the carpet, and the shower head definitely needed a good clean. The controls for the shower were difficult to turn and when I managed it, the water came out cold with such force it made me jump. I think it needs a good overhaul to be honest. The bed was clean and very comfortable! I would stay again if I was visiting the area, but as I said things need to be sorted.

The check in was really welcoming,smiling faces and helpful information about the property. The room was big,everything I needed,the bathroom was big,clean and plenty of towels. The cleaning ladies were polite,helpful and always asked if I needed anything else. The breakfast was super,very efficient and cooked to order. Every time I walked through reception to the car park there was a warm,friendly hello. The staff really are excellent

There wasn’t much not to like. My only frustration was the WiFi. I had to go through the process of signing in every time- even if it were minutes later. But it was a minor frustration and not something that meant a lower mark. I would have no hesitation in staying here again and recommending it to anyone. Terrific value for money

Paid to book a larger room and this was well worth it. My positive revue is based on this upgrade with the spaciousness of the room, the large bed, the comfortable seating area, the large bathroom, etc. Very friendly staff, especially the night porter who warmly welcomed us. Good breakfast and excellent restaurant service. Easy parking and easy to find the hotel.

The hotel is well laid out but very "tired". Really does need an intensive make-over to remove the wear and tear which gives it a shabby feel. It does not compare well to the sleeker chains. (However, we will continue to use it as it is clean, with good staff and very convenient location.)

Check in was simple, room was in a quiet part of the hotel, as requested. We did not take breakfast due to early departures, but in the past it has been very good. Car park is big, but you need to be there before 10pm (see below). Staff were very polite & efficient, unlike quite a few other hotel chains. Overall, it was a nice stay & would come again.

On the night we wanted a drink before going to bed, we went to the attached bar ....... unfortunately, there was a VERY loud & untuneful Karaoki going on ..... totally impossible to relax & we left straight away. It would be much better to have a separate bar area for people who just want to relax quietly. The overflow car park area we had to use on Saturday night was completely overgrown at the edges & obviously full of wildlife that left very large piles of poo all over our cars ; It was a busy weekend, but it was not the best way to start Sunday morning.

Easy parking. Quiet, despite there being a function on there was no noise to be heard in the room. Staff were efficient and friendly. Well placed for access to both Portsmouth and Southsea. Food in the adjoining Hungry Horse was very good.

It was a little ‘tired’ Could do with sprucing up. Although non slip bath mats were available from reception if needed, the sign stating this is tiny so wasn’t aware for the first shower. Could do with a grab rail on the wall for getting in and out of the bath as, even for able bodied guests, there is nothing to hold on to.

The location was perfect for the purpose of our visit ( to attend a wedding) it was cosy, conveniently located and the standard of rooms/facilities more than adequate for our needs. The staff were all courteous, friendly, helpful and professional.

The hotel lacked up to date facillites (in room) for a disabled guest in our party (i.e, lack of wet room/ walk in shower) but this should have been pointed out on your site when I requested this for that guest so I cannot fault the hotel. However I do expect that with current legal standards regarding accessibility most hotels of this calibre and size should have been updated to make provision for this. It should be a basic expectation.

The check in was so friendly and welcoming. The room was spacious as was the bathroom. There wasn't a view as such but it was okay.Lots of towels in the bathroom,the bed was comfortable. The housekeeping staff always asked me if there was anything else I required. The breakfast was very good. Lots of choice of cereals,fuit,pastries and the main part was cooked to order and was very good and quick too. The location,just outside the city was ideal for me as I could get on the motorway very quickly.The reception staff were always smiling and friendly. I enjoyed my stay and would stay again.

we Arrived on the late side but did explain when booking . the everything was all ready for us when we arrived and the reception was very freindly and helpful . The room was very comfy and tidy the bed was also very comfey . There was tea /coffee milk and sugar and a small kettle to make a drink . We did have a cooked breakfast which hit the spot for me . On the whole shceme of things It was a good stay and I would stay again which could be quite soon .
