The fact that they could make an exception for us to check in earlier ( at 12 as we arrived very early and it was very cold).... And the breakfast 'oh my...'

The room was spacious and the staff were very friendly. The service was excellent.

The only disappointment was the bed was not very comfortable. Usually the hotel beds are very comfortable but on this stay it wasn't .

Friendly staff from the moment we walked in. The food and bar service were great. The spa was great. It could do with an expansion during the pick season. The hotel is beautiful and deserves the 4-star rating it says it is, just minor maintenance issues that can easily degrade the place if not taken care of.

The noisy aircons in the rooms. The trap door on the ceiling in 710 can look more appealing than it is. The sliding door and windows in 407 require a little TLC as they do not shut properly, thus allowing noise from the beach visitors. Otherwise, I would recommend the Edward Hotel to anyone looking for the best 4-star beachfront hotel any day. We had a pleasant 6 nights stay ever as a couple that frequents Durban. Our many thanks to the hotel staff.

The staff and the facilities are great. Breakfast....wow, there is nothing more you can ask for.

The bedroom pillows were not great but the bed was comfy and the facilities clean.

I recently stayed at The Edward on O.R. Tambo Parade in Durban and had an exceptional experience. The room was impressively neat, spacious, and offered a stunning ocean view. Everything about it, from the spotless linen to the fresh, clean scent, made it feel like a home away from home. The bed was comfortable with soft pillows, and the air-conditioning worked perfectly, adding to the comfort. My only suggestion for improvement would be to add more TV channels to provide some extra entertainment for downtime. The staff at The Edward were incredibly welcoming and attentive from the moment we arrived. They went above and beyond to make sure we felt at home, even going so far as to stand outside with me during a late-night smoke. I also felt reassured by the security, as I noticed them patrolling even in the early morning hours when I peeked out my window. Dining at The Edward was a treat. The breakfast and dinner offered a delightful variety and were absolutely delicious. The dining area was spotless, and everything was arranged with a touch of elegance that made each meal feel like an experience. The entire hotel has a fancy yet tranquil ambiance, perfect for a relaxing getaway with friends or family. The Edward is a wonderful choice for anyone looking to enjoy a peaceful, comfortable stay in Durban. Highly recommended!

The room is big, we had a sea view and beautiful. There is a separate aircon for the room and living room. A bar fridge was also available in the room. Coffee also available to make in the room. The bed was very comfortable with great pillows. The bathroom had a bath and shower with shampoos, conditioners ect. A lot of closets as well. The hotel also had a bar and there menu had amazing tasting food. The location was great , beach right in front if the hotel and fast foods and restaurants all in few meter distance. We will most definitely book here again! The staff as extremely friendly and made our stay amazing!

Checking in was seamless, was greeted with a warm welcome and beautiful smiles. The staff was friendly at all times and that was a winner for me. On the first morning, my toilet was blocked, I contacted reception and it was attended to immediately. The room catered for me and my family's needs. It was an overall pleasant and warm stay. My kids and I also loved the breakfast. Upon checkout, I had a late flight back, they offered to keep my luggage so I could enjoy Durban without the hassle of moving around with it while I waited for the flight. I also loved that they provided us with as many towels as we wanted when we were going to the beach, instead of making our towels dirty.

The rooms could be modernized but I suppose the economy is tough right now and refurbishing would be costly. Other than that, nothing comes to mind.

The room was spacious with a sea view. We liked the safe underground parking with a daily fee ( R 60). The breakfast was good. The staff were always nice and welcoming. The big generator was a big plus during load-shedding. The dine-in room service was great with delicious food and a variety to choose from. The house keeping were punctuate, they change the towels, make the beds and clean the room daily.

The location is a bit worrisome as it’s in front of a crowded beach, that’s unsafe & smells very bad. The corridors in our floor were noisy and busy very early in the morning with loud guests and/or staff that will wake you up by 6 or 6:30 am. The windows weren’t clean so they obscured the sea view.

I liked everything, the view from our room, the rooms were excellent. Staff was nice, everyone well done and excellent service. I've been to Durban before and this was by far the best hotel and service. I loved and enjoyed my stay, and the food was the best 👌

The small bed for the kids, why was it just one bed for an 11year old and 15 year old. It was not comfortable and small for 2 kids. Next time at least make them 2 or bigger.
