Walking into the State was like entering a movie. I was beyond impressed with my stay the Monlevliet. Everything was perfect, from the awe inspiring Mountain views to the mind bogging manor. The staff tends to your every need before you even ask. This place was so amazing that I booked an extra night and decided to just spend my days relaxing in the property. I think it was one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen and I can’t wait to be back.

The fireplace wasn’t working properly and would shut quickly after a long of work to turn it on. This gave me a VERY cold first night until the next day when I realized there was a heater in the room.

The rooms were big and great bathrooms. Excellent location - about 20 min walk from the waterfront and just down the road from a series of great restaurants. The staff were all very friendly and there is a comprehensive breakfast choice.

Breakfast service could be a little slow when everyone was down at the same time as it is cooked to order - would need to bear that in mind if in a hurry. But if on holiday it starts the day of in a relaxed way.

Harper’s House is beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. Breakfast is exceptional and the staff cannot do enough for you. There are lovely cafes and a supermarket / liquor store nearby and it’s easy to get places using e-hails. It was a sanctuary in a bustling city and we would highly recommend staying here - we hope to be back!

It is very hard to criticise Harper’s House but if I had to say one thing it would be that the pool is small but it definitely does the job!

The hotel is a cosy little place just as described. Our room was big, with a very comfy bed. It had everything we needed. The bathroom was also nice, with a big shower. Everything was clean. We liked the breakfast area and the breakfast food was tasty. We unfortunately didn't get to sit outside much or use the pool as it was too cold. The hotel also has a safe driveway for some cars.

The hotel is by a main road which is a bit of shame and there is not too much around but there are a couple of restaurants and shops within walking distance. This didn't bother us too much because it is only about 5-10 to the centre of the city and about 20min to Camps Bay by Uber. The only downside to our ground-floor room was that it was quite dark. The window didn't let in a ton of light and they could maybe at some more lighting in the bedroom.

Beautiful hotel! We had a lovely spacious room downstairs. Gorgeous bathroom, big comfortable king size bed, perfect to rest after a long flight to Cape Town. The breakfast on the terrace was delicious, and was lovely to relax by the pool and read a book. The staff were all super friendly and accommodating. Would definitely stay again when next in Cape Town.

Beautiful house, very tastefully decorated, cozy and spacious rooms. Nice quality toiletries, the room is equipped with all 5* essentials. Nice breakfast with good variety of dishes, cozy terrace for dining outdoor. Friendly and helpful staff.

There was no socket next to the mirror for a hair dryer, and there is no extension available. If you need to style your hair, it is a challenge. The guest house is right next to the liquor store, there might be a bit of a dodgy crowd around.

Agree with all the reviews that describe the warm welcome and friendly staff, the attention to details in the room, and the delicious breakfasts. The location is perfect for Uber pick ups and drop offs.

The view over the garden wall - but you can’t do anything about that from a city location. Definitely doesn’t detract from the stay.

The breakfast was amazing. It's more of a bed-and-breakfast type of place, not really a hotel. So, breakfast is custom and cooked to order. There is a menu, but they made what we wanted. 10/10. No complaints at all.

The folks that book excursions are not in the hotel, so communications are a bit difficult. There is a disconnect w between locals on the ground and whomever is handling the excursion. The local staff are very helpful, but whoever we message on booking.com about the excursions are too far removed to be helpful at times.

The breakfast is prepared at demand. The quality of the products served is very good, and the staff waas very friendly and professional. The layout of the rooms and the common places are designed like a british style and are very warm.

The windows of the room were quite exposed to the people of outside the hotel.

This hotel is a really hidden gem in Capetown. We enjoyed our stay a lot, especially because we were welcomed by the staff very friendly right upon check-in. The breakfast (a-la-carte) was delicious, offering various options and fresh products. We really liked the interior and its small boutique style with spacious rooms and comfy beds. Due to its very centric location, you can reach all places around the town easily by walking or taking an uber. We’d choose definitely this hotel define

The heating was not working properly in the room. By night it was a bit cold.
