What an incredible decoration. The property is so pretty with all the turbines from the days the hotel was a power station, mixed with modern paintings and what not. Really adds to the atmosphere. It's connected to a gastropub which was very convenient in the evening because we were tired and didn't even have to leave the property to have a nice burger and beers(plus live music). The breakfast is amazing, I got myself a delicious eggs benedict with smoked salmon. There was loadshedding but the hotel honors its past and has a generator so we were not left in the dark. Finally, loved the vibe in Thesen Island, the canals, the calm streets, etc.

Really helpful staff and nice communal areas. The room itself was very comfortable and good value for money by norther European standards. The location was very handy for being able to walk in around Thesen Island (which is very small) and up to the harbour area of Knysna. It felt very safe and secure and had plenty of parking.

The finish in the room could be updated slightly, looks like the decorating may have been slightly rushed. But this is only a very minor point.

Extraordinary setting in this tastefully converted Powerstation - unusual and quite wonderful. Outstanding modern decor and artwork. Lovely breakfasts and nearby lovely places to eat ( Fresh FishLine on the mainland). Handy spa well worth a visit. View onto canals, tranquil and picturesque.

The Hotel is on Thessen island which has adpoted a strange "white - gated" concept that struck an odd chord in the country's move to improved integration. We didn't enjoy this atmosphere. About 30% of the businesses/shops were estate agents which meant these was little "soul"

We had a warm welcome. Breakfast was good but...please read below.

The thin walls. I hate when I can hear people next door to me talking. Behind the tab should also be cleaned - black staines(I forgot go say it while I was there) Breakfast was sluggish and the tray does not work for 3 guests. 1 piece from the brie cheese, one from the blue cheese, one slice salami???? Müsli, Yoghurt and fruit in a miniature glass. With no matching spoons, a mess. And not everybody likes all three items mixed, so it's a waste of food

One specific person made my vacation great at your hotel. Chloé from the pub. I will tell you exactly what I told her.. "Don't ever change the way you treat or talk to your customers". I see myself in her just starting off life in the most difficult industry. She is an absolute attribute to your hotel. She always has a smile, witty, eager to learn from an "old hospitality dog" like me and sucks everything up like a sponge. Be sure to push her to the full potential she has. Young but tuff. She's got it in her to go very far. Regards Cazz.

A very unique and interesting hotel, with all the original turbine machinary very tastefully displayed all over the place.....very cool to wonder around and reflect on the history of Thesen Island and it's original purpose. The hotel is set beautifully between the canals of Thesen island and the entrance to the Knysna lagoon, offering fantastic views. The rooms are extremely comfortable, some offering balconeys overlooking the canals and pool area. Great restuarant on the premises and the most friendly staff encountered in a long time. 😎🤙🇿🇦🇿🇦

The staff were so warm! Breakfast choices were great, and the wait staff were absolutely divine! We visited the spa for a facial - great experience. The staff that cleaned the rooms were respectful and efficient.

The dinner choices - food needed more seasoning. Better instructions on how to heat the rooms would have been helpful. Parking was sometimes difficult to find or was too far away.

The hotel is beautiful and well situated, in walking distance to the square. The staff are well trained and very friendly, especially the receptionists. They make one feel special and welcome. It was my husband”s birthday and the staff made him feel special by celebrating the day with a cake, champagne and a beautiful upgraded room.

Nothing!

Great location with views of the waterways and lagoon. We were in Room 101 which is a spacious room with a large bathroom. Lots of free parking available. Walking distance of restaurants and bars. The staff is awesome. A special shoutout to the staff at the Gastro Pub, Maria at the restaurant and Lydia at the spa.

Perfectly positioned for easy access to everything. Friendly and attentive staff. Clean and well appointed ambiance.

The breakfast did not offer much in the line of health eg sugar free or non processed options. No extra toilet paper or tissues where supplied in the bathrooms and the bed wraps need an upgrade as they hang loosely to the ground.
