Everything was lovely.
My only issue was the staff chatting on the stairs by my room (room 6). I tried to have a late morning nap and I could hear the staff talking outside even with my earplugs.

Friendly responsive staff Booked early check in because going to wedding but room wasn't prepared in time. However, able to leave luggage in room and check in - and refunded cost of early check in.
Internet access was lousy. However hotspot via my mobile was equally poor so I suspect it is general coverage in the area.

Fairly near to family who we were visiting. Near to a barbers we made use of and a large supermarket handy for anything I forgot to bring with me. It was lovely to stay in an English pub with Hawkstone beer to try though we preferred the special bitter. Lively menu which we felt would cover all tastes. Night one we had been out at lunchtime so just had the fish platter to share , second night we both had the steak perfectly cooked to our liking. Didn’t have dessert though they looked good when served to an adjacent table !
Our room seemed to be a very long way from the front door , do while my husband found it hard walking that distance and up and down steps it meant we had a peaceful undisturbed nights sleep. It was difficult to shut the spring close doors quietly and not disturb near rooms.

rooms were clean and fresh,
woken up around 6am to hear clanging down stairs, wether they were getting ready for breakfast? but this woke us up to the noise going on downstairs! Especially as we weren't booked in to have breakfast until 8.15! I asked for rooms together, my sister was put in no1 lower floor and we were given no12 up the stairs and towards the end of the corridor! Breakfast not worth the extra we paid for it, my black pudding had been cooked for a while rather hard to eat, mushrooms had been sitting in a pan waiting! Not the freshly cooked breakfast i was looking forward too! and my partner and sister had eggs benedict which was swimming in hollandaise sauce! sorry but this was a waste of paying £17 extra each person!

We’d booked through booking.com so breakfast wasn’t included but that wasn’t an issue as we were meeting others for brunch.
There was only one small toilet roll in the bathroom and no spare one so we ran out of toilet paper. A second toilet roll on the back of the loo would have been helpful. We could only find one large towel for the shower in the bathroom so went to reception to ask for a second towel and was told it would be in the wardrobe (which it was). Just thought there might be two out in the bathroom as there were two of us staying and would never have thought to look in the wardrobe for a towel, had I not known it would be kept in there!

No hassle self check-in online and on arrival. Free parking and immediate to the side of the hotel so you can walk from your car and into the hotel within seconds. Lovely looking hotel and during our visit the sun was out and the beer garden full of people chatting and enjoying the weather.
If you are a new guest, when you park up in the carpark, the entrance to the hotel at that point is actually only accessible if you have a entry card, new guests need to go to the front which is sign posted so not a big deal

I liked the character of the place the pub was really nice and plenty of parking Staff were friendly and chatty, which is nice And I liked how u could check in yourself Breakfast was nice. And hot need proper orange juice, and I think u could do with 2 rashers of bacon and 2 sausages, but in all, I would go again and highly recommend
The bed frame the bed was lovely and comftable, but the bit at the end of the bed stuck out, so I knocked my knee a few times bloody hurt But it all matched and looked great

Room was very well appointed and had loads of English charm while maintaining modern conveniences. Very comfortable stay and windows allowed for fresh air and natural light. We pre-paid for the breakfast and it was well worth it. Extensive continental buffet, plus choice of freshly prepared hot entree from menu. There was ample parking onsite and off of the busy street. Was a perfect location while in transit between larger cities.
The restaurant closed rather earlier than we expected, and it was even very difficult to find a sit-down dinner in the vicinity after 8 pm. Just the area as a whole, rather than a fault of the hotel, but be prepared to have dinner early when visiting the region. The breakfast room and food were excellent. It was a bit odd that it was completely silent. The room was full of guests, but we all whispered, so as to not have our conversaton overheard. I appreciated the lack of TVs, but having some classical music piped in would add to the historial experience and make it less awkward.

Room booked as small double and was certainly compact but still had all expected facilities and was a good price too. Evening meal average but adequate. Breakfast, however, was really good, maybe the best Full English I have ever had previously in similar overnight accommodation! If we return to Gloucester we will stay here again.
Because the room was compact both my wife and I constantly stubbed toes and banged shins on the protruding bed legs that restricted the access to the en-suite bathroom. Suggestion: both bed frame and legs are wooden and a handyman could easily reposition the legs, (at the foot of the bed), onto the inside of the frame out of harms way and increase the access around the room.

Communication was very good and they acted on requirements we had specified. Assigned a ground floor room as one person disabled. Dietary requirements advised and they emailed confirmation that they could cater for that. The room was recently decorated and another room near ours was being worked on so it's well maintained. On arrival we were courteously met and the young lady went through the various options for food etc and then showed us directly to the room. Decided to have an evening meal at the hotel, and whilst a little expensive it was an excellent meal. Breakfast was also very nice and freshly cooked. For both meal and breakfast the staff were very polite and helpful.
The water pressure in the shower was just ok. No other issues.
