The place has a wonderful and serene vibe to it - full of pretty little brics and bracs. It is located in a safe, secure and upscale neighbourhood so good for solo women travelers as well. The location is very close to all the main tourist areas so that is an added bonus. The place is very clean and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast though basic is but fulfilling and one has access to the kitchen at all times and so one can but food items and keep them in the refrigerator to be cooked later. A special mention of the lovely staff at the hotel - Atti, Ntombi and the cleaning ladies! Most helpful at all times with queries and general conversations! This is a quiet hostel (which was a blessing!) and not meant for party animals!

Nice big houses attached, turned into hostel. Very comfy beds, with warm blanket, as I was there in September. Location is good too, safe.

Its not really like hostel which maybe be positive if you are looking for a calm place or not if you want more interaction. Breakfast is limited .

One of the best hostels I have ever stayed in. The staff was dedicated, kind, and super ready to help you in any way you might need, going way above and beyond what they are required to do. Facilities are great, as are the common areas. Really nice communal breakfast. There is a business area where you can go for work calls/quiet time. Loved this place, and especially the people.

My only complaint would be the locks/codes for the doors, which frequently stuck and were a bit hard to remember. They could use an update to something easier and more practical, perhaps

I loved that the staff were all super warm and so generous with their time and assistance. The vibes of the place was energetic and the interior design was so simple yet creative and clean. Also there were guests from all over the world and the morning breakfast setup helps you build relationships. I really loved every minutes of it, it was so unique and I can’t keep pinning on the staff and how lovely and helpful and clean the place is.

As some describe it, you cannot call this a hostel but rather a hotel with community living. Magnificent decoration, modern and welcoming, with great taste. We appreciated this spirit of sharing common areas, the possibility of being able to use the kitchen, being able to help ourselves to fresh drinks in the fridge, the breakfast area in the morning and the useful advice from very friendly staff available. The room was spacious and comfortable, with the necessary privacy. The accommodation is located within walking distance of the WaterFront, which helps in getting around easily.

We didn't understand that the bathroom would be separate from the bedroom, not a big problem but perhaps slippers and a bathrobe could be provided for crossing the common areas between the two.

A healthy breakfast was provided. As a late sleeper, I wish breakfast hours could be extended to 11 AM. They held different events on different days and evenings. Could consider staying longer for those perks. Our room was big with a private bath. Although we didn't use the pool, it was an added feature and provided an outdoor area for reading or whatever. Very quiet location. Fenced parking. Felt safe.

My daughter was on a walker and we hoped for no steps, but we had some to negotiate. We didn't question the assigned room as it was comfortable with the private bath.

have stayed in hostels all over the world and this is my favourite! Everyone has a place here- solo travellers, couples and families. The rooms are spacious, comfy and warm (electric blankets?!!) The breakfast is great and the kitchen is fully equipped, there is a social room with Netflix for movie nights, a working space for us digital nomads and even a swimming pool! The best part of the whole experience is the staff. I never expected so much kindness and warmth. Every single member takes the time to get to know you and this vibe spreads among the guests to create a real feeling of home away from home. Great location, walking distance from beaches, shops, cafes and restaurants. Would 100% recommend this place for anyone is looking to rest, feel welcomed and meet some incredible people.

Very comfortable and clean. The best part about this place is the way it is managed. Joceline, Layla and Atti were lovely to talk too and I enjoyed the activities organized by them at the Big and Curiocity. The swimming pool is nice to have and is very well maintained. The electric blankets in rooms are a life saver on cold evening. I loved that they have Netflix in the living room so that I could relax and enjoy my evenings if and when I felt like staying indoors. I liked that the staff went over and beyond to ensure the safety of residents, gave good recommendations and they also remembered to make note of things like the tours that I had booked with another tour aganecy and provided me updates on cancellations, pickup times, etc.

This is an excellent place to stay. Centrally located in Green Point - close to the water front, shopping centre and many cafes/restaurants/supermarkets nearby (within walking distance). The place itself is lovely, lots of small details really make this place very homey and cosy. The staff are amazing - especially Ntombi. Very helpful, welcoming and warm. The friendliest people, but not because they have to be but because that is how they are. Authentic and genuine. I stayed in a shared room (3 beds) and was very lucky with my room mates. Very quiet, considerate and kind. The BIG is in a quiet residential area with a lovely pool. It’s a great place to relax, enjoy and get a good nights sleep. They have family dinners, which unfortunately I couldn’t take part in but they looked delicious and good value for money. Breakfast is the same every morning (fresh fruits, cereal, yoghurt, toast, eggs). I couldn’t believe breakfast was included in the price and is really awesome! I honestly loved how clean everything was (the room and bathrooms are cleaned every day). The bathroom in the shared room is amazing and the room itself is wonderfully decorated. I had an excellent time. 10/10 and would come back for sure!

If I HAD to say something then it would be that the floorboards creek and the doors are too short for the doorframe so you can hear when someone is in the toilet. The light also comes through early in the morning because of this but it’s honestly not bad. wear an eye mask and have ear plugs and it’s not a problem at all!

How it’s an open environment, but you have privacy as well. The facilities are great. Our rooms were spotless and tidy clean when we came back everyday. And how safe and secure the property is. Also the honesty fridge is a great touch, being able to grab a drink whenever was very ideal.

I’m really struggling to find anything bad about the property. However at night during the time we came it got super cold, but once we found the electric blankets everything was fine. Maybe just emphasise that they are there if needed.
