the staff were amazing every one of them especially Mbassa (eggspert) he greeted us each morning with a big smile and after the first day he remembered our specific egg orders the ambience was amazing food was exceptional cocktails were on point too everywhere was clean

the cooling system in my room was faulty.. would go off on its own, I woke up several times each night to adjust the temperature. also the black out blinds did a poor job of preventing sun rays .. was up every morning by 6am .. while on holiday the gym only had one functional Threadmill, was tough getting a spot in the mornings

8 golfers who booked 4 x 2 bed duplex rooms - exceptional size and perfect for us all. Great location and short stroll away form plenty of bars and restaurants Breakfast choices were brilliant. Bonus was on site hotel parking. The bar and lounge areas were light and spacious and very clean and modern.

To be honest there is nothing we would have changed at all.

All good. Breakfast s a bit pricey, but a good selection of food to cater for all tastes. The room was as expected, clean, bedding was good, no problems at all.

Check-in took quite a bit of time as there was only one person on duty. The lady checking in ahead of us engaged in a lengthy chit-chat with the guy at reception, wasting almost 10 minutes of our time. Otherwise, I do miss the funky 'old' Fire & Ice as I remember it from a few years ago - that's a personal preference. The hotel has been revamped in a very boring, toned down manner, that is a pitty.

The room was made up very nicely. Service was good and staff were friendly.

The bottle of bubbly was not included in the romantic turndown service, as arranged. Also, it was assumed that my partner was a man, which was/is not the case.

Staff were fantastic and so helpful, the breakfast gave options of beef, chicken & lamb sausages for those who don't eat pork. We were walking distance from long street which is great for bars & restaurants

The pool was small & a little disappointing but it was a city hotel so wasn't expecting too much

The hotel is great value for money. It offers luxury at an affordable price. It was also well positioned and close to all main attractions in Cape Town. Its also located in a safe clean part of the CBD.

Cleaning facilities were a bit slow. There were instances where I'd be out the entire morning but the room was not yet cleaned. This is however a minor inconvenience and staff were willing to come at another time in the afternoon as well.

Excellent location in the centre of Cape Town with easy access to Table Mountain, Greenpoint and the V&A, and Camps Bay. All the amenities of a hotel while feeling quite at home with loads of space and excellent security. Great restaurants and shops just around the corner. Super friendly staff too. And it’s load shedding proof.

Just the having to leave at the end of the stay part.

My stay at the Protea Fire & Ice Cape Town was wonderful. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The hotel is nicely furnished and in a great part of the city, close to the major routes but without much noise. The street felt safe and I was able to walk around the neighbourhood confidently, also being able to park my car on the public street with no issues. The room had all advertised amenities, and was cleaned every day.

My only disappointment was that there was always dust/debris on the floor in my room following the daily cleaning. I wonder if maybe the cleaning team have a broken hoover, or aren't paying much attention to that part of the cleaning process. But it wasn't great to have hardwood floors, and have to step on dust and sand and such.

The trip was to allow me to work with our Software Development team that is based in Cape Town - we spent two days at the hotel working through our next product release. The hotel staff were great, hosted my team for breakfast, lunch and drinks throughout the day, and were very attentive. An all round a great service and experience that we will use again on my next trip.

Staying in the loft which is not part of the main hotel resulted in no power during Load Shedding as the lofts are not connected to the Hotel generator. WiFi internet connection at the hotel is not secure - i.e anyone can connect. Recommend password protecting the WiFi as a minimum, using WPA3 Security.
