We spent two nights there and were pleasantly surprised! The room is super spacious with everything you need, including a kettle and paper cups for tea (there are no tea bags though). The shower and bathroom are separate, both were clean and smelled nice. The Wi-Fi was fast and reliable. At check-in we were given 20% vouchers for the café on the 3rd floor of the hostel, which is super cosy and has lots of recommendable hot drinks. The hostel itself is just outside the city centre but within short walking distance of Haeundae beach and therefore restaurants, shops and a small food market street. Perfect for the summer and to get breakfast, if you want to have your breakfast in your room. As we were there off-season, we couldn't make much use of the beach or the rooftop terrace. We had a look at the rooftop terrace anyway and it looked comfortable, with a nice view of the sea. All in all we had a really nice time at the hostel and would definitely recommend it.

This is something the hostel can't do much about and is more of a tip for someone planning to come with heavier luggage (e.g. a large suitcase): The hotel is about 15 minutes walk from the nearest metro station and the walk is not very suitcase friendly. There are bus stops closer to the hotel, but the express bus from the train station (line 1003) does not take people with suitcases, so this is not an option. There are also stairs to the entrance of the hostel that you can't get around with a lift (at least not so obviously that we could see it when we arrived). So better be prepared to struggle a bit with your luggage before arrival.

The location was great, walking distance from the beach and nice Busan attractions. The staff are very helpful. The size of the room is nice with beautiful furniture . The wifi , A/C and hot water in the shower work very well.

The towels in the shower look very old and used . The coffee shop in the building has very limited options for breakfast.

Great stay at Hotel Hyggelig, very close to the Haeundae beach and many restaurants, convenience stores nearby. The closest metro station is 12mn of walk and there are also a lot of buses. Our room is spacious, very clean, secured, the bed is very compfy and smelt good. The bathroom is big and clean but doesn't have a dry space since after a shower, the water will run down to the toilet as well, but overall it didn't really matter for us. The receptionnist let us check in earlier than expected so we could have a nap after our long flight. Overall it's a great value for money stay, we highly recommend this hotel !

Hotel Hyggelig is one of the best hotels you can get for the price and location. It is at the edge of Haeundae Beach and as so, is a 5min walk to the beach itself. This is a pleasure to do anytime whether day or night. It is also near Busan attractions like the Beach Train and Sky Capsule - which is another 5min walk from the hotel. It is near food locations for authentic seafood and Korean barbecue. Public train transport to the Haeundae Station is a good amount of walk and is not recommended if walking with luggage as it is uphill from the hotel. Rooms facing the seaside fishermen boat are great. And better if you get the rooms with balcony. The toilet and bath are spacious and so are the rooms (we got the one with balcony). The staff are great! We did not get to use the top floor ledge and resto though.

The rooms need some fair amount of cleaning, but it is acceptable. My wife said the beds need some cleaning as well.

The location is just perfect, by the sea/fishing port, super close to the Haeundae beach without being in the center of it. So it's located in a quiet area but one can access the beach within 3 minutes. Lots of cafés and restaurants nearby. If you go to Busan by train you can take bus no. 1003 and reach the hotel in about an hour. The rooftop is also beautiful at night (you can bring your own drinks up there, there's no bar/café - the hotel café some people are talking about is closed)

The towels are pretty small but they provide 4 of them so it's kind of okayish still~

The Hotel was everything it said it would be and, frankly, if it sorted the few niggles, would probably be out of our budget. The staff were both available and really efficiently helpful. The sea view was across the last fishing "village" with its own fish market which was a lovely touch. The rooms were clean and comfortable

There were some oddities like the bathroom drainage system that sent the shower water right across the bathroom floor or the roof terrace which was laid out and comfy but was only half open with toilets that were closed (and clearly had been out of order for some considerable time). There was no food or drink in-house but that frankly didn't matter as it is very close to lots of options

Good location - view of the sea. Great rooftop view. Comfortable and clean. The room is bright and airy, the shower and toilet are fine. The bed is big and comfortable. There is a desk, TV and refrigerator. Mipo is an interesting area with fisherman and seafood restaurants, a little less touristy than the center of Haeundae.

The rooftop is great but only accessible through the cafe downstairs during opening hours, so it is not convenient to go up there on a whim. There is no breakfast option (though they give you a small discount coupon for the cafe). The room was not cleaned the first night but the front desk explained to me that you have to push a button where the light switches are in order to turn on an LED in the hallway outside the door that indicates "please make up the room." Once we figured that out they cleaned every day. Also apart from a rack that holds two bathrobes, there is no storage, no closet nor shelves to put anything. You will be living out of your suitcase or from piles on the floor.

The location was superb. Very quiet off the main street, but still an easy walk to the main strip via the promenade. The bathtub in the suite was an added bonus after a long day of touring. The room was beautiful and very clean with wonderful amenities.

I wish the cafe stocked Korean items like Korean beer instead of Western beers...The cafe could be lovely but it does not feel very homey and I preferred to go to the fantastic cafes around the neighborhood. Elevator is a bit slow but that's not a big deal.

This was my second time at this hotel, and like the first time, I loved the rooftop option above the cafe. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The view from our room was decent but not as good as my first time, when I had a view of the ocean.

I am a little more critical of the hotel this time, because I kept noticing things I didn't like. The main issue is the lack of hanging areas for clothing (which is a problem I find throughout Korea). There are not enough hooks or areas to hang clothes (and being near a beach this is key). There was also an issue with the light switches being in odd places (too far from the bathroom for example).

The location is amazing. Fantastic views from the rooftop! A short walk to Haeundae Beach, where there are tons of restaurants, cafes, and shops. It is next door to Blueline Park where you can take a ride in the Sky Capsules. I chose to walk up to Dalmaji Park to get a view of the colorful trams with the beautiful Busan skyline in the background. Overall, it is a great area for those wanting a low-key beach weekend in Busan.

The nearest subway station was about a 15 minute walk from the hotel. If you're traveling with luggage, the sidewalks are cobblestone for part of the walk. This distance made us rethink some of the attractions we wanted to see that required a metro ride longer than 45 minutes. In the end, this wasn't much of a downside because we found a lot of fun things to do in the nearby area.
