Location was good, close enough to walk to some buildings and sites of interest as well as good restaurants in the vicinity. Cooked breakfast was excellent.

No bedside lights to read by. Plugs not convenient for boiling kettle. Top of door needs a blind so passage light doesn't shine into room at night. Unacceptable to only have instant coffee available for breakfast. A four star establishment needs to provide proper coffee!

This place is great! Beautiful hotel, great location, very good breakfast. Probably the nicest and kindest staff I’ve ever encountered! We were helped by a woman named Thadawa (my apologies if I’m spelling her name wrong). Really just the sweetest and nicest human. She was super pleasant and helpful and she works very very hard to make sure the guests are happy. Thank you Thadawa. She speaks perfect English and was always there to make sure we were taken care off. Another person Asanda (I’m sorry if I’ve spelled her name wrong) was very helpful and very pleasant. It’s a nice building with a beautiful balcony. The breakfast was nice with a fruit and yogurt bar and eggs and bangers. My friend and I are Vegetarian and they had no problem accommodating us with vegan bangers. The bed was very comfortable, the WiFi worked well, and the shower got hot. I would definitely stay there again! Thank you Thadawa!

The only think that I thought could have been better was that the coffee was instant. It was fine, but being from the United States… I’m not acclimated to the taste of instant coffee. We found instant coffee was commonplace in this part of the world. Not a big deal. Really a very nice place with the best staff!

The breakfast was great! The staff amazingly friendly and helpful! The house looks wonderful, everything was clean. Please don’t expect the CBD to be this wonderful safe neighbourhood, it’s just not and what is the hotel going to do about it? Our car was safe on the street (empty everything, leave the compartments open) and we were fine walking to the museums and markets during the day. Very close to the mountains and also Bo-Kap. Definitely great in the sense that it’s close, not the picturesque neighbourhood other places outside of the city might offer you. The hotel itself has a lot of character with its original floors and matching artwork. Even has a big (not yet finished!) rooftop which was cool.

The WiFi did not work in our room. They offered to move us but that would’ve meant a smaller room downstairs.

Wow. What a great place to stay. It was a lovely oldy worldy hotel spotlessly clean and the staff were fantastic. Super safe as well. Great location, only a few minutes walk from the bars and nightlife on Long Street. If I ever have the chance to come back to Cape Town I wouldn't want to stop anywhere else. Mr Hall

Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Catered to our requests and any questions we had. Facilities were super comfortable and in a great location with a lot of good spots in walking distance!

1 and only complaint is that the type of pillows they had in my room weren’t the most comfortable. But my wife had no problem with hers so maybe a personal preference.

Very well located, within Bo Kaap and generally safe within that neighborhood. Antique fittings and decor; the hotel smells of rich wood and warmth. Street parking is risky, but the (small) hotel has parking for 1 vehicle.

"Spa" is in the name of the Hotel, but the spa (and restaurant) have not been constructed yet. 'spa' carries expectations, and those were not met. Otherwise, it's a lovely little hotel with the friendliest staff.

1st floor rooms will hear noise from guests arriving checking in at front desk. Faint mildew smell (we just opened the window). Construction across the street.

Location was good! Right in the CBD and walking distance to everything but tucked away to avoid noise. Staff extremely helpful despite last minute late booking. Fantastic old building being carefully restored with big comfortable bed and large shower room. Tea and coffee facilities in room.

Beautiful room, spacious and comfortable. Staff very friendly, felt safe and comfortable.

The ladies bar, lounge area could have been better. I know it was winter and we could not enjoy the beautiful stoep, but there were not really a lounge to sit and have a drink and snack.

Room was spacious and clean. Lots of storage space. The staff were very efficient and welcoming. Big comfortable bed. I also appreciated the common area and the balcony.
